[Bug 151448] Re: Wacom pressure sensitivity lacking under Wine applications.
c0rn3j, you probably need to run /tmp/wine/configure and build dependencies before running the test. I'm testing based on Arch linux's AUR wine-staging-git package. I'm not familiar with building WINE, so my workflow has been coupled with trizen, an AUR wrapper: 1. mkdir -p /tmp/wine; cd /tmp/wine 2. trizen -Gl wine-staging-git # download the package locally 3. vim wine-staging-git/PKGBUILD # add "bash" to the end of the "build()" function, after the second "make"; this keeps the files around so I can mess with them 4. trizen -Sl wine-staging-git --noinstall --noconfirm After a long build, there are 32-bit and 64-bit wine directories that can run tests, and they're present as long as the bash session doesn't terminate (so you can copy the directory, etc.) Alistair, I built and ran the tests in dlls/wintab32/tests but it doesn't seem to have an interactive variant (the code seems to reflect this, although I'm not very familiar with it -- I can't find reference to winetest_interactive in dlls/wintab32). If I run: WINEDEBUG=+wintab32 WINETEST_INTERACTIVE=1 make test Some binary appears to run and quit without awaiting input, a different result from executing the test manually with: WINETEST_INTERACTIVE=1 WINEDEBUG=+wintab32 ../../../wine wintab32_test.exe.so ...which still isn't interactive, but does print some output. I've attached logs of both. Wine is version wine-4.9-46-g3139727a97 (Staging). I'm using xsetwacom's automatic Wacom configuration for my Wacom Bamboo Fun CTE-650. Here's the output of xsetwacom --list: Wacom BambooFun 6x8 Pad pad id: 11 type: PAD Wacom BambooFun 6x8 Pen stylus id: 12 type: STYLUS Wacom BambooFun 6x8 Pen eraser id: 26 type: ERASER Wacom BambooFun 6x8 Pen cursor id: 27 type: CURSOR I also included a log of "xinput list-props" for those devices if it helps. I suspect that c0rn3j and I have a similar problem: Paint Tool SAI and Krita (windows) both output no tablet activity. wintab32 appears to find my tablet (and its 4 devices) just fine but only reports window changes afterwards -- no input activity at all while the tablet is in use. It acts exactly like a mouse does for both the STYLUS and ERASER pressures, and SAI doesn't seem to notice the difference between the two (usually the eraser is treated as a different tool). My attachment includes a +wintab32 log of SAI where I opened the program, drew a few lines, flicked the mouse in and out of the window to generate the window events, and then closed it. Native linux Krita does have a working pressure curve. I checked with "xsetwacom set {id} ToolDebugLevel 6", and both the STYLUS and ERASER send pressure events to Arch's /var/log/Xorg.0.log that aren't reflected in wintab32's debug logs. The events are present in the X logs while wine is running. I've included a log of a few stylus and eraser clicks with ToolDebugLevel set to 12 (the max) in case it helps (I can see pressure changing on the z axis). Is it possible that there's an incompatibility with X's perceived order of my devices and with Wine's? It looks like Wine loads each of the 4 devices into their own stream, so (although I don't really understand how this code works) if the driver expects tablet device index 0 to be the real tablet device and it happens to set the pad as index 0, it may not get any touch events if the pad doesn't send any. This seems unlikely, since both the stylus and eraser are supposed to get passed through (I expect) with their own pressure values, and there was no change when I re-plugged my tablet and the stylus was the first device. xsetwacom's hotplug ordering switches between PAD STYLUS ERASER CURSOR and STYLUS ERASER CURSOR PAD for some reason (also relevant?: I am using hotplugging only; I do not have any static Xorg rules configured for these devices; they appear dynamically thanks to xsetwacom. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wacom for Arch Linux documentation). I can run more tests if you need anything checked. ** Attachment added: "logs-for-151448.zip" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wine1.4/+bug/151448/+attachment/5267063/+files/logs-for-151448.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151448 Title: Wacom pressure sensitivity lacking under Wine applications. [Bug 1823655] Re: Second SD card on RPi3 CM3 on Ubuntu Core 18 does not work
