[Bug 581113]
(In reply to comment #10) RESOLVED - FIXED despite id3 on Ubuntu now can't see the Audacity Year tag when it could before the committed fix. Tested exported MP3 and MP2 containing Year tag (TYER and TDRC) on all three platforms (including WMP, VLC, Foobar and iTunes on Windows, iTunes on Mac and id3, eyed3 and Nautilus on Ubuntu 11.10 and 12.04. The only problem was with id3 - it does not see MP2 or MP3 exported with the current TYER and TDRC tags, nor can it see TDRC on its own, only MP2 or MP3 files that have a single TYER tag. So id3 will lose out of this, but far more apps will gain. I'm still going to call it RESOLVED- FIXED as I don't see much else we can do, but have noted this in summary bug 51 and will write to id3. Paradoxically, Nautilus which could not see TYER on its own when the bug was raised now can, so id3 is out of step. > One problem found - Winamp can't see the TYER frame if TDRC is written > as well. I've reported it to Winamp here: > http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=36 Winamp have now fixed that issue. The issue Winamp reported to us (Audacity non-default ID3 frames rewritten as TXXX) is already at bug 541. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/581113 Title: Value for year property in ID3 tags gets lost on export of mp3 file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/audacity/+bug/581113/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 996407]
Changed Status from to "VERIFIED - WONTFIX" to "RESOLVED - FIXED" after Leland applied a patch to Menus.cpp in r12639 that fixes this. Leland wrote: > This should be removed with wxWidgets 2.8.13 is released. Does the Widgets fix http://trac.wxwidgets.org/changeset/67929?format=diff&new=67929 also prevent the black square corruption under Unity (where "Fi" of "File" would be in the Audacity Menu Bar)? Your patch does so, but the official Widgets patch had that problem when I last tried it, and Ubuntu seem to have problems getting that patch to fix all the scenarios. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996407 Title: Grey stripe covering the menu with gnome classic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/audacity/+bug/996407/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 581113]
(In reply to comment #9) Sorry not had much time to test this but will do so. One problem found - Winamp can't see the TYER frame if TDRC is written as well. I've reported it to Winamp here: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=36 I'd tend to call this a limitation in Winamp, and doubt we would want to only write TYER as we were doing previously because applications that only read TDRC then can't see the Year tag.
[Bug 1788986] [NEW] Quagga not starting when using vtysh integrated configuration
Public bug reported: After upgrading to bionic the quagga daemon doesn't start. This is related to the configuration directive integrated-vtysh-config which, if used, prevents proper start. [Bug 1758548] Re: impossible to visualize: Book does not have a format available
Hi, First, thank you very much for your help. As for the special characters in French (é, è, à, ç, ë, ê ...) do not seem to be the cause of the problem. Or did not I notice? On the other hand, it is the change in the case of characters that is decisive: Indeed, I did a test on a book saved in epub and ORIGINAL_epub formats. Then, I copied this same title in the same library in epub format as well. So, in duplicate. When opening in the editor for reading, no problem. Then, I change the name of the author (First Name Last Name > First Name Last NAME) on a copy and I save. Well, the cover has disappeared, ditto for the book (both copies!?) Only the opf file remains. Public bug reported: qml-module-org-kde-kirigami was dropped from Debian unstable on 2018-02-24 with the rationale that it is an "old version, no more used" (Debian bug #891162). It is still in Ubuntu cosmic because plasma-sdk depends on it. If the Debian removal's rationale is correct, we should also remove it from Ubuntu. [Bug 1786344] Re: 18.10 镜像无法输入中文
I tested the 2018.08.24 iso, when booted into simplified Chinese locale, I can now select 智能拼音 (smart pinyin) to input Chinese characters. However, this should be the DEFAULT, i.e., a Chinese user should be able to input Chinese characters when selecting the Chinese locale, WITHOUT any additional step. As the 1810 iso stands now, a Chinese locale user will NOT be able to type Chinese. This is no way to try to promote/market Ubuntu in China. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1786344 Title: 18.10 镜像无法输入中文 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1786344/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1788973] [NEW] aa-logprof not useful in an lxd instance
Public bug reported: Hello, aa-logprof doesn't do anything useful in an lxd instance: First, I remove the /** mrixwlk, rule from the man profile, so I'll be sure to have an easy way to create a denial. Then I generate a denial, install aa-logprof, and run aa-logprof. The aa-logprof output looks identical to a run with no denials at all. [Bug 1782579]
Chris, the issue of those menu options failing to work correctly because (A) they were hardcoded to use xterm to open nmtui and (B) because xterm wasn't installed and (C) because the default window size for qterminal was too small has been solved for days. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nm-tray/+bug/1786978 for more on that bug and the package versions that fixed them. [Bug 1779761] Re: Ubuntu Kernel 4.15.0-24.26 causes php7.2-fpm.service to hang at boot
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1779827 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1779827 I recently experience exactly the same issue on a production server (Linode vps solution). Reading this specific log starts to make sense to me now. Started already a thread on https://www.linode.com/community/questions/17135/php72-fpmservice- failing-after-reboot-nginx-error-502 Issue started after migrating to a new vps plan but slower server. But despite a slower system, the kernel here appeared automatically upgraded to 4.17.17. Previous kernel was < 4.14 (but didn't know the exact number because didn't pay attention to as at that time, it worked fine then). Symptoms are exactly the same: php7.2-fpm.service: Start operation timed out. Terminating. php7.2-fpm.service: Failed with result 'timeout'. [Bug 1788943] Re: after upgrade to xubuntu 18.04 from 16.04, gimp fails to launch...
