I do have bluetooth enabled, but I've never attached a keyboard or any other input device to it. [Bug 1551995] Re: radeon drivers do not work with RV635/M86 [Mobility Radeon HD 3670] video card
Eric Moore, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=3784205=8=4060 an update to your computer's buggy, insecure, and outdated BIOS is available (F.20). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything? For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette . Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. Also, you don't have to create a new bug report. Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible: 1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect): sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date 2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement or not. 3) Please mark this report Status New. If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid. Hi rodsmith, thanks a lot for your follow-up analysis. I can confirm that I saw this issue with the server forcibly switched to EFI only, and using grub-efi. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal: sudo apt-get clean Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a memory test. Thanks in advance! [Bug 1550846] Re: package identification is awful
I've just booted a few different releases. A live pre-release DVD of Mythbuntu from a few day ago does behave with "ubuntu-bug linux" and "ubuntu-bug apport" although it could have done better with; "ubuntu-bug kernel", "ubuntu-bug ubuntu-bug", "ubuntu-bug ubuntu", and "ubuntu-bug apport-bug". The month old installation also misbehaves with "ubuntu-bug linux", but I guess that a bug has been fixed since then. [Bug 1553442] [NEW] Recommended boot partition is too small
Public bug reported: I setup a new laptop with Xenial, using a recent daily ISO. I used the default partitioning of the entire disk. Within a week I got apt install failures due to /boot being full. Either kernels are not being autoremoved as they should, or the recomended /boot partition is too small at 237MB. [Bug 1553434] [NEW] fglrx-updates-core 2:15.201-0ubuntu0.14.04.1: fglrx-updates-core module failed to build for xenia kernel (generic and lowlatency)
Public bug reported: Not sure if apport-bug includes the following info, so I'll include the compile error just in case it doesn't. Note: the module does build on the -wily kernels. Hardware: Toshiba Sattellite A300-1M9, a fantastic laptop built in 2008. They don't build 'em like that anymore. But it has more features in it than today's laptops. But anyway. Lest I turn it into a sales pitch, here's the compile error from dkms: /var/lib/dkms/fglrx-updates-core/15.201/build/2.6.x/firegl_public.c: In function ‘firegl_major_proc_read’: /var/lib/dkms/fglrx-updates-core/15.201/build/2.6.x/firegl_public.c:639:9: error: void value not ignored as it ought to be len = seq_printf(m, "%d\n", major); ^ /var/lib/dkms/fglrx-updates-core/15.201/build/2.6.x/firegl_public.c: In function ‘KCL_fpu_save_init’: /var/lib/dkms/fglrx-updates-core/15.201/build/2.6.x/firegl_public.c:6508:49: error: ‘XSTATE_FP’ undeclared (first use in this function) if (!(fpu->state.xsave.header.xfeatures & XSTATE_FP)) ^ /var/lib/dkms/fglrx-updates-core/15.201/build/2.6.x/firegl_public.c:6508:49: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in /var/lib/dkms/fglrx-updates-core/15.201/build/2.6.x/firegl_public.c: At top level: /var/lib/dkms/fglrx-updates-core/15.201/build/2.6.x/firegl_public.c:6498:12: warning: ‘KCL_fpu_save_init’ defined but not used [-Wunused-function] static int KCL_fpu_save_init(struct task_struct *tsk) ^ make[2]: *** [/var/lib/dkms/fglrx-updates-core/15.201/build/2.6.x/firegl_public.o] Error 1 Cheers. [Bug 1553230] Re: Something very strange happened during a dist-upgrade - 16.04 Beta 1
well that is indeed strange! perhaps a graphics driver update or something caused the glitch, there has been a new kernel since beta 1 was released. Did the dist-upgrade finish? Does this persist after reboot? Can you attach logs (and run apport-collect) ** Also affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1553230 Title: Something very strange happened during a dist-upgrade - 16.04 Beta 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-gnome/+bug/1553230/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