Hi To start off, I was using Ubuntu Core 16 on a custom-designed board that houses a RPi CM3. This board has some peripherals such as USB, ethernet and a SD card, all of them worked. The kernel version I used on Ubuntu Core 16 was 4.4.0-1109.117 (snap is pi2-kernel tracking stable). [Bug 1828604] Re: Lenovo T490S and X390 GM do not have Firefox.App store install errors out
@Rex, I removed all the package in oem image, after install the new image, the snap works fine, and I installed the gnome-calculator, I found it will install the gnome-3-28-1804, not gnome-3-26-1604. So the gnome-calculator (406) based on the gnome-3-26-1604 is missed or wrong, do you know how to check it? One solution is that we just changed the gnome base package version. [Bug 1830268] Re: Use changed nested VMX attribute as trigger to refresh libvirt capability cache
Updated the SRU Template with extended Test and regression potential. ** Description changed: [impact] libvirt caches the 'nested vmx' capability of the host and does not update that even if the host's capability to handle nested vmx changes. Having this domcapability missing means no guests are able to start any nested, kvm-accelerated, guests. Additionally, since openstack live migration requires matching cpu features, this makes migrating guests that do have vmx enabled impossible to hosts where libvirt thinks nested vmx is disabled. Once the kernel module (kvm_intel) is reloaded with 'nested' enabled, libvirt does not update its domcapabilities cache, even over a libvirtd restart, or even over an entire system reboot. Only certain conditions cause libvirt to update its capabilities cache (possibly libvirt upgrade, or qemu upgrade, or kernel upgrade...I haven't verified any of those yet) libvirt creates caches for its domcapabilities at /var/cache/libvirt/qemu/capabilities/. removing the cache xml files there and restarting libvirtd will cause the caches to be recreated with the correct current values. + + The fix backports the upstream fix: + https://libvirt.org/git/?p=libvirt.git;a=commit;h=b183a753 + Which makes it always check the current vs the last stored attribute. [test case] check the kvm_intel module nested parameter: $ cat /sys/module/kvm_intel/parameters/nested Y it can be Y or N. make sure libvirt agrees with the current setting: $ virsh domcapabilities | grep vmx if 'nested' is Y, domcapabilities should include a vmx feature line; if 'nested' is N, it should have no output (i.e. vmx not supported in guests). Then, change the kernel nested setting, and re-check domcapabilities. Restarting libvirtd doesn't update the cache, and even rebooting the entire system doesn't update the cache. $ virsh domcapabilities | grep vmx $ cat /sys/module/kvm_intel/parameters/nested N $ sudo rmmod kvm_intel $ sudo modprobe kvm_intel nested=1 $ cat /sys/module/kvm_intel/parameters/nested Y $ virsh domcapabilities | grep vmx $ sudo systemctl restart libvirtd $ virsh domcapabilities | grep vmx $ + Not only should it work, but further configurung libvirt debug [1] the fix should leave a message like this when triggering: + VIR_DEBUG("Outdated capabilities for '%s': kvm kernel nested " + "value changed from %d",) + + Test #2: + - restart libvirtd + - call `virsh domcapabilities` + - repeat the above + - this should later on use the cache (faster) + - If it always regenerates the cache (see spawned qemu's and new file + dates) the detection is wrong + [regression potential] - TBD, but this should only require better invalidating of the caps cache, - which seems very low for any regression potential. More overhead to - regenerate the cache more often maybe. + This will make libvirt refresh the capability cache more often. This is a quite expensive tasks (depending on the number of qemu's installed which can be anything from none to all arch emulators and the kvm based ones ~10. Those will be forked and probed again. The new code now adds a rather safe detection as the nested attribute would usually only change on a reboot or a module reload. So it should be rather safe. The one real regression would be if the detection would be wrong and always trigger. + I added Test #2 above to check for that. [Bug 1830662] [NEW] Monitor does not wake up on input after DPMS turns it off, pressing the monitor power button wakes it up
Public bug reported: After the screen turns off (for inactivity, screen lock, etc.), mouse or keyboard input won't bring it back. When I come back to the computer to resume my work, I have to wake the system up, and press the power button on the monitor. If I don't manually bring the monitor back on, the system will resume and the screen will remain off. I believe this is a regression, because this cannot be reproduced in distributions as old as Debian Stretch 9. Any distribution newer than Debian causes this problem. [Bug 1830659] Re: Modem Manager Gui crash after start
