[Bug 1782956] [NEW] Sync sql-ledger 3.2.6-1 (main) from Debian sid (main)

2018-07-21 Thread RJ Clay
Public bug reported:

Please sync sql-ledger 3.2.6-1 (main) from Debian sid (main)

Package backports to Cosmic and builds cleanly.
Reference: sql-ledger - 3.2.6-1~ubuntu18.10.1 at
https://launchpad.net/~sql-ledger/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+packages

The updated package closed three bugs in Debian and closes one bug in
Ubuntu.

Changelog entries since most recent version in Ubuntu Xenial:

sql-ledger (3.2.6-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream. (Closes: #862953)(LP: #1537461)
  * Bump the Debhelper version from '9' to '10'.
  * Use an HTTPS URL in the debian/watch file.
  * Add the following Lintian override files: debian/source/lintian-overrides
and debian/sql-ledger.lintian-overrides.
  * Removed the debian/patches/latex-cmdline-option patch file as it does not
apply to the new upstream.
  * Add a debian/patches/FixINCissue.patch file. (Closes: #869994)
  * Add a debian/patches/MitigateLintianError.patch file.
  * Redo 'templates' install info in the debian/sql-ledger.install file.
  * Rewrite debian/copyright, following copyright-format v1.0 guidelines.
  * Changes in debian/control:
+ Declare compliance with Debian Policy 4.1.4.
+ Add 'Rules-Requires-Root: binary-targets' to the source stanza.
+ Set 'Robert James Clay ' as the new Maintainer.
  (Closes: #862963)
+ Update Vcs-Git & Vcs-Browser entries to the new URLs at salsa.debian.org.

2018-07-21 Thread Scott Cowles Jacobs
I have been using Firefox less often lately, but I have been able to use all FF
versions
after #40 or perhaps earlier.
I am not sure, but some issue(s) may have been memory-related.
After I started using the add-on UBlockOrigen, FF started using quite a bit
less memory.

[Hmmm... That's funny... I note that at some time, UBlockOrigen disappeared
from my
toolbar, and I seem to have AddblockPlus again... I'll have to re-install UBO
again...

I guess you can close this, and I'll file a new one, if it recurs...

Hi Marc,
An enhancement request needs to be made on the Mozilla “Bugzilla” bug tracking
system. I think you are the best person to explain it so the next step is for
you to create the ticket there.

There are instructions here:
At answer A.1.6:

https://www.bugzilla.org/docs/2.18/html/faq.html#faq-general-bzmissing

When you do file the bug at Mozilla, please come back here and post a
comment with the ticket number.

Thanks

[Bug 1782943] [NEW] Network Manager - OpenVPN - Zombie Processes After Disconnection

2018-07-21 Thread João Mateus Paiva Dalvi
Public bug reported:

Problem happens on 18.04, fresh install, updated to the latest packages.
Package is network-manager-openvpn version 1.8.2
OpenVPN Network Manager applet keeps zombie openvpn processes after
disconnection or connection loss. This odd behavior makes user experience
unstable, needing manual "kill -9" of dozens of processes or system reboot, as
these processes keep trying to claim tun0 and establish connections again,
sometimes making new connections attempts impossible.
This problem is errant, and hard to replicate exactly the same way again.
Sometimes you see plenty of zombie processes writing to /var/log/syslog,
sometimes not.
This problem is already solved upstream (version 1.8.3+ it seems), so a
backport of network-manager-openvpn from cosmic, wich has its 1.8.4 version,
should solve the problem.

[Bug 1695326] Re: Firefox loader hardening

2018-07-21 Thread gf
Forgive me, Monochromec,
I am just trying to clear up the old tickets. I just started triaging bugs two
weeks ago.

With the older tickets, we put the status to "Incomplete" since people's
email addresses may have changed. Incomplete status automatically closes
the ticket after 60 days of inactivity.

Is this still a problem in the latest Firefox version or can we close
this ticket?

Again, sorry that this ticket did not get addressed.

Take care
G

[Bug 1757008] Re: Broadcom wireless drivers failed to build [error: implicit declaration of function ‘init_timer’]

2018-07-21 Thread Melissa Rice
Here is what worked for me to restore WiFi functionality...

