[Bug 1579620] [NEW] error: unable to locate lldb-server

2016-05-08 Thread Emma Krantz
Public bug reported:

Release: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

After installing lldb from the repositories, I get the following output
when I try to use it:

lldb foo
(lldb) target create "foo"
Current executable set to 'foo' (x86_64).
(lldb) r
error: process launch failed: unable to locate lldb-server

I made a copy of /usr/bin/lldb-server-3.8 and named it /usr/bin/lldb-
server. This solved the problem. I think this is most likely a problem
with the installation of the package, rather than lldb itself.

[Bug 1579619] [NEW] [mk-sbuild] treats armhf as foreign to arm64

2016-05-08 Thread Adam Conrad
Public bug reported:

[ SRU Justification ]
qemu-debootstrap is rather fragile and doesn't always work as expected, and
mk-sbuild treats armhf as foreign to arm64 when it shouldn't, thus forcing the
use of qemu-debootstrap. This causes issues in production for Canonical
Jenkins slaves trying to run mk-sbuild --arch=armhf on arm64 hosts.

[ Test Case ]
Run mk-build --arch=armhf on an arm64 machine and confirm that is doesn't use
the --foreign flag to debootstrap and that it succeeds.

[ Regression Potential ]
Pretty much nil.

[Bug 1572211] Re: vmhgfs module not built

2016-05-08 Thread Jamie Lokier
The project maintainers are welcome to declare vmhgfs unsupported, but
until they do I think the current situation is a regression in
functionality. vmhgfs-fuse just isn't a functional replacement yet.

(Background: I am using VMWare Fusion 8.0 on a Mac. I had a working
system which has broke on upgrading to Ubuntu 16.04 due to vmhgfs going
away, and unfortunately after trying a number of methods I still haven't
found a solution to replace it. NFS and CIFS to the host have not
worked out, and Samba client is currently broken. I am rather
desparately now trying a patched vmhgfs-fuse, but having vmhgfs kernel
module available would be more welcome.)

[Bug 1572211] Re: vmhgfs module not built

2016-05-08 Thread Jamie Lokier
The vmhgfs-fuse client is too buggy to use for some things, such as running Git,
as reported (by me) at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/open-vm-tools/+bug/1579544

Even if that's fixed, the vmhgfs-fuse client has different behaviour
with file permissions and creating files on the host, compared with the
vmhgfs kernel module.

So until vmhgfs-fuse supports most of the functionality and fairly
reliably, it would still be useful to be able to use the vmhgfs kernel
module.

[Bug 1550823] Re: checkarray doesn't work with sh = dash

2016-05-08 Thread James Johnston
I can confirm that checkarray is broken out-of-the-box on Ubuntu 16.04
due to this issue. So, periodic checks of the RAID array don't happen
unless I do my own scheduling and avoid checkarray, or else repair
checkarray itself using one of the workarounds here...

I changed my checkarray script to explicitly use bash, but next time I
upgrade this package, the changes will be lost unless this gets fixed...
My change to use bash instead made checkarray start doing something
useful...

The suggest at https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=787950
to use cat instead of read is a good one, and only a one-line change.
(Preferably without waiting for Debian upstream to fix it?)

[Bug 1579610] [NEW] drm.ko < kernel version 4.5 has a dead lock bug

2016-05-08 Thread Qiang Yu
Public bug reported:

This bug go the code path
drvers/gpu/drm/{drm_prime.c,drm_gem.c}

drm_gem_prime_fd_to_handle()
| mutex_lock(_priv->prime.lock);
| drm_gem_handle_create_tail()
| | dev->driver->gem_open_object() (for amdgpu.ko driver, this is
amdgpu_gem_object_open)
| | drm_gem_handle_delete()
| | | drm_gem_remove_prime_handles()
| | | | mutex_lock(>prime.lock);

This causes the dead lock if gem_open_object() return with error.

Patch fixing this is already in Linux 4.5:

[Bug 1579609] [NEW] [Xenial] >>>WARNING<<< Wrong ufstype may corrupt your filesystem, default is ufstype=old

2016-05-08 Thread Yung Shen

+ After booting, the first screen appears black, then I need to make a click
with mouse to call the login screen. and it happens when I lock the screen, it
goes blank. But it does not happen with a laptop/desktop with single primary
panel, only happens with a system with external panel and with
lightdm+lightdm-gtk-greeter combination as installing gdm fixes the issue.

2016-05-08 Thread Andrew
Stephen, good to hear. Sounds like we are on the right track. I would
agree.

Currently testing 4.1.23 which is the last in the 4.1.x line and it
seems stable. I will now attempt to see if i can test any of the
releases in between. I will try 4.1.5 first if i can. The odd thing
about all the ones in between 4.1.23 and 4.2.0 stable are all marked as
unstable. Not sure what that means, but perhaps that hints that this bug
came from an unstable kernel line that was never completely fixed. These
are the only kernels in this ppa that are marked as such. Wish me luck.

current status:

4.1.23-040123-generic #201604281334
good

4.2.0-040200-generic
bad

[Bug 1282900] Re: compiz static window switcher no longer displaying window titles after upgrade

2016-05-08 Thread IMarvinTPA
I really would like to have the title bar show up with the icon of the
application. Otherwise, the windows are indistinguishable and I'm
randomly picking between my Firefox or Files windows. I like the static
switcher so I can plan out how much tabbing I'll need to get to the
window I may want. Please fix this. I disable making the window come
forward because the motion of the desktop is distracting. The
thumbnails are useless when you have lots of windows like I have.