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, I suspect nothing can be done about this because you've provided little to no information. As such I'm marking this 'incomplete'. You mention crashes; when a program crashes there should be a file in /var/crash/ which can you file providing debug information using something like `ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_usr_bin[name-of-program-that-crashed].crash` Further if you start it from terminal, you may see messages that are useful in helping to recognize why it doesn't start, if there is no actual crash report in /var/crash/. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! If you have more information to provide, or believe my marking this 'incomplete' was in error, please leave a comment (with additional information) and change the 'incomplete' back to 'new'. Thanks again for taking the time to explore, report and help make Ubuntu better. ** Changed in: modem-manager-gui (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830659 Title: Modem Manager Gui crash after start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/modem-manager-gui/+bug/1830659/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1830660] Re: Feature Request: Use Snap for System Updates/Upgrades, Remove APT
All-click Ubuntu Desktop, and all-snap Ubuntu Desktop have been discussed at length before. There are many advantages and challenges in delivering that. As you may know, the Ubuntu Core systems are exactly that - the all- snaps based systems, which target IoT devices. Many of them are quite sophisticated and include display manager and browser rendering engine (kiosk mode). But it is still incomplete to be usable as an Ubuntu Core Desktop system. But you can try an all-snaps system already! Just head to https://www.ubuntu.com/download/iot and checkout out images for supported platforms, which does include Intel images. As this is a Product development question it might be more suitable to be discussed on https://forum.snapcraft.io/ and/or https://forum.snapcraft.io/ I will close this bug report as opinion. As that what it is. I am glad to hear there is a desire for more all-snap systems. ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830660 Title: Feature Request: Use Snap for System Updates/Upgrades, Remove APT To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1830660/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1830660] [NEW] Feature Request: Use Snap for System Updates/Upgrades, Remove APT
Public bug reported: With the way things are currently, upgrading the system requires the user to either open Update Manager or add the repositories for the system being upgraded to. Sure, Update Manager does help solve problems somewhat, by literally changing the sources.list for the user automatically, but if anyone attempts to bypass Update Manager and try upgrading from one system to another via the command line, he or she will find it to be a hell of a lot more work than otherwise thought possible. Because Snap uses release channels, it solves this problem completely. Instead of needing to run "update-manager --devel-release" each time one upgrades to a beta (or having to enter the repositories manually if attempting to upgrade before the final month), imagine packing a future version of the entire system as a Snap package that one can just "snap install --devmode --classic ubuntu" onto an existing system. The Snap containing the entire system could then periodically be updated/patched with security updates or even just upgraded in the background every six months via the stable release channel. This would also make it much easier to upgrade to the development channel of the user's choice ― it would be possible to simply run snap with "--beta" on the system package to upgrade to a beta release, or even with "--edge" on the system package to upgrade to a pre-beta/alpha release. Much easier, IMO, than needing to either edit sources.list each time or risk there being duplicate sources.list entries for older releases that were already upgraded from, filling up the download queue and making "apt-get update" run slower and slower with each passing upgrade. [Bug 1826461] Re: Suspend fails on Ubuntu 18.04 when mobile network connected and no WiFi connection.
