Also the button is not themed properly when the dialogue goes to the background (lose focus) and a file is selected. Hello Seth, or anyone else affected, Accepted apport into artful-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/2.20.7-0ubuntu2 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-artful to verification-done-artful. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-artful. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that a package failed to install due to a segmentation fault in the application being used for the package installation process. Unfortunately, this bug report isn't very useful in its current state and a crash report would be much more useful. Could you try recreating this issue by enabling apport to catch the crash report 'sudo service apport start force_start=1' and then trying to install the same package again? This process will create a new bug report so I am marking this one as Invalid. Thanks again for helping out! [This is an automated message. [Bug 1720582] [NEW] gvfs-backends not installed with GIMP
Public bug reported: I am running Kubuntu 17.04. I installed the GIMP. I tried to use the menu item "Open from location", but it did not work. After searching on the Internet, I found out that the GIMP needs a GVFS backend in order to fetch an image from the web. I installed gvfs-backends. Now the menu item "Open from location" works. Problem: A feature from the GIMP does not work by default. How to solve: install an additional package. Ideal use case: user only needs to install the GIMP. @Jeremy Bicha (jbicha) As you may know I created script for automation - see my comment #20 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gui-ufw/+bug/1713313/comments/20 ). And I collected all found problems here. I added more affected packages here: * `apport` because of /usr/share/apport/root_info_wrapper and /usr/share/apport/apport-gtk . * `cinnamon` and `cinnamon-common` because of /usr/share/cinnamon/cinnamon-settings-users/cinnamon-settings-users.py . * `caja-admin` because of /usr/bin/caja as root. * `guidedog` because of "Authentication is required to run Guidedog script" /bin/sh. * `update-notifier-common` because of /usr/lib/update-notifier/cddistupgrader and /usr/lib/update-notifier/package-system-locked . It was too difficult to create separate bug reports for each application for me. I hope that community may help here.
