[Bug 1594118] [NEW] Indicator shows outdated translates

2016-06-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I've just upgraded Ubuntu and noticed that Evolution Indicator (under
the Email symbol in the top right corner next to the time) is showing
outdated translations for Scottish Gaelic (gd).

This one
https://translations.launchpad.net/evolution-indicator/trunk/+pots/evolution-indicator/gd/7/+translate
was fixed
Translated and reviewed by GunChleoc on 2013-09-14
but it's still showing

"app-install-data-ubuntu" by alasdair caimbeul on 2011-12-17

There may be others but I haven't checked. Is it possible that there is
something broken about the way this module pulls its translations?

[Bug 759619] Re: banshee cannot access last.fm account

2016-06-20 Thread michael
This seems to be a rather general issue with Banshee - I have the issue as
Casper, but noticed the very same also on Fedora 23 with Gnome. I am behind no
proxy and http_proxy is set to null.
Victors comment did not help, neither did the other steps I have found.

[Bug 1470730] Re: [HP EliteBook 840 G2, Realtek ALC3228, HP UltraSlim Dock 2013] Line in/Line out on docking station doesn't work

2016-06-20 Thread val-s
It's funny.. I have not been able to get it to work correctly; On my
machine, I have 0x1b as the line-out and 0x18 as the line-in as well.

When I override 0x1b with the above settings, no sound comes out on
line-out, although pavucontrol shows activity.

When I override 0x18 with the exact same settings, I get sound out on
the line-in.

So I'm currently using the line-in as the line-out. It's a bit unpleasant since
I'm getting quite a few pops and clicks, but I'm not sure if it's related to
this funky setup.

[Bug 1583624] Re: Mir cannot open a tty when started by lightdm

2016-06-20 Thread Robert Ancell
** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+ LightDM reports the system compositor socket to Mir clients using the

[Bug 1575200] Re: Error connecting to X server via IPv6

2016-06-20 Thread Robert Ancell
** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+ LightDM doesn't pick the best IPv6 address on offer from clients (picks
link-local addresses over non link-local).
+
+ [Test Case]
+ 1. Start LightDM with XDMCP server enabled
+ 2. Connect XDMCP client that sends IPv6 link-local addresses to LightDM
+
+ Expected result:
+ LightDM picks a non link-local address and is able to connect to the client
+
+ Observed result:
+ LightDM picks the link-local address address if it is first
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ Small risk of behaviour change due to new IP selection method.
+
+ Original report:
+
I've discovered a problem in lightdm XDMCP using link-local IPv6 addresses
without interface index to connect to X server.
It has been originally reported at
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1322775.

The problem can be fixed by having the XDMCP client not transmitting
link-local addresses in the request, but if it does, lightdm XDMCP
server can be a lot smarter if the attached patch is applied.

It changes the X server address selection order to set the lowest
preference to link-local addresses, even if matching the source address
  or family.

This is not 100% full-proof: if only link-local addresses have been
received, one of them is used anyway. In this case, a complete solution
would be to determine and set the address interface index if not
  ambiguous.

- However, this patch fixes the problem for most of the non-pathological

[Bug 1594229] Re: Not able to use multiple USC instances

2016-06-20 Thread Robert Ancell
** Changed in: lightdm/1.18
Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released

** Changed in: lightdm (Ubuntu Xenial)
   Status: Triaged => Fix Committed

** Description changed:

- LightDM currently uses one Unity System Compositor instance per Mir
- session for the xlocal seat. This is not allowed with modern versions of
- USC. We should share one USC in this case.
+ [Impact]
+ If more than one Mir session is running in an xlocal seat LightDM will
attempt to launch one Unity System Compositor per session. This used to work
but now USC only allows a single instance.
+
+ [Test Case]
+ 1. Start LightDM
+ 2. Log into a Mir session
+ 3. Switch to the greeter
+ 3. Log into another Mir session (with a second user)
+
+ Expected result:
+ Second session shows.
+
+ Observed result:
+ Can't log in because USC won't start a second time.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+ Some refactoring was required to make this work, which could cause a
regression. Existing regression tests reduce this risk.

[Bug 1594658] [NEW] diskless setup with nfs mounted home hangs on shutdown/reboot

2016-06-20 Thread Sergey Frolov
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 16.04 fresh install hangs when shutting down.
The system is diskless PXE-booted with a couple of nfs mounted directories
including homedir.