Hi, accidentally I might have discovered what was causing this problem. I was using Modem Manager Gui setup to auto-start after boot. Yesterday I have noticed that it's not working. I tried to start it manually but without success. It crashes immediately after start. But I have noticed one more thing – there is no problem with suspend anymore. It still needs testing but I think that it's safe to assume that Modem Manager Gui was causing my problems with suspend and mobile network connection. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826461 Title: Suspend fails on Ubuntu 18.04 when mobile network connected and no WiFi connection. [Bug 1830652] Re: On shutdown, peripherals turn off, but fans keep spinning, power LED is lit and screen is frozen at the plymouth screen
** Description changed: On shutdown, peripherals turn off (keyboard, mouse), but fans keep spinning, motherboard LEDs are lit and screen is frozen at the Ubuntu plymouth screen (no animations, frozen frame). The keyboard is turned off at this point, so the only way to properly shut down the computer is to press the power switch on the case for a few seconds. Without plymouth, the screen turns off as it should, but the other symptoms persist, such as fans never stop, power LED never turns off. + + Reboot works flawlessly. apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected disco ** Description changed: I've bougt new notebook with ryzen 3550h onboard (Asus fx705dy) and noticed one thing: whenever the cpu is fully loaded and the gpu is being used the cpu sets its freqeuncy to 400MHz and system works slow untill reboot. For example:I installed Android Studio. When I open large project in it and open youtube video in browser or start emulator system works on max frequency for couple of seconds and then lowers cpu frequency to 400MHz. If I just compile the project it'll work nice until using gpu. Another example is I can compile Unreal Engine within 1.5 hours without such problems if I just let notebook do it without browsing internet. I've tried a lot of things like settings cpufreq mode to performance (sudo cpufreq-set -r -g performance), disabling c6 state etc. The only workaround I found for now is disabling boost for cpu by executing echo 0 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/boost Any idea how to work on this system without disabling cpu boost? + --- + ProblemType: Bug + ApportVersion: 2.20.10-0ubuntu27 + Architecture: amd64 + CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.04 + InstallationDate: Installed on 2019-05-09 (18 days ago) + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.04 "Disco Dingo" - Release amd64 (20190416) + Package: linux (not installed) + Tags: disco + Uname: Linux 5.1.5-050105-generic x86_64 + UnreportableReason: The running kernel is not an Ubuntu kernel + UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) + UserGroups: adm cdrom dip lpadmin plugdev sambashare sudo + _MarkForUpload: True ** Attachment added: "ProcCpuinfoMinimal.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830522/+attachment/5266991/+files/ProcCpuinfoMinimal.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830522 Title: Ryzen 3550h lowers its frequency to 400MHz To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1830522/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Since "glustereventsd" is causing issue during the installation, it makes sense to stay consistent with what we have in later version. All documentation I have seen so far, indicate that glustereventsd need to be enable as well, so that approach seems align with official documentation found online. + + The only downside, that I can forsee, is that one shouldn't expect + "glusterfseventsd" to be up and running after the installation. + + It's a behaviour change per see, but in fact, since the current package + never been into a installable/useable stage in Bionic, then it's a + behaviour change that no one will notice since again nobody was able to + install the package in Bionic so far. + + The other option will be to upgrade the package to a non EOL version, + but same change behaviour will occur (same approach is used) but + code + change. I don't know how this code change may or may not impact Bionic + user, this will require more analysis. [Bug 1829657] Re: Ubuntu 16.04 with kernel 4.4.0-148 hangs on boot on a ThinkPad L460 while 4.4.0-145 doesnt
Diederik: Ubuntu 14.04 reached end of life, is no longer supported. Max, and anyone else affected by this issue with identical symptoms as Max on Ubuntu 16.04 with kernel 4.4.0-148, please consider testing this: 1. Add this to /etc/default/grub : GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX="text" 2. Add this to the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT option in /etc/default/grub : earlyprintk=efi, keep 3. Run: sudo update-grub 4. Try all of the following combinations of kernel boot parameters by editing them at the grub menu (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/KernelBootParameters): mitigations=off dis_ucode_ldr mitigations=off dis_ucode_ldr mds=off (Only) if any of these combinations boot fine, try them again at least five times or until a boot fails. Take notes and finally report how often you tried them and how often they booted fine, and whether there was a failed boot for each of these combinations. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1829657 Title: Ubuntu 16.04 with kernel 4.4.0-148 hangs on boot on a ThinkPad L460 while 4.4.0-145 doesnt To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-signed/+bug/1829657/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1830646] Re: can't update from 18.04 to 18.10
