Thank you and that's correct. This issue arrived for the first time with

[Bug 1561250] Re: Xenial vagrant image is missing its hostname in /etc/hosts

2016-07-05 Thread Robert Hafner
Presumably they'll stick to the "S" in LTS and backport this change, but
I can understand their desire to test it quickly before diving in.

I also understand limited resources. However, I think a reprioritization
is in order here. This bug was not a difficult or time consuming one to
solve. Further, in order for people to use Ubuntu in production
environments they have to use them in test environments. Vagrant allows
us to do this easily, and for people developing software or looking at
upgrading infrastructure and looking to test compatibility it's really
nice to have a quick to use (and free) server that we can test on. This
bug has actually stopped my company from upgrading our main
infrastructure to the latest LTS because of our use of vagrant for
testing and development.

[Bug 1583437] Re: Directly after boot there is no network

2016-07-05 Thread Steven
Chris,

Sorry it has taken me sometime to get to this.

I started working towards finding a kernel that does not have my
problem. I must have been mistaken on what version I thought did not do
this. as every mainline or Ubuntu kernel from 3 up to 4.7 I have this
issue with. Some are worse then others. I cant get you a commit as i
cannot find a kernel it does not happen in.

On that note. Ubuntu has pushed 4.4.0-24 and 28. 28 occurs every boot,
as 24 is only every few. 22 seems to be the most stable as it only
happens one out of every 15 boots.

Ideas?

[Bug 1599349] Re: Ubuntu-Touch closing apps/screens on reboot

2016-07-05 Thread Phil UK
Once again, lets take a small step back and look at this from the users
point of view. Why would you need me to attach (or even see the) log
files to see that if you have for example; browser, Dotty, Dekko and
Settings open before you restart your phone or tablet. On start-up these
apps/screens will not be available when you swipe from the right of your
screen.

I tried to get the logs and then install python-support, but I am unable
to on my phone. I am sure that in your dev environment or test device
you can reproduce this without the need of the logs.

[Bug 1585611] Re: saving file in umbrello not working on Ubuntu 16.04

2016-07-05 Thread ErikMartre
Unfortunately, previous version on 16.04 crashes when adding
multiplicity to an association. So I had to come back to up-to-date one
and add the packages listed above by Ingo Haschler.

Fortunately, since I had installed various packages in order to satisfy
dependencies for previous version and not removed them, I can now enjoy
a "full iconic menu" ! I'm afraid though they will disappear at next
"apt-get autoremove"...

[Bug 1580500] Re: No way to share calendar invites/events with calendar-app

2016-07-05 Thread Bill Filler
I think a few things would need to happen on the content-hub and calendar side
first
1) content-hub would need to add a new type ContentHub.Calendar (until proper
mime-type support lands in content-hub). See
https://developer.ubuntu.com/api/apps/qml/sdk-15.04.4/Ubuntu.Content.ContentType/
2) Calendar app would register as content-hub destination for this content-type
3) Calendar app needs implement a content-hub importer for text/calendar files
that would be invoked by content-hub operation. For first cut imported calendar
events would be saved to the default calendar as specified in calendar settings.

[Bug 1577170] Re: screen cannot be turned back on after being switched off after some time of inactivity

2016-07-05 Thread Michel Dänzer
Does this updated version of the patch work better? If not:

The black screen when changing between one and two monitors never
happens without this patch?

Please attach the output of xrandr --verbose when both monitors are
enabled.

P.S. Thanks for reporting the compile warning, but it's harmless and not
related to my patches or your issues.

[Bug 1490349] Re: 15:10 and 16.04: bluetoothd reports "Not enough handles to register service" at start

2016-07-05 Thread Paul Pianta
I messed around with this for ages with no luck on my Dell XPS 13 9350.
It seemed to even screw up the bluetooth when I rebooted back into
windows where I wasn't able to remove and re-pair my Microsoft Sculpt
Comfort Mouse.

Then through freak chance I plugged in an older microsoft usb mouse
(with the nano transceiver) and started using that. Not sure why but
later on I retried connecting my Sculpt bluetooth mouse and boom - it
worked straight away.

