[Bug 1532198] Re: [MIR] zfs-linux

2016-04-11 Thread Richard Laager
We are getting very close to the final freeze. What's the plan to deal
with spl? Is it going in, or will the /etc/hostid code be moved to ZFS,
or something else?

[Bug 1569064] Re: systemctl wants to configure interfaces it shouldn't (lxdbr0)

2016-04-11 Thread Martin Pitt
Moving to ifupdown. systemd does not configure the network (unless you
set them up in networkd, but we don't do that anywhere automatically and
there's no evidence that you did, and it's networking.service that
hangs).

I also don't see much wrong about this, except maybe that
interfaces.d/50-cloud-init.cfg and interfaces.d/eth0 both configure
eth0. But the latter (created by cloud-init I suppose) is a dead file as
/e/n/interfaces only includes *.cfg files, so that shouldn't matter.

** Package changed: systemd (Ubuntu) => ifupdown (Ubuntu)

** Summary changed:

- systemctl wants to configure interfaces it shouldn't (lxdbr0)

I created a little hack and uploaded it in launchpad [1].
It can be used to see how this can be implemented and how useful it can be in
different use cases.
For now, I'm enjoying this feature on my phone/tablet :)

[Bug 1547463] Re: openvswitch-dpdk starting with DPDK_OPTS parameter

2016-04-11 Thread Hua Zhang
Finally I use the following workaround, it works for me.

sudo restart openvswitch-switch
sudo killall ovs-vswitchd
sudo ovs-vswitchd --dpdk -c 0x1 -n 2 -- unix:/var/run/openvswitch/db.sock
--pidfile --detach

hua@node1:~$ ps -ef |grep ovs-vswitchd |grep dpdk

-- unix:/var/run/openvswitch/db.sock --pidfile --detach

But I hit another following problem after executing the command 'sudo ovs-vsctl
add-port ovsbr0 dpdk0 -- set Interface dpdk0 type=dpdk':

[Bug 1569147] [NEW] onscreen keyboard doesn't trigger url bar's drop-down list

2016-04-11 Thread yoyoma2
Public bug reported:

Steps:
1) start firefox 45.0.1 for ubuntu canonical
2) using an onscreen keyboard like "onboard", type a partial url that's in your
history
= No dropdown list of suggested url's appears

Notes:
1) Typing the same characters on the physical keyboard produces the expected
dropdown list
2) Safe mode or disabling all extensions makes no difference
3) Occasionally the dropdown list may work once immediately after startup but
never more than once
4) Firefox 45 broke Windows 8 onscreen keyboard support (related?)

[Bug 1558336] Re: [needs-packaging] juju-mongo-tools3.2 in xenial, wily, and trusty

2016-04-11 Thread Michael Hudson-Doyle
I've had a whack at the packaging. I started by switching over to use
dh-golang more canonically, which gets some nice things like running the
test suite as part of the build and help making a Built-Using header.
But then I found that the upstream tests fail
(https://github.com/mongodb/mongo-tools/issues/67) and odd things about
the package mean that dh-golang's behaviour is not so useful. But I've
whacked my way to something that builds, you can see it at
https://code.launchpad.net/~mwhudson/+git/juju-mongo-tools3.2. You can
get the orig from my branch with pristine-tar, but I just got r3.2.4.tgz
from https://github.com/mongodb/mongo-tools/releases.

Are we going to be applying for an MIR for this package? If I was on the
security team I'd have some questions, I think. (IMO, as mongo-
tools at least claims to support multiple versions of mongo, I think
aggressively tracking upstream is probably the best policy).

[Bug 1567744] Re: RTNETLINK answers: Numerical result out of range for alias interface from a usb NIC

2016-04-11 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
This isn't a simple problem at all.

The new naming scheme from systemd makes it so that these specific
devices (USB dongles) get their MAC address encoded in the device name,
which brings it up to a length of 15 characters + \0; so 16 bytes. This
happens to also be the size limit for interface names (set as IFNAMSIZ
to 16). Adding more characters to the end of this string makes it too
long to be allowed by {libnl3, kernel, iproute2}. This is because while
we're not strictly dealing with interface names here, we're dealing with
a label which is bound by the same sized buffer (limited to IFNAMSIZ
size).

There are a few possible avenues for a solution:
 - Rename the address yourself to something smaller. This should be possible
using udev rules.
 - Fix systemd to pick a different naming method.
 - Fix ip addr to better deal with address labels, which may mean dropping some
backward compatibility (more below)
 - Increasing the buffer size for address labels (which means changes in the
kernel, libnl, iproute2 at the very least, and probably many more userland
utilities).

For iproute2:
   label LABEL
Each address may be tagged with a label string. In order to
preserve compatibility with Linux-2.0 net aliases, this string must coincide
with the name of the device
or must be prefixed with the device name followed by colon.
It may be possible to strip out anything before the colon if a label is passed
in that format to hand to the netlink layer a shorter label, but I haven't
looked more closely at what such a change might impact.

2016-04-11 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
I pinged pitti on IRC earlier today, and just subscribed him for
guidance on whether this can be fixed in systemd; which seems to be the
least intrusive way to handle this (aside from expecting users to know

[Bug 1568592] Re: bug of "memory.kmem.limit_in_bytes" and "memory.kmem.usage_in_bytes"

2016-04-11 Thread Cui Wei
So I think there is still bug about memory.kmem.limit_in_bytes.

If I don't limit the kmem of lxc container at the beginning,
"memory.limit_in_bytes" can be set to zero by the above step.

If I limit the kmem of lxc container at the beginning,
"memory.limit_in_bytes" cannot be set to zero, also by the above step.

Do you think it is reasonable?