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, you seem to be using packages from PPAs. PPAs are unsupported by Ubuntu, and packages (and package versions) installed from those need to be removed before upgrading to a new Ubuntu release. This PPA, which you seem to use, https://launchpad.net/~oibaf/+archive/ubuntu/graphics-drivers , states: === Upgrading to a newer Ubuntu === It is *strongly* suggested to remove all packages from this PPA before updating to a newer Ubuntu release. See the section "Revert to original drivers" later on. Then, after the upgrade, you can add again this PPA. I am setting this bug report as incomplete - please change the sattus back to "new" should this issue continue to exist after all packages (and package versions) installed from PPAs have been removed. ** Changed in: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830646 Title: can't update from 18.04 to 18.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1830646/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1821252] Re: systemctl set-default breaks recovery mode
Hi, Thanks for opening this bug and proposing a patch. You have mentioned: "I believe this can be fixed by changing normaldir to earlydir in the generator." Did you test it ? We need to make sure it fixes this particular issue but also make sure it doesn't break anything nor cause regression. Feel free to provide as much details as possible to help a potential future sponsor to understand the situation and what has been done to come to conclusion that this is the appropriate fix. Another thing that would be highly appreciated ... if you could please create the SRU template. All the details can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates (3.1. [Bug 1830643] Re: Ubuntu 19.04 installation error
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. While we appreciate the difficulties you are facing, it would appear that the image (ISO file) you downloaded could be corrupt. There is an easy way to verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files you download. Could you please visit https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM follow the instructions and report back as to whether or not the MD5SUM verified? Thanks in advance. Another possibility is that while the ISO file downloaded properly, writing it to the installation media failed (or failed partially). You may test this by selecting the "Check disk for defects" from the early boot menu displayed by the desktop installer. --- Quoting UbiquitySyslog.txt: May 27 17:46:42 ubuntu kernel: [10776.897244] SQUASHFS error: zlib decompression failed, data probably corrupt May 27 17:46:42 ubuntu kernel: [10776.897249] SQUASHFS error: squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x5dd649be May 27 17:46:42 ubuntu kernel: [10776.898694] SQUASHFS error: zlib decompression failed, data probably corrupt May 27 17:46:42 ubuntu kernel: [10776.898698] SQUASHFS error: squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x5dd649be ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830643 Title: Ubuntu 19.04 installation error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1830643/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have now backported cups-filters 1.23.0 to Cosmic. To install it, go to my PPA https://launchpad.net/~till-kamppeter/+archive/ubuntu/ppa Follow the instructions under "Adding this PPA to your system" and then update your system. You will get the new cups-filters which contains my changes. Note that this version of cups-filters requires an update of QPDF which you will automatically get together with cups-filters. Please tell whether this version solves your problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1731417 Title: Installed network printer removed automatically when turned off To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-filters/+bug/1731417/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1830615] Re: glusterfs-server 3.13.2-1build1 installation fails in Bionic because starting up the glustereventsd.service times out
