[Bug 1671019] Re: PowerNV: Restart opal-prd daemon on any kind of failure
** Description changed: + [SRU Justification] + As a hardware diagnostic service, it's important that opal-prd be kept running even in the face of hardware unreliability. The most effective way to do this is with a systemd unit policy of Restart=always, to ensure the service is not allowed to accidentally die. + + [Test case] + 1. Install the opal-prd package on a system that has /dev/mtd0. + 2. Verify that the service is running with 'systemctl status opal-prd'. + 3. Get the pid of the opal-prd process from systemctl and kill it with 'sudo kill -9 $pid'. + 4. Verify via 'systemctl status opal-prd' that the service is no longer running. + 5. Install opal-prd from -proposed. + 6. Verify via 'systemctl status opal-prd' that the service is running again. + 7. Kill the new process with 'sudo kill -9 $pid'. + 8. Verify via 'systemctl status opal-prd' that the service has been restarted. + 9. Install the opal-prd package from -proposed on a system that does not have /dev/mtd0. + 10. Verify that 'systemctl status opal-prd' shows the service is inactive, and has not been allowed to restart indefinitely after failure, driving up the system load. + + [Regression potential] + Since the package may be installed on systems where opal-prd is useless and will not run, it's important to verify for each release that Restart=always doesn't cause systemd to go into a busy loop trying to restart the service under these conditions. The uploaded change should guard against this by checking for the correct path before starting the job, and the test case should further confirm this. + + == Comment: #0 - VASANT HEGDE- 2017-03-08 03:12:33 == ---Problem Description--- - opal-prd package contains prd daemon (Processor Runtime Diagnostics). + opal-prd package contains prd daemon (Processor Runtime Diagnostics). Lock GNOME session 4. Unlock GNOME session. Notice that all extensions are now deactivated :( Expected result is that they should remaining activated per their configuration. 5. Using "Tweak Tool"/"gnome-tweak-tool" re-activate all those extensions. Restart GNOME by pressing "ALT-F2" keys, type "r", press "Enter" key. The extensions are now working. 6. Lock GNOME session again 7. Unlock GNOME session again. Issue is reproduced again. All extensions are deactivated. This bug is intermittent though. It depends on various factors, including but not limited: • Which extensions are activated • Your personal configuration with "gnome-tweak-tool" and "gnome-session" packages 8. [Bug 1697221] [NEW] Wrapping for labels breaks words
Public bug reported: Labels for some items in Gnome Control Center are too long to fit on a single line. As a result they must continue onto a second line. ISSUE: Labels do not break at work boundaries. Instead, they break in the middle of words. (See attached screenshot). Examples: Region & Lan guage Mouse & Touch pad EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: Labels should break at work boundaries (i.e. spaces between words). Examples: Region & Language Mouse & Touchpad (If a word is too long and must break in the middle, then conventional word hyphenation rules should be applied, or an exception may be made to keep the code simple. This may occur if new items with very long names are added to the control center in the future, or for accessibility reasons where very large fonts are used). ADDITIONAL INFO: The font used in the screenshots is Liberation Sans Regular 10. (However, the word wrapping behavior should be independent of the font and size used). $ uname -a Linux PS001 4.10.0-22-generic #24-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 22 17:43:20 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux $ lsb_release --all No LSB modules are available. [Bug 1676131] Re: Gnome Night Light doesn't work
I experience the same issue. The nightlight feature is not working anymore. I've used this feature for a couple of months coming from the beta's towards the released version of ubuntu-gnome 17.04 without any issues. this week I did a fresh install (although I left /home intact) initially night light was working, but now it stops. The timer does work (schedule and indicator in the top bar) but the colour temperature is not changed. To answer the above questions: Are you still experiencing this bug? - yes Was it day or night when it was not working? - Everything about nighlight seems to work (indicator, schedule, being able to change from manual to sunset/sunrise schedule, switching on and off) apart from the actual colourtemperature change What specifically did you try to get it to work? - I tried to switch it on and of, change the schedule. - I disabled the theming (paper-theme) and global dark theme - I disabled all extensions - I rebooted (several times) Hope that helps in triaging. Please let me know if I can do anything to provide more information and/or help in debuggin. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1676131 Title: Gnome Night Light doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1676131/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1697208] [NEW] Installing karbon also installs calligrawords, calligrastage, and calligrasheets
Public bug reported: I installed karbon, and calligrawords, calligrastage, and calligrasheets were also installed. All of these packages require calligra-libs as a dependency. This seems odd that the library (calligra-libs) depends on the applications (calligrawords, calligrastage, and calligrasheets)? [Bug 1603620] Re: Package lists are not updated before Unattended upgrades runs automatically.
Released versions do not matter regarding the overall bug state. That bug has been fixed in an update to xenial, yakkety, and zesty; which is in the unapproved queue, but has a slightly annoying regression (and that regression was fixed in 1.4.6). I should update the SRUs now, but associating a new bug with that retroactively (changing a changelog entry from months ago) looks a bit weird. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1603620 Title: Package lists are not updated before Unattended upgrades runs automatically.