Thanks,
IMarv

[Bug 1578118] Re: DPDK compile error with ubuntu 16.04 glibc 2.23-0ubuntu3

2016-05-08 Thread 沈游人
Thanks, Christian

Set CONFIG_RTE_BUILD_COMBINE_LIBS as y surely can avoid this error
message. But as you said, the combined build is not an option. Also
15.10 can build in the counter way that set
CONFIG_RTE_BUILD_COMBINE_LIBS=y. However, I can understand this is not a
critical bug and should not spend to much time. I will rollback to 15.10
for develop.

Thanks for your help!

[Bug 1568899] Re: ld: a.out: hidden symbol `__cpu_model' in /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/5/libgcc.a(cpuinfo.o) is referenced by DSO

2016-05-08 Thread David Yip
I too have encountered this problem when updating build images to use
Ubuntu 16.04. The build images are used to build an application built
on SFML.

I have been able to work around the problem with a privately patched
clone of SFML that incorporates Jakub Jelinek's and Dan Kegel's
suggestions (see
http://web.archive.org/web/20160509014317/https://gitlab.peach-
bun.com/pinion/SFML/commit/3383b4a472f0bd16a8161fb8760cd3e6333f1782.patch
for a patch against SFML 2.3.2), but maintaining a private clone is
overhead that I'd prefer to eliminate.

[Bug 1574982] Re: Cannot use CONFIG_CC_STACKPROTECTOR_STRONG: -fstack-protector-strong not supported by compiler

2016-05-08 Thread Nazar Mokrynskyi
I was able to compile HHVM and Nvidia binary driver by reverting GCC
package to older version, now Xenial uses newer packages by default,
which makes compilation out of the box impossible.

This doesn't feel like dkms-specific issue, since HHVM is very different
thing and suffers from the same issue.

[Bug 1579590] [NEW] Problem still exists

2016-05-08 Thread Lee Underwood
Public bug reported:

I just started having the problem given over at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udev/+bug/875543?comments=all

I have tried all the methods given on the page but to no avail. I am
using Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS. This just happened tonight for the first time
in the several years I have been using Ubuntu.

Has any proper way to fix this been found yet? (I have all the updates
on my system.)

[Bug 1579589] [NEW] Keyboard is disappeared on ubuntu touch

2016-05-08 Thread alexisme
Public bug reported:

I was using my bq aquaris e4.5 (ubuntu 15.04, OTA-10.1 [most recent
"official" actualisation]) and suddenly my keyboard disappeared!

It simply doesn't exist anymore! I have tried to restart my phone many
times, but nothing changes, the keyboard doesn't appear anymore!

Is there anyway to have my keyboard back?

(I'm not a real expert of programming (not at all!))

I hope that there is a useful solution, because it is impossible to use
such a phone! I can't do nothing like that…

[Bug 1579576] Re: Default /boot partition way to little when encryption is choosen

2016-05-08 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1579576/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1579587] [NEW] Firefox ignores default intl.accept_languages value

2016-05-08 Thread Orzech
Public bug reported:

1) Description: Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Release:16.04

2) firefox:
  Zainstalowana: 46.0+build5-0ubuntu0.16.04.2
  Kandydująca: 46.0+build5-0ubuntu0.16.04.2

3) Firefox should send Accept-Language header containing "pl,en-
US;q=0.7,en;q=0.3".

4) Firefox sends Accept-Language header in the form of "en-US,en;q=0.5"

Firefox does this even though intl.accept_languages is by default set to
"pl, en-US, en" and settings look alright in GUI ("Content" page).

Looks like this value is ignored until Firefox "thinks" it was set by
user manually (value's status changes from "default" to "user's" in
about:config).

The workaround is to double click intl.accept_languages value in
about:config and click "OK" button without changing anything.

[Bug 1470250] Re: [Hyper-V] Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Generation 2 SCSI Errors on VSS Based Backups

2016-05-08 Thread Joseph Salisbury
I have been testing the kernel with commit cd4842f4(1c8349a17 in
mainline) reverted for three days now without hitting the bug. It's
looking very promising that commit cd4842f4 is what introduced this bug.

I'll continue to test this kernel for a few more days to ensure it's
stable. It would be great if you could test it when you get a chance as
well, @faulpeltz.

[Bug 1579586] [NEW] ppc64el node maas install failing talking to mpath0

2016-05-08 Thread Brad Marshall
Public bug reported:

I'm trying to install a PPC64EL node with Xenial via MAAS 1.9.2 using
Juju 1.25.5 and it seems to be failing due to a possible multipath
issue. The node is setup in maas with a default single partition. The
boot logs show:

  Begin: Running /scripts/init-premount ... done.
Begin: Mounting root file system ... Begin: Running /scripts/local-top ...
lvmetad is not active yet, using direct activation during sysinit
Volume group "mpath0" not found
Cannot process volume group mpath0
  done.

and then multiple repeats of:

Begin: Waiting for root file system ... Begin: Running /scripts/local-block
... lvmetad is not active yet, using direct activation during sysinit
Volume group "mpath0" not found
Cannot process volume group mpath0
  done.

To finally fail with:

Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems:
   - Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
 - Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
 - Check root= (did the system wait for the right device?)
   - Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! /dev/mapper/mpath0-part2 does not exist. Dropping to a shell!
Rebooting automatically due to panic= boot argument

$ dpkg-query -W maas
maas1.9.2+bzr4568-0ubuntu1~trusty1
$ dpkg-query -W juju-core
juju-core 1.25.5-0ubuntu1~14.04.2~juju1

Kernel version booting on the PPC64EL node is Linux version
4.4.0-21-generic.

Please let me know what further information you require to debug this.

Thanks,
Brad