Looking later glusterfs-server package from Cosmic and late, the tendency is to have glustereventsd disabled, in order to stay consistent with the more modern package, this can be one avenue to fix the situation Of course, I haven't look nor discuss about upgrading to a more recent (non-eol version). But this eol/non-eol discussion can still happen separately later on even after we have fix that particular install breakage issue. I built a test package with the disabling glustereventsd part, and installed it in a test container: ... glusterd.service is a disabled or a static unit, not starting it. glustereventsd.service is a disabled or a static unit, not starting it. ... $ systemctl is-enabled glustereventsd.service disabled If I start it manually, everything works now, and the installation goes smooth. $ systemctl start glustereventsd.service $ systemctl status glustereventsd.service ● glustereventsd.service - Gluster Events Notifier Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/glustereventsd.service; disabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: active (running) since Mon 2019-05-27 17:47:14 UTC; 1s ago Main PID: 6175 (glustereventsd) Tasks: 2 (limit: 4915) CGroup: /system.slice/glustereventsd.service ├─6175 /usr/bin/python2 /usr/sbin/glustereventsd --pid-file /var/run/glustereventsd.pid └─6176 /usr/bin/python2 /usr/sbin/glustereventsd --pid-file /var/run/glustereventsd.pid The only downside, is that one shouldn't expect glusterfseventsd to be up and running after the installation, but it's better that current situation where nothing is installable at all. ** Changed in: glusterfs (Ubuntu Bionic) Assignee: (unassigned) => Eric Desrochers (slashd) ** Changed in: glusterfs (Ubuntu Bionic) Status: Confirmed => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830615 Title: glusterfs-server 3.13.2-1build1 installation fails in Bionic because starting up the glustereventsd.service times out To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glusterfs/+bug/1830615/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1803203] Re: Support preferred_lft for IPv6 addresses
Some notes for reference: We might actually have some trouble in expressing the Lifetime of an Address in the Netplan schema. From the Netplan Reference [0] we can see that the 'addresses:' field accepts a list of mixed IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. We can't just add a 'lifetime:' field to the schema, because then we wouldn't have a way to link that value to one of the addresses in the mixed list. I can see a few different ways to change the configuration to accommodate the lifetime change: 1) Implement a list of lifetimes, which would "follow" the list of addresses (i.e. lifetime[0] corresponds to addresses[0] and so on) 2) Modify the address syntax inside the list to allow an optional lifetime, e.g.: addresses: [127.0.0.1 (forever), "2001:1::1/64 (0)"] 3) Allow the definition of an address+lifetime mapping and use that in the 'addresses' field, e.g.: myaddr: value: 127.0.0.1 lifetime: 0 ... addresses: [ myaddr, 2001:1::1/64 ] Option 1 has the obvious problem of matching one lifetime to a list of multiple addresses. Say we want to specify a lifetime to address number K in the list, would we need to specify a lifetime for all of them? How would we "skip" default lifetimes with this approach? Option 2 has the benefit of being somewhat compatible with the current schema in the sense that if no lifetime is specified, we can keep the current behavior. I feel like it would introduce a lot of complexity in the schema parsing code to sort the addresses from the lifetime though, and this might not be something that we want in a sensitive code section. Option 3 looks very flexible, but I'm not familiar enough with the schema and its parsing code to estimate the impact that would have. I think we would need quite a few significant changes, and I'm not really sure where we would place the 'myaddr' definition in the schema either. None of the above options feel like a good way to solve the lifetime problem, but I'm not sure we have an easy way to integrate that into the current netplan schema. Perhaps someone more experienced with the Netplan schema/codebase might offer better insight on how to tackle this issue. [Bug 1830641] [NEW] User-defined IPv4 routing tables are not created when using DHCP and setting use_routes to false
Public bug reported: Using netplan.io 0.97-0ubuntu1~18.04.1 with this configuration: network: ethernets: eth0: dhcp4: true dhcp4-overrides: use-routes: false routes: - to: 0.0.0.0/0 via: 192.168.0.1 table: 1 - to: 192.168.0.1/24 via: 192.168.0.1 table: 1 routing-policy: - to: 0.0.0.0/0 from: 192.168.0.1/24 table: 1 eth1: dhcp4: true dhcp4-overrides: use-routes: false routes: - to: 0.0.0.0/0 via: 192.168.30.1 table: 2 - to: 192.168.30.1/24 via: 192.168.30.1 table: 2 routing-policy: - to: 0.0.0.0/0 from: 192.168.30.1/24 table: 2 version: 2 I understand from the documentation that netplan should discard the routes recived from DHCP, and add my defined routes. In my configuration I want so setup source routing, and I expect netplan to create table 1 and table 2 from this configuration. But, with this config. None of the tables is actually created: root@bunt:~# ip -4 rule list 0: from all lookup local 0: from 192.168.30.1/24 lookup 2 0: from 192.168.0.1/24 lookup 1 32766: from all lookup main 32767: from all lookup default root@bunt:~# ip -4 route show table 1 root@bunt:~# ip -4 route show table 2 The rules are in place, but the routing tables are empty/non-existing. ** Affects: netplan.io (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830641 Title: User-defined IPv4 routing tables are not created when using DHCP and setting use_routes to false To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/netplan.io/+bug/1830641/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
