[Bug 1530724] [NEW] ufraw doesn't have camera profile data for new cameras
Public bug reported: The latest version of ufraw has camera profiles for many new cameras. Currently ufraw doesn't properly display images for new cameras like Nikon D7200, Nikon D810, and many other new cameras. [Bug 1528526] Re: USB connexion with mobile Wiko impossible
mrla, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/Eee_PC_1215B/HelpDesk_Download/ an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (0503). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible: 1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect): sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement or not. 3) Please mark this report Status Confirmed. If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-0503 ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium => Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1528526 Title: USB connexion with mobile Wiko impossible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1528526/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1528300] Re: Stuck on login screen after updating to 3.19.0-42
Ok, I updated the BIOS to F9 and confirmed with the commands above: F9 03/18/2014 Now nothing other than windows worked. I eventually figured out the BIOS updates reset the BIOS settings, which included enabling the Intel HD Graphics on the processor - which seems to confuse the hell out of ubuntu. After disabling that and playing with the display drivers I'm able to boot with the 42 kernel now. For some reason only the nouveau driver works, using the nvidia driver will give the initial symptoms still: instead of booting to desktop, you get the login screen, but it's not possible to login with any account, you just get returned to the login screen - probably a failure of the desktop system to start. The nouveau driver used to (with kernel 41) cause me issues where it would boot to a black screen roughly 3/4 times. Persistently rebooting would eventually work. I hope that is not still the case, but it's too early to say. I've disabled all updates and I'm going to try to limp along until the next time I upgrade my OS, I'll give a debian a try this time, maybe it will be more stable. Thanks for your help. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1528300 Title: Stuck on login screen after updating to 3.19.0-42 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1528300/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1510970] Re: Intel driver crashes on Ubuntu 15.10
Same problems for weeks. Opening video files (vlan). Using Firefox. Opening or closing folders via SMB to an external NAS. And other activities which i do not remember, sorry. First i would get the login screen again after 10-120 seconds. Then the crash report would tell me that it was xorg. It might not be the same bug then please ignore my ranting. But the last few days (since around xmas) the system would not do that anymore but simply freeze. Only hard reset helps even after waiting 15 minutes. I always install updates immediately. [Bug 1371783] Re: package ttf-mscorefonts-installer 3.4+nmu1ubuntu2 (utopic) fails to install/upgrade
Not yet. I installed Playonlinux and got this error. When installing Steam via Playonlinux (for Quake Live), it also promted that it needs these files. It downloaded (or said it downloads) the files and I could start Steam. But 1 day later the popup came again. I wanted to try 2 more things: 1) Installing wine, perhaps wine fetches the fonts correctly (I read that somewhere) 2) copying the files from my installation on my laptop. Do you know, which files exactly I need and where are they? Now I am on my laptop, tomorrow I will have access to my desktop again. It's not too big of a deal anyways, as Playonlinux and Steam via Playonlinux (and thus Quake Live) run without problems. [Bug 1529232] Re: Scanner not detected over wifi since after 3.13.0-68
Lucas Partridge, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder)? Install instructions are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . This will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. If testing on your main install would be inconvenient, one may: 1) Install Ubuntu to a different partition and then test this there. 2) Backup, or clone the primary install. If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where X, and Y are the first two numbers of the kernel version, and Z is the release candidate number if it exists. If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Once testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, please mark this report's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: latest-bios-1.3 ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1529232 Title: Scanner not detected over wifi since after 3.13.0-68 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1529232/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1447038] Re: Shutdown/Restart of live session guest does not work in Virtualbox or VMWare
Changing the Virtualbox settings and the kernel command line to output to a text file on the host machine (see https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Serial_redirect) worked to get a log file, but caused the "Please remove the installation medium, then press ENTER:" screen as well as a text-mode animation to show up. Pressing enter did not cause the system to shut itself down though. The text-mode shutdown animation continued to display along with the "Please remove the installation medium, then press ENTER:" message. Due to the fact that the issue changes whenever logging is set up, it will likely be difficult to debug this issue fully. ** Attachment added: "output-ignore_loglevel.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1447038/+attachment/4543719/+files/output-ignore_loglevel.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1447038 Title: Shutdown/Restart of live session guest does not work in Virtualbox or VMWare To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/1447038/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1530717] [NEW] [usability] no hourglass mouse icon or feedback when launching an application

