[Bug 1624985] [NEW] Maximised windows won't fill space after a reboot where the resolution is larger
Public bug reported: This effects 32-bit Lubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, when a laptop is plugged into a 1920x1080 monitor through HDMI and the laptops display is off. Whilst logged-in my resolution is set to 1600x900 so that it scales correctly, when it is set to 1080p the edges of the screen are outside of the monitor, but it looks fine in 1600x900. However when it reboots the booting up process and the login screen are in 1920x1080, (in-built laptop display is also on during log on) once you've logged in it changes back to 1600x900, however when you maximize a window it only takes up three quarters of the space until you cause it to redraw, this can be done by changing the resolution then changing it back, or by changing the size of the task-bar. After doing that all windows will now take up the full space. I do have Docky installed, by turning that off doesn't help, I'm also not using any restricted graphic card drivers. But I do have Compton Composition manger installed and use a config file like this: http://duncanlock.net/blog/2013/06/07/how-to-switch-to-compton-for- beautiful-tear-free-compositing-in-xfce/#id8 ** Affects: openbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1624985 Title: Maximised windows won't fill space after a reboot where the resolution is larger To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openbox/+bug/1624985/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1624705] Re: X fonts disappear after suspend/resume cycle
Eugene Shkel, in order to allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D ? Please keep in mind the following: 1) The one to test is at the very top line at the top of the page (not the daily folder). 2) The release names are irrelevant. 3) The folder time stamps aren't indicative of when the kernel actually was released upstream. 4) Install instructions are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . If testing on your main install would be inconvenient, one may: 1) Install Ubuntu to a different partition and then test this there. 2) Backup, or clone the primary install. If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where X, and Y are the first two numbers of the kernel version, and Z is the release candidate number if it exists. If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Also, you don't need to apport-collect further unless specifically requested to do so. It is most helpful that after testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, you mark this report Status Confirmed. Lastly, to keep this issue relevant to upstream, please continue to test the latest mainline kernel as it becomes available. Thank you for your help. ** Tags removed: bios-outdated-a16 ** Tags added: latest-bios-a16 ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Low => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1624705 Title: X fonts disappear after suspend/resume cycle To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1624705/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1555567] Re: License information from the store not being used
I had an attempt at solving this in snapd with the attached patch. This passes through the "license" field from the store [1] and can make a search in gnome-software show this license field. However, this field doesn't exist for installed snaps. This is because the snap metadata doesn't contain this field and instead contains differently defined license fields [2] (it refers to a license file, not a string). This needs some design input to progress. It seems to me that one of the following needs to occur: - The license file that is referred in the snap YAML would have to be copied into the store database. This file could then be accessed either from the store or from a locally installed snap. This has the downsides that common license (e.g. GPL) are hard to match (requires checking the whole license file) and extra data would need to be downloaded (as opposed to a short string). - The snap YAML would gain the license field as used in the store. The existing license file could remain for non-common / complex licenses. The downside of this is that existing snaps might have a license set in the store but not in the .snap file (searching in gnome-software would show a license but after install it would not). [1] http://search.apps.ubuntu.com/docs/#package [2] http://snapcraft.io/docs/build-snaps/syntax ** Patch added: "0001-Pass-through-license-field-from-the-store.patch" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/167/+attachment/4743358/+files/0001-Pass-through-license-field-from-the-store.patch ** Changed in: gnome-software (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/167 Title: License information from the store not being used To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/167/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1447909] Re: external mic not detected on machines with alc256 codec
@mmifas, According to the alsa-info.txt of the #20, it looks like the audio driver did not detect the headphone/headset plugging event at all, if it detects the plug/unplug event, the pulseaudio will automatically switch the output from the speaker to headphone, don't need you to manually change the alsamixer stuffs. I guess after you plug in the headphone/headset, the output still only comes from speaker, then you use some way (like using the pavucontrol mentioned in the #13) to let the headphone work, but the driver and pulseaudio still think the headphone is not plugged, as a result the sound will be played out both from the speaker and headphone. Please check /proc/interrupts on your machine, and notice the line end with the key word snd_hda_intel, this is the interrupt count for sound driver, plug and unplug the headset/headphone, let us see if this will trigger interrupt or not. thx. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1447909 Title: external mic not detected on machines with alc256 codec To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1447909/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1624944] [NEW] ui not responding correctly to stail/outdated creds for wpa/wpa2 enterprise connections
Public bug reported: os: Ubuntu-touch rc-proposed (r530) device: Nexus4-Mako (but can be reproduces on Bq Aquaris M10) When one is in range of a previously stored enterprise wifi connection, but the credentials are known to be stail/outdated, upon connecting to that network, the list-item of the selected connection will show as 'connected'. This is ofcourse not actually true. This can be done both in system-settings --> Wifi and in the dropdownlist of available connections. What should happen is that upon failing to authenticate to the network, a popup should appear prompting the user to update the password. Currently, the only way for the user to reconnect is to go into 'Previous networks', delete the connection there, and then register the connection again. This bug can be steadily reproduced on the Eduroam network in the school where I work. The assumption is however that all Enterprise wifi networks are effected. Below is my .cache/upstart/indicator-network.log That doesn't show much afaict but it was requested: Warning: Tried to remove access point "/org/freedesktop/NetworkManager/AccessPoint/30" that has not been added. [Bug 1614593] Re: gimp freezes at end of cage-base transform
So... Discovering that Debian and/or Ubuntu decided to make their GIMP 2.8 packages depend on gegl-0.3 instead of gegl-0.2 came as a surprise to some of the GIMP developers. We prefer not to raise library dependencies in the stable branch, and have certainly not planned for changes in GIMP code to accommodate for this in the stable branch - as you can see, the patch author for the fix in the GIMP master branch isn't sure if the patch can be backported to be compatible with both gegl-0.2 and gegl-0.3: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=770848 This makes this hard to fix from our side for distros that choose to deviate from the upstream dependencies. [Bug 1624917] Re: external usb-3 disk crashes when writing.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1624917/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
