Actual used firefox is 45 into xenial; so many many changes have been made
since you report that bug.
So report again against an active version if you think the design is not what
you think it should be.

I can try, but, shouldn't that be done by the package upgrade automatically? or
at least offer me to inspect the changes in the file when it is going to be

It's not serious that every user of mysql needs to do plumbing every time that

Gecko/2009080200 SUSE/3.0.13-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.13

There are several discussions about the problem concerning cyrillic
filenames in zip archives and unzip package. Unzip out-of-the-box
(compiled from sources) does not choose filenames encoding correctly.

Developers from Ark say me, that the error is completely from info-zip
project (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204984).

There are sime patches to info-zip's unzip package, that makes unzip
extract filenames with correct encoding. But maintainers of info-zip
project rejected these patches (http://www.info-
zip.org/board/board.pl?m-1248086794).

It would be nice to include this package in main openSuSE distribution.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create zip-archive, containing files with cyrillic names under Windows.
2. Try to open it with unzip under SuSE
Actual Results:
Filename encoding is incorrect. Example:

pavel@pavel:~/tmp> unzip ReportPacket_DBV90821CJ.zip
Archive:  ReportPacket_DBV90821CJ.zip
  inflating:  ? ().pdf
  inflating:  ? (??).pdf

The library is librcc especially created for handling non utf encoded

How we can proceed then? RPM packages are built on OBS and tested.
Should we create submit request?

See attached screenshot for some cool wierdness.

This is pretty annoying now that Firefox is the default browser on KDE.

The patch fixes it - 'toolkit' was NULL at the old place, only created

Federico,

as I've already described in:
[opensuse-gnome] next issue with GNOME:STABLE: canvases aren't redrawed
correctly

it still holds true for 11.0:
I suffer from canvases and its items, that aren't redrawed correctly in teg
(a risk clone, I happily provide a src.rpm for anyone interested). This
game uses a canvas with some items, and those aren't updated correctly.
Forcing a redraw by switching screens, or moving a window over them fixes
this, but that's an unplayable state.

The fact is, it doesn't happen with upstream libgnomecanvas nor does it
happen if I prevent libgnomecanvas-no-tearing.diff from applying to the
libgnomecanvas-2.20.1.1-42.1, thus there is either a problem in your
patch, or a problem in teg.

May I ask you kindly for a fix (either way). I've attached the source
rpm of the problematic package. The applied patches just change/add some
shortcuts and a minor different default play mode..

BTW: I already tried to fix teg in some way, by sprinkle
gnome_canvas_update_now() calls to various (random) places, but all I
harvested was worser behavior. After messing in teg for a few hours, I
tried above approach, and succeeded immediately.

the xorg-edgers-ppa. This will prevent the upgrade as that PPA contains
different versions of packages essential to Ubuntu. The page,

[Bug 1571140] [NEW] nm-applet doesn't show any wifi connections after Enabling/Disabling Wifi

2016-04-15 Thread Pinghao Qi
Public bug reported:

I'm running the latest version of 16.04 with the latest applet version
1.1.93. I'm using a Thinkpad P50 laptop. On my system, the network
applet works fine when the system is newly booted, then if I either
enable and disable the wifi, or suspend the laptop and log back in, the
icon in the status bar will change to the Ethernet connection icon, and
if I click on the applet, it will only show "Wifi Networks" under the
Ethernet rows. But if I open the actual Network Manager window,
everything looks fine, it sees all the wifi hotspots in range, and the
system is connected to wifi. Everything works fine except for the applet
not showing any wifi connections what so ever.

To be more specific, the first several rows I currently have in the menu
are:

Ethernet Network
disconnected
Wifi Networks
Connect to Hidden Wi-Fi Networks...

There's no way I can get it back to displaying properly again, without
doing a reboot.

[Bug 1571138] [NEW] gnome-terminal resizes to entire desktop when un-maximised

2016-04-15 Thread Paul
Public bug reported:

Start a gnome-terminal (it should start windowed, 80x24), then maximise
it (by double clicking the title bar, clicking the maximise button,
etc.); its title bar disappears and it is now correctly maximised.

Now un-maximise the terminal (same way as before). It briefly flashes
down to its former size and position, then instantly resizes to take up
the entire desktop. So it looks like when it was maximised, except its
title bar is still visible.

Re-maximising and un-maximising from this state doesn't return the
previous dimensions; the gnome-terminal has forgotten its original size.

2016-04-15 Thread Steve Langasek
The error message shows that you are trying to install the UEFI version
of grub on a system which is not configured to use UEFI. The apt log
shows what looks like a manual request for this package's installation
on April 15, not as part of an upgrade:

Prior to this, you had the correct version of grub installed for your

Did you manually choose to install the grub-efi-amd64-signed or shim-

You said that you were installing 16.04 over 12.04, but your logs look
like a system that has been upgraded, not one that is newly installed.
Please provide more detail about the exact steps you took which
triggered this bug.

that. Feel free to close here.

[Bug 1571133] [NEW] Race condition in initialization code of ssl_PushIOLayer

2016-04-15 Thread Philipp U
Public bug reported:

I am working on an application that concurrently opens HTTPS connections
through libcurl 7.42.1 on NSS 3.18. I checked the source code, and I
believe the bug persists in the latest release of NSS, 3.23 at the time
of writing.

