[Bug 1850779] Re: [L3] snat-ns will be initialized twice for DVR+HA routers during agent restart
I think this fix causes problems. We have multiple nodes that are DVR_SNAT mode. Snat namespace is scheduled to 1 of them. When l3-agent is restarted on the othre nodes, now, initialize() is invoked always for DvrEdgeRouter which creates the SNAT namespace prematurely. This in turn causes external_gateway_added() to later detect that this host is NOT hosting snat router, but the namespace exists, so it removes it by triggerring external_gateway_removed(dvr_edge_router --> dvr_local_router) Problem is that the dvr_local_router code for external_gateway_removed() ends up DELETING the rfp/fpr pair and severs the qrouter connection to fip namespace (and deletes all the FIP routes in fip namespace as a result). Prior to this bug fix, _create_snat_namespace for DvrEdgeRouter was only invoked in _create_dvr_gateway(), which was only invoked when the node was actually hosting SNAT for the router. Even without the breaking issue of deleting the rtr_2_fip link, this fix uneccesarily creates SNAT namespace on every host, only for it to be deleted. FYI this is for non-HA routers -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1850779 Title: [L3] snat-ns will be initialized twice for DVR+HA routers during agent restart To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1850779/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1926528] [NEW] random failure of grub-installer, working after several retries
Public bug reported: I prepared an unattended install usb key for focal base on netboot.iso "http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/focal/main/installer-amd64/current/legacy-images/netboot/mini.iso; I'm modifying it to install a preseed to create user account, auto partitioning and such things. On some machines the unattended install stops when executing the step "Install the GRUB boot loader on a hard disk". The problem was rather bizarre because if I retried to execute several times the Install Grub step it eventually worked. As the installation logs were not saying much, I eventually edited grub- installer on the boot key to enable the commented 'set +x' at the beginning of the script. Is the content the content of syslog relevant to this bug, both for a breaking boot loader installation and a working one. I was able to dig out and find where the bug is coming from. Actually the origin of the bug is rather funny. grub-installer script enables break on error with a 'set -e' at beginning of the script. A few lines below the script do: initial_proc_contents="$(ls $ROOT/proc)" But in the failing cases ls command is returning an exit code of 1 instead of 0 and stops the script. I checked by doing a direct ls /target/proc ; echo $? from the shell. And I actually get 1 most of the time and eventually 0 when I get lucky (which would lead to grub installing correctly). My understanding of that the underlying cause is that some process terminated while ls was running and thus the pid of that process disappeard from the /proc directory in the middle of the command. After find that I was also able to check the bug disappears when modifying grub-installer (just did 'set +e' just before the ls and reenabled 'set -e' just after it, but there may be a better way to fix that). After that change the grub installation step works every time and if I remove that change it starts again to break randomly. Hopefully this report will help to fix that behavior in grub-installer as I don't know how to prepackage package it in my key. ** Affects: grub-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "syslog part relevant to the bogus behavior" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926528/+attachment/5493167/+files/syslog-grub-installer.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926528 Title: random failure of grub-installer, working after several retries To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1926528/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1926527] [NEW] "Power off" dialog appears when any three keyboard keys are pressed quickly
Public bug reported: Fresh 21.04 install on a fresh Asus G713QR-HG016. Gnome desktop, Spanish language. I first noticed the bug while typing, but I can reduce it to this: when three keyboard keys are pressed fast enough (and it doesn't need to be really fast, I'm not a fast typist), the "Power off" dialog appears, announcing that the system is shutting down automatically in 60 seconds. It doesn't happen pressing the same key three times quickly. It doesn't happen either keeping a key pushed. It needs to be at least two different keys. Typing "aaa" really fast doesn't trigger the bug. Typing "off" or "any" does. This happens even when there is no text field in the focus. I can trigger it pushing keys in the desktop. Of course, this renders the system unusable for me. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "power_off.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926527/+attachment/5493166/+files/power_off.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926527 Title: "Power off" dialog appears when any three keyboard keys are pressed quickly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1926527/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1828107] Re: gvfs can't list shares from smb servers that disabled SMB1
Just to add another voice to the crowd, I'm on Xubuntu 20.04 and I just ran across this problem myself. I am using the Nemo file browser, but the same thing occurs with Nautilus and Thunar. I didn't notice the problem for a long while because I had three legacy Windows machines on the network (all running Windows 10 at this point) and had made file browser bookmarks to the important shares long ago. These bookmarks have continued to work to this day without issue. I got a new Windows 10 machine a few weeks ago and was having the problem everyone reports of not being able to connect ("Failed to retrieve share list from server") on the new machine, even though all the existing bookmarks were still functioning file. All of the Windows 10 machines were able to see one another without problem. Then I ran across this thread and tried Bloodyiron's suggestion of killing the gvfsd-smb-browse process. Immediately I was able to connect to the new machine using Nemo. I quickly created some needed bookmarks to the important shares and now I can communicate using the file browser and expect the new bookmarks to be as reliable as the others. So I would suggest this bookmark method to others as a workaround. This supports Craig W's comment about the difference between discovery and browsing. When I run "smbclient -L // -U ", it reports all of the shares on the target, whether Windows or Linux, with the closing message: "SMB1 disabled -- no workgroup available" as expected. Unfortunately, this is only a one-way solution. All of the legacy Windows 10 machines can see and access the Samba shares on the Xubuntu box, but I haven't yet figured out a way to get the new Windows machine to access these same shares, with or without gvfsd-smb-browse running. Every connection attempt is rejected and I haven't found useful messages in the logs. If I figure out a solution, I'll post here, and I'm open to suggestions. I agree with the general sentiment that for a service as important as this, there isn't any real excuse for this thing dragging out for two years as it has. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1828107 Title: gvfs can't list shares from smb servers that disabled SMB1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/1828107/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