Was having the same trouble with bluetooth on my other laptop ASUS
Zenbook 305CA but did a full reinstall (Linux Mint 18) with only the usb
mouse plugged in. After install - tried to connect the bluetooth mouse
and it connected first time.

I'm aware that the usb mouse thing could be a total red herring but for
me it is the only thing I can think of out of everything I was trying
that actually made a difference - and on 2 different laptops so I'm
thinking there might be something there for other people to at least try
:/

[Bug 1599349] [NEW] Ubuntu-Touch closing apps/screens on reboot

2016-07-05 Thread Phil UK
Public bug reported:

When I turn my Ubuntu phone off, on restart all of my previously open
screens/apps are now closed. This is a bit annoying as I need to open
everything up again. In Android, if you turn off your phone and then
start it up again, all the apps, pages and such like, that you had open
before the shut-down/reboot are all still visible on start-up. I really
think it is something that new users coming to Ubuntu Touch will be
expecting as standard.

[Bug 1590985] Re: Wifi non-functional after suspend (Intel 6205)

2016-07-05 Thread James Ferguson
I have been watching the Network Manager applet after suspend and seeing
the problem a lot, but then I noticed that even though it's saying i
have no connectivity (or available networks), I am actually connected.
I have to assume this was always the case and I didn't notice!

So, I assume that makes it a network manager applet bug, and not a Linux
kernel bug?

[Bug 1597961] Re: Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth 4.0 not working on Ubuntu 16.04

2016-07-05 Thread Antonio Vinicius Menezes Medeiros
That is the transceiver for my Microsoft Wireless Desktop 800 (wireless
keyboard + mouse combo):

https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/products/keyboards/wireless-
desktop-800/2lf-00023

Sorry, I usually turn my notebook on with it already plugged. Before
running those commands and reporting this bug, I switched to notebook's
own keyboard and touchpad and removed the transceiver, thinking it could
interfere with tests. It ended up caught anyway by Ubuntu's detailed
reports. It seems like Bluetooth is the technology behind that
Microsoft's proprietary piece of hardware :)

I ran those commands again, this time with that transceiver plugged in:

I have just tried

It works OK, however, they assume that server configuration is in
/etc/openvpn/server/.conf, in current ubuntu package it is:
/etc/openvpn/.conf that is the only issue. Everything else is great. So
if you take those files from upstream, ppl will have to change directory
structure a bit, not sure if that is a big issue or not.

[Bug 1078068] Re: Video blinking blue during incoming call

2016-07-05 Thread Nish Aravamudan
Ok, so I figured it was best to test the version in Yakkety. I rebuilt
in Xenial locally and tested it, it fixed the problem for me! So that's
exciting.

I've put this in the same PPA as
2:2.99.917+git20160522-1ubuntu1~16.04ppa1. I'm not sure it's appropriate
to SRU the whole version, but given we're running a git snapshot (it
seems) in 16.04 too, maybe it'd be fine. I'm going to update some of the
bug metadata to make it clear where the bug is.

[Bug 1078068] Re: Video blinking blue during incoming call

2016-07-05 Thread Nish Aravamudan
I built it at:

https://launchpad.net/~nacc/+archive/ubuntu/lp1078068

However, in my testing, it did not fix the underlying issue. It was not
quite the blue flickering, but it still flickered badly and would not
resize with the Skype window. If I find some time tomorrow, I will see
if there is a better fix I can find. It's possible I misunderstood
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93461#c10 and Philipp
simply used a tree at that HEAD.

So, right now i am working with new (native ubuntu, 5.37) libbluetooth

all, only disconnects. So i guess the reason for lags is in bluez

[Bug 1599327] [NEW] gnome-session crashes with pixman_region32_init_rect: Invalid rectangle passed

When the problem appears, all the computer screens stop showing the apps (and

There is one person on the Ceph mailing list who thinks this is fixed in
4.7rc6 (http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.file-
systems.ceph.user/30793/focus=30987). Unfortunately, I haven't been able
to figure out a precise patch set that can be applied to 4.4 to fix it.