I noticed occasional crashes during the first few HTTP connections
opened by the application. The crashes happened when libcurl attempted
to call function pointers that were supposed to have been initialized by
ssl_SetupIOMethods.

I eventually produced a multi-threaded core dump that showed that the
crashing thread had proceeded past the SSL initialization code while
another thread was still inside ssl_InitIOLayer, a function that is only
called by ssl_PushIOLayer, where the function call is protected by
double-checked locking and PR_CallOnce.

I believe that the issue is the plain Boolean variable called ssl_inited
that is used for double-checked locking. The compiler is free to reorder
reads and writes to plain Boolean variables, and, alas, it makes use of
that freedom in my binary. Here is proof:

(gdb) l
2729
2730static PRStatus
2731ssl_InitIOLayer(void)
2732{
2733ssl_layer_id = PR_GetUniqueIdentity("SSL");
2734ssl_SetupIOMethods();
2735ssl_inited = PR_TRUE;
2736return PR_SUCCESS;
2737}
2738
(gdb) p ssl_inited
$2 = 1
(gdb) frame
#5  ssl_InitIOLayer () at sslsock.c:2734
(gdb) disassemble
Dump of assembler code for function ssl_InitIOLayer:
   0x00346f4287e0 <+0>: lea0xae39(%rip),%rdi# 0x346f433620
   0x00346f4287e7 <+7>: sub$0x8,%rsp
   0x00346f4287eb <+11>:callq  0x346f40a748
   0x00346f4287f0 <+16>:mov%eax,0x21572a(%rip)#
0x346f63df20
   0x00346f4287f6 <+22>:callq  0x346f40a208
   0x00346f4287fb <+27>:mov%rax,%rsi
   0x00346f4287fe <+30>:lea0x45b(%rip),%rax# 0x346f428c60

   0x00346f428805 <+37>:lea0x215734(%rip),%rdi#
0x346f63df40
   0x00346f42880c <+44>:mov$0x24,%ecx
   0x00346f428811 <+49>:movl   $0x1,0x215701(%rip)#
0x346f63df1c
=> 0x00346f42881b <+59>:rep movsq %ds:(%rsi),%es:(%rdi)

The assembly shows that ssl_inited is set to 1 before the call to
ssl_SetupIOMethods. This causes double-checked locking to fail and
allows other threads to proceed while ssl_InitIOLayer is still running.

#7  0x00346f42c6cb in ssl_PushIOLayer (ns=0x7fd48c0dd560,
stack=0x7fd48c0dd500, id=-2) at sslsock.c:2746
2746status = PR_CallOnce(, _InitIOLayer);
(gdb) l
2741{
2742PRFileDesc *layer   = NULL;
2743PRStatusstatus;
2744
2745if (!ssl_inited) {
2746status = PR_CallOnce(, _InitIOLayer);
2747if (status != PR_SUCCESS)
2748goto loser;
2749}

The fix is to either remove ssl_inited and always call PR_CallOnce (at
the cost of some performance), or make sure the compiler does not
reorder accesses to ssl_inited. The best way to do the latter is
platform dependant. I assume the Mozilla libraries have some utility
code for this purpose (atomic Booleans and such).

[Bug 255149]

2016-04-15 Thread Mercurial
details:
http://icedtea.classpath.org//people/andrew/icedtea8?cmd=changeset;node=8dc6e1ff8ccf
author: Andrew John Hughes
date: Thu May 20 14:37:32 2010 +0100

Fix a number of issues and enable the Rhino rewriter in the
build.

2010-02-17 Andrew John Hughes

PR icedtea/179
* ChangeLog: Remove rogue whitespace highlighted
by emacs.
* Makefile.am:
(REWRITER_SRCS): Sources for class file rewriter.
Only set RHINO_JAR when WITH_RHINO is set. Point
to rewritten JAR file in build directory. Add
rewriter and license to EXTRA_DIST. Make icedtea,
icedtea-debug and icedtea-boot depend on rewrite-rhino.stamp.
(stamps/rewriter.stamp): Build the class file rewriter.
(stamps/rewrite-rhino.stamp): Rewrite the system Rhino JAR
file to use the sun.org.mozilla namespace to avoid conflicts.
(rewriter): New alias for stamps/rewriter.stamp.
(rewrite-rhino): Likewise for stamps/rewrite-rhino.stamp.
* patches/icedtea-rhino.patch:
Copy rather than symlink the JAR file. Only drop the
internal suffix on the javascript package names.
* rewriter/com/redhat/rewriter/ClassRewriter.java:
(executor): Use a single threaded executor when
debugging is enabled.
(tasks): Store the Futures returned by the executor
for later checking.
(main(String[])): Log what happens when processFile
returns and handle any exceptions using Futures.
(call()): Ensure srcDir/destDir replacement always
matches with a trailing slash to avoid odd rewrites.
Loop directory creation to avoid possible race issues.
Increase logging and fix a number of issues with the rewrite:
  * Fix off-by-one loop bug so final entry is inspected.
  * Handle double entries which occur with 8-byte entries
(doubles and longs):

[Bug 1294600] Re: Add support for tear-free compositing in Xfce

2016-04-15 Thread Sean Davis
I'd really recommend building and installing it yourself if you are
capable.

Otherwise (and I strongly recommend against using this PPA for anything
other than xfwm4) you can find a daily package in my experimental PPA. I
can't guarantee any support and it may be there today, gone tomorrow.
