[Bug 1816352] Re: firefox-window on dvi0 (display0) fullscreen on exit jumps to dvi1 (other display)

[Bug 1816352] Re: firefox-window on dvi0 (display0) fullscreen on exit jumps to dvi1 (other display)
please note: I've got a number of OPEN bugs relating to windows that MOVE/WARP around the screen when I do things... [Bug 1816352] [NEW] firefox-window on dvi0 (display0) fullscreen on exit jumps to dvi1 (other display)
Public bug reported: Lubuntu 19.04 QA-Test of daily (LIVE dell optiplex 755(c2d e8300, 8gb, radeon HD 2400 pro/xt; driver=radeon) two dell monitors, dvi-0 [as named in monitor-settings] is landscape & left, dvi-1 [as named in monitor-settings] is rotated "left" or in portrait mode & positioned to right as part of QA-test, I use firefox to stream a utube vid, firefox opened on dvi-1 display so I did it first there, watching vid in window, pressing to watch briefly in that mode, then fullscreen. When I exit fullscreen the firefox window returns to the way it was before I hit f11 I moved window to DVI-0 or left-display with video still streaming, hit & watched briefly, then hit fullscreen & watched again briefly. All was great, then exited fullscreen (same if I hit or click the exit-fullscreen icon) - at this point the window zooms to a maximized state of DVI-1 It only seemed to do this when the firefox window was maximized on DVI-0, if I shrunk the firefox-window to use less than full-display before hitting 'fullscreen' or 'f', it returned to prior-case and just exited the video fullscreen display. This issue is cosmetic, operation did not stop working at any point, and it just required me to re-drag my window to my desired display. (If i noticed this before (I believe I have), I may not have recorded bug, just noted it on QA-test comments) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.04 Package: firefox 65.0.1+build2-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.19.0-13.14-generic 4.19.20 Uname: Linux 4.19.0-13-generic x86_64 AddonCompatCheckDisabled: False ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu21 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: lubuntu1784 F pulseaudio BuildID: 20190214235031 CasperVersion: 1.402 Channel: Unavailable CurrentDesktop: LXQt Date: Mon Feb 18 07:02:30 2019 Extensions: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing ForcedLayersAccel: False IfupdownConfig: # interfaces(5) file used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8) auto lo iface lo inet loopback IncompatibleExtensions: Unavailable (corrupt or non-existant compatibility.ini or extensions.sqlite) IpRoute: default via 192.168.15.19 dev enp0s25 proto dhcp metric 100 192.168.15.0/24 dev enp0s25 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.15.198 metric 100 LiveMediaBuild: Lubuntu 19.04 "Disco Dingo" - Alpha amd64 (20190217) Locales: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing PrefSources: prefs.js Profiles: Profile0 (Default) - LastVersion=65.0.1/20190214235031 (In use) RunningIncompatibleAddons: False SourcePackage: firefox Themes: extensions.sqlite corrupt or missing UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 04/30/2008 dmi.bios.vendor: Dell Inc. dmi.bios.version: A10 dmi.board.name: 0DR845 dmi.board.vendor: Dell Inc. dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: Dell Inc. dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnDellInc.:bvrA10:bd04/30/2008:svnDellInc.:pnOptiPlex755:pvr:rvnDellInc.:rn0DR845:rvr:cvnDellInc.:ct3:cvr: dmi.product.name: OptiPlex 755 dmi.sys.vendor: Dell Inc. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug disco ** Attachment added: "sudo lshw >lshw.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1816352/+attachment/5239456/+files/lshw.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1816352 Title: firefox-window on dvi0 (display0) fullscreen on exit jumps to dvi1 (other display) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1816352/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1816271] Re: no sound
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: 19.04,kern 4.19.0-13 just took update and now does not recognize soundcard or something plugged in to headphones jack. pulled bug. Now if I unplug headphones and plug back in, it wakes up and recognizes it and works fine. I thought I had this prob a few days ago and restored back to the 10th, and updated all but alsa and worked fine. This morning I checked and a bunch of alsa stuff was no longer showing in updates, took everything, and worked fine. Just took updates (Software Updater), and checked speakers and no go. When this happened, it also would not allow sound to HDTV via HDMI, no matter what. Just tested and was able to get sound via hdmi, but remember, I have already "woken it up" by unplugging and plugging headphones (actually sony vaio computer speakers) ThinkPad T530-2394-3J8, i5-3380M 2.9GHz, Dual boot (BIOS/MBR): Grub, Ubuntu 19.04dev / Win7 Pro x64 . 8GB(15GB/s), Sammy 250GB SSD. Fast! I expected sound to recognize soundcard/speakers. It did not until I unplug/replug headphones. I'm sorry to tell you that this wasn't an infinite loop, it was going through the process of generating signed kernel module files for each of the kernel versions you have installed and you have a LOT of kernel versions installed. You might want to try running 'sudo apt autoremove --purge' to remove the older unused kernels, since they waste space on your system and slow down all upgrades of bootloader packages. [Bug 1816240] Re: Impossible to boot 18.04.2 from btrfs
