Hello, I had the same problem with my hardware (Asus Ux303LA, Intel 5500, i7) It appears to have been fixed upstream in drm-intel-next, You can try it using a kernel with the latest drm-intel-next, which you can get from here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm- intel-next/current/ I also use i915.enable_execlists=0 as a kernel parameter and it appears to be stable now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1432194 Title: Graphics unstable on Ubuntu 14.04 and 14.10 using Intel HD Graphics 5500 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1432194/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1465003] [NEW] U1db.Document silently ignores key assignment
Public bug reported: document.contents[foo] = bar has no effect. This results in needing to write the above code as: var temp = document.contents temp[foo] = bar document.contents = temp This is annoying and ugly code everytime I want to update a single value. [Bug 1464757] Re: Audio broken on Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140
GaryParr: I know Dell released an A05 BIOS for this model... but then pulled the BIOS after it caused problems. Would you have further information towards this (ex. support article on Dell's website noting this)? ...(I'm A04)... Just to advise, as per your Bug Description you are using BIOS A05 (not A04). Despite this, one thing that could be discussed with Dell as per your dmesg https://launchpadlibrarian.net/208945923/CurrentDmesg.txt : [0.076672] Your BIOS is broken and requested that x2apic be disabled. This will slightly decrease performance. Use 'intremap=no_x2apic_optout' to override BIOS request. Hence, at a minimum they either should provide an updated BIOS that fixes at least this issue, or if this was the problem introduced in A05, they should provide A04 via their website. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1464757 Title: Audio broken on Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1464757/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1385813] Re: find -size -Nk seems to be off by 1
The -size -nX check works like this: How many units sized one X each is the file using, a) less than n or b) at least n Therefore -size -1M or -size -1k or -size -1c all match only empty files. A 1025 byte sized file uses two 1K-units (it has to, there is only space for 1024 bytes in a single 1K unit) and will therefore not match -size -2k. cu Andreas ** Changed in: findutils (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1385813 Title: find -size -Nk seems to be off by 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/findutils/+bug/1385813/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1449678] Re: zram-config 0.3 : Job for zram-config.service failed
Hi, Many days after I have removed zram-config I still have zram loaded and a /dev/zram0 created. This is what I did to remove it right now, and I have not yet rebooted to see the result. If after a reboot I need to do it all over again, I will have to blacklist it. Please note that this situation is first seen for me, since many years. Also note afaik some scripts done by mystillef for Fedora, which uses systemd since a long time, don't have this issue. $ cat /proc/swaps FilenameTypeSizeUsedPriority /dev/zram0 partition 947216 0 100 /dev/sda6 partition 4607996 0 -1 $ There is a zram0 device loaded (I haven't asked it to load, this is what I found after a fresh boot), with priority 100 (which is not an issue for me, just notice the priority if using zram-config is 5, not 100). $ systemctl list-units | grep zram sys-devices-virtual-block-zram0.device loaded active plugged /sys/devices/virtual/block/zram0 dev-zram0.swap loaded active active/dev/zram0 Information about systemd related loaded units $ sudo swapoff /dev/zram0 [sudo] password for melodie: $ unmounting the swap device $ systemctl list-units | grep zram sys-devices-virtual-block-zram0.device loaded active plugged /sys/devices/virtual/block/zram0 Checking what units are still seen $ sudo systemctl disable sys-devices-virtual-block-zram0.device Disabling the above unit $ systemctl list-units | grep zram sys-devices-virtual-block-zram0.device loaded active plugged /sys/devices/virtual/block/zram0 Checking the result of the disable command. Obviously it produced no result. Maybe a rmmod will do it? See after: $ sudo rmmod zram $ sudo systemctl disable sys-devices-virtual-block-zram0.device $ systemctl list-units | grep zram $ Now it worked! My guess is I can redo it all over again after next boot, as long as zram isn't blacklisted in a blacklist file under /etc/ This is an issue which is very severe because it can affect the stability of a system : for one, zram is still in the staging directory; for two we have seen these last years that depending on the kernel and how it was tweaked (Precise and after), using zram at same time as these kernels could make a session freeze completely. So, I am aware that I am using an edition not meant for the large audience : I am a tester here and I know it. I would appreciate this issue to be addressed within a few months and if possible, long before the next LTS is out. The expected behavior: 1) I install zram-config, it works a treat; 2) I remove zram-config from the installed packages, no more zram is loaded; 3) additional options would be welcome: * the ability to setup how large the block devices should be (1/3, or 1/4 of available memory, or any number, as explained in the wiki of the original compcache project); * the ability to decide how many block devices should be created, in relation to the number of cores ran by a machine; *the ability to start and stop it on demand, without the need to remove it from the system. [Bug 1465002] [NEW] Network manager ignores the Automatic unlock for SIM cards
Public bug reported: I have a SIM card for the mobile broadband (the broadband card is built in my laptop); the network manager doesn't store the unlock code, even if I specified Automatic unlock option, so that I have to type the code every time I log in, but also every time the system wakes up from standby. [Bug 1464950] Re: output flushing error causing ugly output for autoremove
Yeah, relatively recent in its very visible form, but a relatively old problem in its cause. Fixed in upstream git for a while, but thanks to diverting branches (abi-breakfree unstable and abi-breaking experimental) it hasn't reached a (non-experimental) release yet: http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/apt/apt.git/commit/?id=2a884c612b10b27f4be2cc6dd689bfe448d9361a It is written as an abi break, but could be rewritten to not require one with some care (at least binary compatible, technically source compatibility breaks and theoretically its still a behavior change). I just decided against it at the time it was clear we would have to keep the diversion a little longer than originally planed and backported just the absolutely needed stuff. We could do it now, but I guess the time is better spent in stopping to semi-maintain two branches. Hence setting fix commited in anticipation of fix released soon [all while realizing that I might very well be the biggest blocker in this process with my perfectionism] ** Changed in: apt (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1464950 Title: output flushing error causing ugly output for autoremove To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/1464950/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1364452] Re: People's own phone number isn't where they expect to find it
** Description changed: Twenty people were given an Ubuntu phone and asked to find their own phone number. (10 were iPhone users, 8 Android, 1 Windows Phone, and 1 feature phone user.) The first place they looked: - 9 in the Contacts app - 5 in System Settings Phone screen - 3 in System Settings About screen - 2 in the Dialer app contacts screen - 1 in System Settings Cellular screen. So, our current placement of the phone number in the About screen (bug 1221908) is suboptimal. - Instead it should be in the Contacts app, and possibly in the Phone - screen. - + Instead it should be in the Contacts app, and possibly in the Phone screen. Where the phone is dual SIM, both phone numbers should be shown. - This first needs design work. + Only once that is done, it should be removed from the About screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1364452 Title: People's own phone number isn't where they expect to find it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1364452/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1464994] [NEW] Low audio volume on Thinkpad Helix
Public bug reported: I have a Thinkpad Helix, which I dual boot with Windows 8.x and Ubuntu. The audio volume in Ubuntu is low, compared to Windows, even when the device output is set on 100%. For example, when I watch something, on VLC, I can increase both the VLC volume and the device output to more than 100%, say 130% each; in this case, I reach a volume comparable to Windows, but in this case is clipped.