As I have no persistent storage whatsoever, I don't have any logs, but
in debug-shell, running journalctl -f I can see that it hangs at

[ *] (1 of 2) A stop job running for Raise Network Interfaces (10s / 1min
30s)Jun 20 20:23:05 $hostname kernel: nfs: server $nfs-ip-address not
responding, still trying
Jun 20 20:23:05 $hostname kernel: nfs: server $nfs-ip-address not responding,
still trying
Jun 20 20:23:14 $hostname kernel: nfs: server $nfs-ip-address not responding,
still trying
Jun 20 20:24:08 $hostname kernel: nfs: server $nfs-ip-address not responding,
still trying

Second job in "(1 of 2)" is thermald, turning it off does not fix the problem.
Also, this counter "(10s / 1min 30s)" stops visually updating.

server $nfs-ip-address is not responding, because, all network
interfaces are already down at this point.

I am not exactly sure why this happens. Looks like there is a wrong
ordering of shutdown of systemd services, which bring down interfaces
before something nfs-related, but I am not sure if that's the reason of
hanging.

Workaround that fixes the problem:
In /lib/systemd/system/networking.service

Hi, I synced this for you after first test-building it locally and in my
PPA but it failed the autopkgtest so it's stuck in -proposed.

Maybe we need that fix_test_domain.patch after all?

[Bug 1594644] [NEW] error: the required argument : was not provided.

2016-06-20 Thread Sneetsher
Public bug reported:

After installing ufw using snap. Snap fails to connect interfaces,
raising the following error message:

$ ufw
Could not use iptables. Please run:
  'sudo snap connect ufw:firewall-control ubuntu-core:firewall-control'

$ sudo snap connect ufw:firewall-control ubuntu-core:firewall-control
error: the required argument : was not provided.

However, I found a trick that make snap accept it. Documented in
https://askubuntu.com/questions/787529/16-04-lts-ufw-version

1. Run

sudo snap connect snappy-debug:log-observe ubuntu-core:log-observe

You get an error ignore it.

1. Then again run

sudo snap connect ufw:firewall-control ubuntu-core:firewall-control

Now, it does work without problem.

I tested qshutdown on xenial with version 1.6.8-1 and 1.7 as well. No such
issue.
As the report is not official, I won't be able to reproduce this.
I checked again and there seem to be many other applications reported with the
very same bug. This definitely is a framework bug and might be connected to a
specific version at the users system.
If no other information gets released, I will simply close this bug.

[Bug 1594641] [NEW] removing swap partition does not remove entry from /etc/fstab

2016-06-20 Thread Donald Pellegrino
Public bug reported:

I used gnome-disk-utility to deactivate the swap partition. I then used
it to delete the swap partition. Both operations seem to have worked in
gnome-disk-utility however it is not clear that the free space size
increased correspondingly. The entry for the swap partition in
/etc/fstab remained and still pointed to the partition that was deleted
in gnome-disk-utility.

The expected behavior is that when a swap partition is deleted in gnome-
disk-utility the corresponding /etc/fstab entry should also be removed.

[Bug 1594634] [NEW] ZFS on iscsi target fails at boot/shutdown

2016-06-20 Thread Rob
Public bug reported:

I've got a ZFS volume on an ISCSI target, once the system boots I can
bring it online.

My ISCSI target shows up as:

root@test:/home/rob# lsblk
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
sda 8:00 8.1T 0 disk

root@test:/home/rob# zpool status
  pool: data2
 state: ONLINE
  scan: none requested
config:

NAMESTATE READ WRITE CKSUM
data2 ONLINE 0 0 0
  sda ONLINE 0 0 0

errors: No known data errors

root@test:/home/rob# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
--- snip --
data2 3.1T 0 3.1T 0% /data2
data2/backup3.2T 165G 3.1T 6% /data2/backup
data2/test 7.7T 4.7T 3.1T 61% /data2/test

However in the case of a system shutdown/reboot the system tries to
unmount the disk after the network has been brought down which obviously
fails.

When booting the system the zpool never gets imported as the 'zfs-
import-cache.service' runs before the iscsi target is initiated.

Re: [Bug 1559805] Re: suspend not working with latest xenial and kernel 4.4.0

2016-06-20 Thread brett hassall
Chris

Is this still helpful given the move from xorg -> linux by Timo?

It seems more link a linux driver problem. I don't think I even have the
xorg radeon/ati driver installed. I did try installing it to see if it
helped but the suspend would still hang.