WRAP UP First my mistake: I found a work-around. My 2008 HP dc5850 allows me to boot from the first disk of the internal SATA-2 controller or from a SATA-3 PCIe card, I have added for the SSD. I did boot in the BIOS from the SSD, but did forget all about it and assumed during the installation of Xubuntu with btrfs, that I was still booting from sda. That is where everything started to go wrong, since grub (SSD) still expected the previous ext4 system on that newly installed partition. Second the remaining bug in update-grub. I booted in the main system again and did run update-grub. Update-grub did not detect the btrfs system and left it out from the list of bootable system. So in my mind there was no way I could boot that just installed system and that resulted in this bug-report. I'm lucky with the separate SATA-3 controller, because I can boot both systems, but I have to select the btrfs system from the BIOS after any update of one my three ext4 systems. During 'normal' operation I have to select the boot entry for my main system manually. So it is important, that update-grub is corrected for those people with a BIOS without drive choice. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1816240 Title: Impossible to boot 18.04.2 from btrfs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1816240/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1816283] Re: Ubuntu 18.04 ISO downloaded2019-02-16 Failed to remove a part of itself,
Went to https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-how-to-verify-ubuntu#3 to check the ISO check-sum to see if the download was corrupted or if I had burned it to a faulty DVD. However I could find no workable answer to this question. how to download SHA256SUMS from http://releases.ubuntu.com/bionic/? Seems the most simple question, however all I get at Ask.Ubuntu, stack exchange and gethub is theory others problems and complications. http://releases.ubuntu.com/bionic/ does not offer a copy or download option for the files. Other click on the file and all I get in Firefox is link choices. I have been warned in one of those sources that copying and pasting contents into a file I create will fowl up the process. Not being able to successfully download the SHA256SUMS means I only receive the following when attempting to confirm validity of the ISO gpg: can't open `SHA256SUMS.gpg' gpg: verify signatures failed: file open error All I can do is possibly waste another DVD downloading a valid? ISO with a bug in it, in doing a new download, but that is the only course I see for now with the gpg check-sums kerfuffle at: https://github.com/canonical-websites/tutorials.ubuntu.com/issues/new and https://github.com/canonical-websites/tutorials.ubuntu.com/issues/790 Will update with the results of a new ISO and DVD install. ** Bug watch added: github.com/canonical-websites/tutorials.ubuntu.com/issues #790 https://github.com/canonical-websites/tutorials.ubuntu.com/issues/790 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1816283 Title: Ubuntu 18.04 ISO downloaded2019-02-16 Failed to remove a part of itself, To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1816283/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1391717] Re: Parse LaTeX formulas
Hi, thanks for the feature request. This would be cool to have, but since there isn't likely to be too many people using it, it would an ideal candidate for a plugin for the composer. If you'd like to help working on adding support for plugins, there ticket for that is here: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/issues/155 In general, Geary tracks issues like this over at GNOME's GitLab instance, so you'll probably get a faster response posting there. :) ** Changed in: geary (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1391717 Title: Parse LaTeX formulas To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/geary/+bug/1391717/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It seems my install was missing the linux-generic package. After installing that I was able to get linux-generic 4.15.0.46.48 from bionic-proposed.