If you installed GIMP from outside the repos at any time before the upgrade, it would make sense that it would be removed for compatibility reasons. Also, any and all installations from outside the official repos are not supported. The reason GIMP 2.10 was not included in 18.04 is due to the fact that GIMP 2.10 breaks MyPaint 1.2 due to a library compatibility issue. Since MyPaint 1.2 and GIMP 2.8 are included in the Ubuntu Studio flavor, it would have broken the entire flavor. Additionally, GIMP 2.10 was released after the feature freeze. So, until MyPaint releases a 1.3 version, 18.04 will be stuck with GIMP 2.8. Ubuntu 18.10 will contain GIMP 2.10, and as such MyPaint was dropped from Ubuntu Studio until the bug is corrected. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/1759625. Since this bug and workaround involves installation from outside the official Ubuntu repos, this bug is invalid. ** Changed in: gimp (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788943 Title: after upgrade to xubuntu 18.04 from 16.04, gimp fails to launch... Public bug reported: I updated to xubuntu 18.04 a few days ago. First re-use of gimp (right click on image and gimp is missing from the context menu) leads me to discover gimp is no longer installed. `which gimp` as user and as root does not find an executable going to https://gimp.org shows me there is a new version, and incidentally a new install method. The method works. On the the gimp website, however, there is this perfect description of the current situation with ubuntu, and a clear request to take action. So, ubuntu, crew, please do the right thing. I quote (emphasis added): Once installed, it [gimp] will be made available exactly the same way as other applications (menus, desktop overview, or any specific application launch process used by your desktop). *If this is not the case, we suggest to report a bug to your desktop or distribution asking for proper support of flatpak*. In the meantime, you can still run it by command line (not as the recommended method, only a workaround): flatpak run org.gimp.GIMP//stable End of quote So, the workaround to the bug is included. Very handy. I would much prefer to be using the 2.10 release, with a proper install / distribution method, than the 2.8 release (and all the ppa nonsense put out on the web). I have been booting with the same version of UEFI from Asus since April. But now either UEFI or Ubuntu is deleting all UEFI entries and creating multiple new UEFI entries from boot device. I was having issue of UEFI entry not installing at all. fred@bionic-z97:~$ sudo grub-install --bootloader-id ubuntu /dev/sda --recheck Installing for x86_64-efi platform. Could not prepare Boot variable: No space left on device grub-install: error: efibootmgr failed to register the boot entry: Input/output error. I have to boot full install on flash drive and use configfile to boot into working install in sda. But something is adding entries from flash drive's ESP. And on reboot added a second BIOS/grub entry (which is not used) I can see UEFI entries come from flash drive as it has extra bionic & copy folders. I was then able to add an entry for working install on sda, but reboot erased it. [Bug 1788931] Re: FTBFS libcloud does not work or build with py3.7
** Attachment added: "libcloud-2.3.0-py3-cosmic-build.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libcloud/+bug/1788931/+attachment/5180462/+files/libcloud-2.3.0-py3-cosmic-build.log ** Description changed: libcloud 2.3.0 fails to build in cosmic currently because the tests fail. It's not compatible with python 3.7. The last time it was built in the ubuntu archive, python 3.7 was not available, and the tests ran with python 3.6. Now we have both python 3.6 and 3.7. Additionally, it fails to install if python3.7 is installed: Setting up python3-libcloud (2.3.0-1) ... - File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/libcloud/compute/drivers/azure.py", line 1438 - def _perform_post(self, path, body, response_type=None, async=False): - ^ + File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/libcloud/compute/drivers/azure.py", line 1438 + def _perform_post(self, path, body, response_type=None, async=False): + ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax In python 3.7, async is a reserved keyword.