1. Run Software & Udpates from the launcher. In the Developer Options
tab, check the box for Pre-released updates. This will require your
admin password and will update the cache.

2. Run Software Updater from the launcher. It will present you with lots
of options of stuff to update. Because I did not want to beta test the
whole proposed release at this moment, but just fix my WiFi, I unchecked
all of the updates except the Broadcom wireless driver. Then I installed
this update, which did not require a reboot.

3. I tested the WiFi by unplugging the internet cable and connecting to
wireless, which worked. A reboot was not requested so I didn't reboot.

4. Run Software & Udpates from the launcher. In the Developer Options
tab, uncheck the box for Pre-released updates. This will require your
admin password, again. It will update the cache. I did this because I
don't want to install any further updates from the Proposed (pre-
release) repository, just the one I needed to make WiFi work again.

My computer is a very old Dell Inspiron with Ubuntu 16.04. The wireless
was working until I updated the OS this morning and the update failed
due to a Broadcom driver problem, as described in this post and also
here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1777646. The
above procedure corrected the problem without introducing any new
problems. Thanks to everyone who contributed the fix! Much appreciated.

[Bug 1782939] [NEW] Update package to 0.12.0

2018-07-21 Thread Nazar Mokrynskyi
Public bug reported:

Qtile version that ships in Ubuntu is a bit old, recently released
0.12.0 contains important bug fixes as well as new features. Would be
really nice if someone could package latest version so that no one needs
to mess with installing dependencies manually in correct order for Qtile
using pip (otherwise it wouldn't work properly).

[Bug 1782934] Re: XPS 13 9350 black screen with latest kernel

2018-07-21 Thread Christopher Torgalson
** Description changed:

With any Ubuntu variant I've tried (Ubuntu, Ubuntu Mate, Ubuntu Budgie),
the graphical installer works correctly, but on every post-install
login, the screen goes black at the disk decryption screen.
+
+ The kernel version post-install is 4.14.0-29-generic.

Other things seem to be working. If I'm careful, I can enter the disk
decryption password and tell (via sounds) that I've gotten through to
the login screen, but the screen remains dark.

This happens with standard or minimal installs.

If I then try to boot with the previous kernel--4.15.0-20-generic--
  everything works flawlessly.

The only non-standard thing about this system is that I replaced the
onboard wireless card with an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8625.

  ---

I don't have a clue about kernel debugging, but I can provide further
  system info as needed.

[Bug 1752772] Re: r8169 ethernet card don't work after returning from suspension

2018-07-21 Thread Parsifal Herzog
I have the same problem. Ther was not a problem with Linux Mint 19 Tara
(Ubuntu 18.04) and kernel 4.13. Most posts here seem to be associated
with Realtek eternet controllers, mine is an Intel I218-LM.

Since kernel 4.15 updates (now automatic on Linux Mint 19) problem
occurs. With latest 4.15.0.29-generic, it occurs on every wakeup and on
wake from sleep.

Tail of demsg output after wakeup from suspend, and network does not
start:

[Bug 1782934] [NEW] XPS 13 9350 black screen with latest kernel

2018-07-21 Thread Christopher Torgalson
Public bug reported:

With any Ubuntu variant I've tried (Ubuntu, Ubuntu Mate, Ubuntu Budgie),
the graphical installer works correctly, but on every post-install
login, the screen goes black at the disk decryption screen.

[Bug 1774932] Re: nautilus assert failure: malloc(): memory corruption (fast)

2018-07-21 Thread Dave Goldsbrough
This is happening to me several times now on a daily basis.

Each time I submit the crash report and each time within the report it
says a duplicate of this bug report. How can I help resolve it.

New install of 18.04 from about a month ago - all updates and upgrades
installed.

and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Presumably this problem was a one time occurrence and/or is no longer an
issue? Can the bug report now be closed? If we do not hear from you the

[Bug 517469] Re: firefox-3.6.2pre from safe-upgrade fails to work in some ssl2 sites

2018-07-21 Thread Paul White
We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago
and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Presumably this problem was a one time occurrence and/or is no longer an
issue? Can the bug report now be closed? If we do not hear from you the
bug report will close itself in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu better.
