Re: [Bug 1383184] Re: Atheros Qualcomm Killer N1525 Wireless-AC [168c:003e] is not supported
very simple. Follow the instructions provided in the email you quoted, copied for your convenience: For now, you guys could use 15.10(purge the ath10k-dkms if you tried installing it), and make a copy of https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/plain/ath10k/QCA6174 into /lib/firmware/ath10k/ in the git link - two folders, copy them in a QCA6174 folder you'll create first, as with a fresh install, it won't exist. reboot and your system will have wifi. revert if you experience any difficulties. tks On Mon, Nov 2, 2015 at 11:14 PM, Chris Glass < christopher.gl...@canonical.com> wrote: > Could somebody summarize that the instructions to get this working on > wily are? [Bug 1113420] Re: Alt+ window menu shortcuts cannot be disabled
This is a general problem across Unity, and it is SUPREMELY annoying. I like to use -t to open a terminal, and various other keyboard shortcuts that use as the only modifier. That has always worked, but it's broken on Unity: when I start an application that has a menu that starts with the letter 't', that application steals the shortcut. Instead of popping up a new terminal, it opens that menu. Even worse, even after quitting the application the keyboard shortcut remains broken. To reproduce: - in Unity settings -> keyboard -> Shortcuts -> Launchers change the "Launch terminal" shortcut to ALT+T - hit -t, new terminial pops up - start Thunderbird or Okular, both of which have a "Tools" menu - note -t now opens the Tools menu - kill the application - hit -t, nothing happens The keyboard shortcut is still there in the settings. Restarting Unity makes it work again. Note that the applications that trigger this use GTK2 and Qt, respectively. There is nothing wrong with an application registering menu keyboard shortcuts -- but the window manager cannot be overruled by an application! Unity's keyboard shortcuts *must* take precedence. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1113420 Title: Alt+ window menu shortcuts cannot be disabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1113420/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1512361] [NEW] /etc/writable should be handled by the initrd, not by rootfs builds
Public bug reported: currently we set up linking in /etc/writable during image build for files that need atomic writes (on the phone thats only three, on snappy it seems to increase a lot). doing it from livecd-rootfs is hackish and will bind us forever to that image builder (or at least require to move such hacks forward and maintain them in a potentially new build system). instead this should be set up from teh initrd during boot, after the writable mounts are in place, this is a one time thing (should check for existing linkage and just bail out then) ** Affects: snappy Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: initramfs-tools-ubuntu-core (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Assignee: Oliver Grawert (ogra) Status: Confirmed ** Affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Assignee: Oliver Grawert (ogra) Status: Confirmed ** Also affects: initramfs-tools-ubuntu-core (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: initramfs-tools-ubuntu-core (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Oliver Grawert (ogra) ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Oliver Grawert (ogra) ** Changed in: initramfs-tools-ubuntu-core (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: initramfs-tools-ubuntu-core (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: livecd-rootfs (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1512361 Title: /etc/writable should be handled by the initrd, not by rootfs builds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1512361/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1512383] [NEW] Automatically rotate to best orientation for photo
Public bug reported: The orientation of a photo displayed in full-screen mode should have nothing to do with the accelerometer. Photos should always be displayed with their short axis at the short axis of the phone's screen, thus maximising the viewable area. When switching between landscape and portrait photos it is easier and more natural to rotate the phone 90 degrees as if it was a paper photo rather than trying to shake the phone until its accelerometer takes the hint, and then balancing the phone so that the accelerometer never changes its mind. ** Affects: gallery-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1512383 Title: Automatically rotate to best orientation for photo To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gallery-app/+bug/1512383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1511914] Re: Crash on edit with external editor, results in corrupt image database entry
** Description changed: Select "edit with external editor". The image opens in Gimp, but Shotwell crashes. Save the image, open shotwell (order doesn't matter). * The image thumbnail doesn't change proportions to the edited image, resulting in squashed image. And rotated images lose their rotation information on screen. The underlying edited image is unaffected. This happens only with images edited with the crash above; previous images are fine. * I am unable to permanently change associated data such as the grade/stars. Once I quite Shotwell those changes are gone. Again, this affects only images edited as above. - * This happened with the update to Wily Werewolf. I solved it creating this script in /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/02knockd.sh (owned by root:root and with u=rwx,og=rx permissions): #!/bin/bash set -o nounset declare iface="${1:-}" declare event="${2:-}" case "$event" in up|vpn-up) if ! pidof knockd >/dev/null; then service knockd start 2>&1 fi ;; down|vpn-down|hostname|dhcp4-change|dhcp6-change) ;; *) echo "$0: called with unknown action \`$2'" 1>&2 exit 1 ;; esac -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/837954 Title: knockd service fails to start when connecting with NetworkManager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/knockd/+bug/837954/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
