[Bug 1625449] [NEW] issue with removing apps from the store
Public bug reported: So, the issue is in the general ubuntu software store application, I do no know the exact package information, and did not want to risk getting it wrong. Every time I go to remove an app from within the store, it registers the click, and seems to be working, but then it reloads the page that has all of my installed apps, and then I find the packages STILL there. Sometimes when I remove a package, and the page reloads there is a chance that one of 3 things will happen. 1. The package goes away without any issues 2. the package stays, but the button that I clicked to remove it says 'install'. I assume that is an issue, or some sort of feature to offer reinstallation of the app. 3. The package stays, and still says 'remove' next to it. I think this is the most annoying situation because as mentioned earlier, the page reloads, and when it does that, it puts me back at the very top of the list. So then I have to scroll back down to the app and find that it didn't even go away. ** Affects: ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: software store ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1625449 Title: issue with removing apps from the store To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1625449/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1625441] Re: KDE screen lock intermittent
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1625441/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1625441] [NEW] KDE screen lock intermittent
Public bug reported: I have my KDE screen locker configured to "Lock screen automatically after" 1 minute. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, I can lock manually with Ctrl-Alt-L. I upgraded from 14.04 to 16.04.1 ~4 days ago, and it has stopped locking 3 or 4 times. It was working fine in 14.04. It's particularly annoying for me because I use my screen saver status and my workspace name to log my hours to various charge numbers for work. If the screen saver isn't on, I'm logging hours. I wasn't sure what component to file a bug against. I assume libkscreenlocker5 (there is no kscreenlocker package AFAICT). apt-cache policy libkscreenlocker5 libkscreenlocker5: Installed: 5.5.5-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 5.5.5-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 5.5.5-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Other info: I've tried 5 minute locking intervals and changing the interval during the KDE session where locking isn't working... no change. I've looked through all of my workspaces to see if there might be some dialogue window or panel widget expecting user interaction that might be disabling the timeout mechanism or something like that. I didn't find anything of that sort, but I just closed all windows except the firefox window in which I'm typing this question (emacs, thunderbird, octave, gramps, google-chrome, konsole, + ???) and the screen saver worked after that. I'm not sure if that was coincidence or not. I re-opened an instance of every app that I remember having closed and the screen saver worked again. This is a new Ubuntu 16.04.1 64 bit installation that was converted to KDE by installing kde-desktop. The user account that I'm using has its home on another disk and that home directory has been on 12.04 and 14.04 systems. I'm not sure if this is anyway related, but I get a "System Notification Helper" popup window many hundreds of time per day that says "Software upgrade notifications are available". Perhaps that popup window is causing the screen locker to thing there is something going on. I'm not sure how to capture useful debugging information for something that isn't happening. Is there a way to query the screen locker and ask it what it thought happened that prevented it from locking? ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1625441 Title: KDE screen lock intermittent To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1625441/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1614203] Re: [MIR] unity-scope-click
I tend to agree with Michael Terry here; there are some issues with the package in its current state that I would consider blockers for inclusion in main: 1) autopkgtests are effectively disabled (script executes nothing) When you only rebuild the package to run the unit tests, you are running tests against a different package than what is in the archive. The rebuild would cause any of the build-depends packages to be picked up in their new version when unit tests are run, causing tests to pass when they should be failing. This is most likely not the only place where this issue exists, but it should be fixed when noticed. To be able to know something is wrong (and that unity-scope-click possibly needs a rebuild), we need the autopkgtests to block promotion from proposed of the other packages. Fixing the test harness to work correctly should be a high priority for main inclusion. 2) departments.db is an included generated file without being generated by the build This is normally cause for an upload to not make it in Debian (and in Ubuntu). The key here is "not considered as the preferred form of modification", in that we don't expect developers to do modifications directly to that file, but rather generate it using a compiled binary from the package source to download further data. The necessary data is probably available from the archive or elsewhere to be retrieved and parsed to generate the compiled database. I expect at least that to be possible, or that to build a new source package upload, the "seed data" could be included in the upload. If necessary, consider having a separate source package that contains only any .desktop (or whatever format) data necessary to compile the database at build time. This will further make it easier to update the database with a simple no-change rebuild if the data is already provided in the archive as an (automated?) export of the relevant information required to build the cache. This then opens the door to having the departments.db something completely separate from unity-scope-click (ie. built directly from a separate source that is the data export from click packages). Doing so appears to me to be relatively trivial. "Your package contains generated files (such as compressed .js libraries) without corresponding original form. They're not considered as the preferred form of modification, so you will either have to provide corresponding original form, or remove them from your tarball, eventually depending on an already available packages to provide missing features." I'd go as far as saying that 1) and 2) are blockers for inclusion in main, and show that unity-scope-click is perhaps on par with the level of maintenance that we expect of packages in main. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1614203 Title: [MIR] unity-scope-click To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-scope-click/+bug/1614203/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1625415] [NEW] 1.1.7-4ubuntu0.12.04.2 appears to have broken window decorations in Ubuntu 12.04
Public bug reported: For background, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1303843#c6. Mozilla's CI system for Firefox runs tests against Docker images. These Docker images are periodically rebuilt against the latest available Ubuntu packages. When the python-imaging 1.1.7-4ubuntu0.12.04.2 package update rolled out a few days ago, some Firefox tests started failing. Upon further examination, it looks like the python-imaging package update somehow resulted in window decorations (title, close, minimize, maximize buttons) failing to render and/or shifting up off the screen by several pixels. Screenshots are available at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1303843. As best I can tell, change of behavior in python-imaging somehow resulted in some other process using python-imaging to change its behavior. What exactly, I'm not sure. I don't yet have minimal STR. However, a Docker image exhibiting the problem can be downloaded from https://queue.taskcluster.net/v1/task /Ze9Rx-sTSzGCj4dXrEYbjg/runs/0/artifacts/public%2Fimage.tar. To import the Docker image: $ curl -L https://queue.taskcluster.net/v1/task/Ze9Rx- sTSzGCj4dXrEYbjg/runs/0/artifacts/public%2Fimage.tar | docker load I'm stilling trying to figure out how to start the container with a proper X server/environment outside Mozilla's testing infrastructure. ** Affects: python-imaging (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1625415 Title: 1.1.7-4ubuntu0.12.04.2 appears to have broken window decorations in Ubuntu 12.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-imaging/+bug/1625415/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