Public bug reported: Running Lubuntu 15.10 live CD in Virtualbox - install pavucontrol - run pulseaudio - click on Volume Control on the bottom right of the panel to show the panel volume control with its mute checkbox In pavucontrol, tab Output devices: - pushing the "mute audio" button in pavucontrol will check the Mute checkbox in panel volume control - releasing the "mute audio" button in pavucontrol will uncheck the Mute checkbox in panel volume control - checking the Mute checkbox in panel volume control will push the mute audio button in pavucontrol However, - unchecking the Mute checkbox in the panel volume control WILL NOT release the "mute audio" button in pavucontrol Expected result: - unchecking the Mute checkbox in the panel volume should release the "mute audio" button in pavucontrol. **User expects to reverse the action of checking of the "mute" checkbox by unchecking the box.** Moreover, as desired, pavucontrol empasizes that the audio is muted by rendering the volume scrollbar as "read only". It's grey and not modifiable. However the Volume control volume scrollbar of the panel stays editable and is not changed when the Mute checkbox is checked. [Bug 1528849] Re: PCI passthrough of LSI card fails
Jason, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. At your earliest convenience, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top of the page from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D (the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily folder)? ** Tags added: bisect-done regression-release ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1528849 Title: PCI passthrough of LSI card fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1528849/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1530413] Re: confusing example from 'lxc help image'
Thanks for reporting this. images.linuxcontainers.org is a fake LXD server implemented through static files and rewrite rules, it doesn't implement the API that "alias list" uses. I'll add the missing file to images.linuxcontainers.org which should take care of the error you've received. And yes, I agree that the help here could do with some improvement, at the very least point to other help messages to better understand some of the concepts. Briefly: - The LXD text client (lxc) can interact with multiple servers, those are called "remotes" and can be added/changed/removed through "lxc remote ..." - LXD is image based, all containers must be created from an image. The unique identifier used by LXD for images is the sha256 of their compressed tarball representation. As humans don't usually enjoy typing a full sha256 to tell LXD what they want, LXD has the concept of image aliases which is a human-friendly name that you can add to a particular image. So the two commands you typed did: - lxc remote add store2 images.linuxcontainers.org Added a new remote called "store2" pointing to the public image server (fake LXD) at images.linuxcontainers.org - lxc image alias list store2: Attempted to list all image aliases set on the "store2" remote. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1530413 Title: confusing example from 'lxc help image' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxd/+bug/1530413/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1447038] Re: Shutdown/Restart of live session guest does not work in Virtualbox or VMWare
I was expecting confirmation of my thoughts about that job waiting to end; we got that from flocculant. There isn't anything missing for this but careful debugging on the shutdown processes. Ideally it would have to be reproduced with the splash disabled, so we can see as much information as possible, possibly attaching a serial console to the VM so that debug messages from plymouth and/or systemd can be written there, hopefully something will pop up. The gist of it hasn't changed, I still think this is failing because plymouth doesn't like some aspect of how the video driver works on VirtualBox and VMWare, so one thing to try would be to test with different video drivers -- in KVM parlance, for example, switching between vga and qxl could change the result, but I'm not familiar enough with VBox and haven't used VMWare in so long that I wouldn't know what drivers there are or how to change them :) ** Changed in: casper (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1447038 Title: Shutdown/Restart of live session guest does not work in Virtualbox or VMWare To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/1447038/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1530414] Re: lxc image copy should be (at least optionally) more verbose
Hi, Yes, there are a number of operations for which we used to lack progress information entirely which made this impossible. Recently, I've implemented the events API and updated most download paths within LXD to expose progress information back to the client (by increment of 10% to avoid flooding them with events), our default client however doesn't yet use this information. Our focus is currently on a few big and complex features that we want to land before feature freeze (remainder of resource limits and native simplestream support) but I'm hopeful we'll get some time to fix some of those rough edges in the command line client in time for 16.04. ** Changed in: lxd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist ** Changed in: lxd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1530414 Title: lxc image copy should be (at least optionally) more verbose To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxd/+bug/1530414/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