Thanks

[Bug 1594631] [NEW] Window moved to another monitor after coming back from screen lock

2016-06-20 Thread Hoon Choi
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open an application (tested Firefox and LibreOffice Writer; same behaviour
is observed with both) on desktop with two monitors.
2. Open another window of the same application (by pressing Ctrl+N).
3. Move the new window to the other monitor so that each monitor has a window
open.
4. Maximize both windows.
5. Open another application (tested Terminal). Keep the focus on this
application.
6. Wait until the screen goes to sleep and locks due to inactivity (the default
is 5 minutes).
7. Unlock the screen by entering password.
8. One of the maximized windows is moved to the other monitor, so one monitor
has both windows.

Affected machine configuration:

- AMD Radeon R9 280X (w/ 'radeon' driver)
- 1920x1200 screen (monitor 1) and 1920x1080 screen (monitor 2) connected to
the Radeon R9 280X
 - monitor 2 is set to the left of monitor 1 in System Settings
- Ubuntu 16.04 fresh install with updates applied
- Intel Core i5-3570K

[Bug 1594627] [NEW] "apt show" reports misleading conflicts

2016-06-20 Thread Bernd Wechner
Public bug reported:

Packages are reported to conflict with themselves when they actually
conflict with a different architecture version of themselves.

For example (and as illustrated below using "apt show" and "apt-cache
depends") musepack-tools is reported to conflict with musepack-tools
(according to "apt show") but in reality (as revealed by "apt-cache
depends") conflicts with musepack-tools:i386.

That is misleading and concerning when read for the first time by
probably anyone and apparently a known issue:

http://askubuntu.com/questions/106203/why-do-some-packages-conflict-
with-themselves

I consider it a bug and file so accordingly. "apt show", should not
mislead as it does, but show at least the same output as "apt-cache
depends" does here.

Example runs:

$ apt show musepack-tools
Package: musepack-tools
State: installed
Automatically installed: no
Version: 2:0.1~r459-1ubuntu3
Priority: optional
Section: universe/sound
Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers
Architecture: amd64
Uncompressed Size: 342 k
Depends: libc6 (>= 2.15), libcue1, libmpcdec6 (>= 1:0.1~r435), libreplaygain1
 (>= 1.0~r412)
Conflicts: musepack-tools
Description: MusePack commandline utilities
Musepack is an audio compression format with a strong emphasis on high quality.
It's not lossless, but it is designed for transparency, so that you won't be
able to hear differences between the original wave file and the much smaller
 MPC file.

It is based on the MPEG-1 Layer-2 / MP2 algorithms, but since 1997 it has
rapidly developed and vastly improved and is now at an advanced stage in which
it contains heavily optimized and patentless code.

This package contains various commandline utilities for MusePack files:
 * mpcenc (encoder)
 * mpcdec (decoder)
 * mpccut (cut MPC files without reencoding)
 * mpcgain (gain calculation)
 * mpc2sv8 (conversion to MusePack SV8 from older SV)

[Bug 1571786] Re: Broadcom 43602 requires module to be reloaded to work

On my latest updated Ubuntu 16.04 with my Dell XPS 15 9550, the problem
is just aesthetical (the wrong icon is showing). Maybe we should close
this issue with latest kernel? (and focus just on the wrong icon?)

[Bug 1594614] Re: Ubuntu 16.04 - Broadcom Corporation BCM43602

2016-06-20 Thread Cruz Fernandez
After some digging, there are several related/similar issues to what I'm
seeing on my laptop (also reported on Macbook pro, as it has a very
similar wifi module):

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1577113

** Summary changed:

- Ubuntu 16.04 - Broadcom Corporation BCM43602
+ Ubuntu 16.04 - Broadcom Corporation BCM43602 - wrong icon after resume

** Description changed:

+ From time to time the wifi icon disappears and it appears a cabled icon
+ (after suspend and resume)
+
On startup it shows some strange errors on dmesg:

[Bug 1594612] Re: package linux-image-extra-3.16.0-73-generic (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: cannot copy extracted data for './lib/modules/3.16.0-73-generic/kernel/drivers/usb/image/mdc800

2016-06-20 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your
issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory
corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a
memory test. Thanks in advance!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1301083] Re: Drag and Drop File Auto Opens Folders

2016-06-20 Thread Alexandros
This bug makes organizing files with Nautilus on Ubuntu 16.04
irritating.

It's been 2 years since the original bug report.

Can somebody please look into this? Pretty please with sugar on top!

If this behavior is considered a feature by the Nautilus team, then at
least give us an option in the settings to set a time delay before the
folders open on hover.
