[Bug 1256185] Re: [MIR] libsdl2
FYI I added the package subscription while we intend to complete this to not miss it later. BTW it might be time for the dependency stats of the day on this topic comparing v1 and v2: Mid 2017: dep-sdl1.2: 400 b-dep-sdl1.2: 327 Mid2020 dep-sdl2: 179 b-dep-sdl2: 154 dep-sdl1.2: 379 b-dep-sdl1.2: 278 Now (mid 2021) dep-sdl2: 180 b-dep-sdl2: 161 dep-sdl1.2: 301 b-dep-sdl1.2: 270 So to be clear, this still will not allow sdl1 to be removed - but it was already demoted in >=Focal and we will have "only one sdl in main" after this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1256185 Title: [MIR] libsdl2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libsdl2/+bug/1256185/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1256185] Re: [MIR] libsdl2
Thanks for the review Alex! SDL as qemu backend is in many cases inferior to GTK which we continue to use and recommend as default. But at the same time there are over and over some edge cases where SDL would be beneficial to users. For those we wanted and will be able to enable it now - that will be great towards 22.04. Starting Build and Test with this enabled to ensure that the old assumptions still hold true in 2022.

[Bug 1851573] Re: configuration file //.config/debconf-kde-helperrc not writable
Creating the .config folder and file works fine (for me anyway). Think there may be some confusion as to the pathing - the .config folder SHOULD be /home/username/,config - but, it's NOT. The command //.config, at least in my case, is referring to a non-existent folder - specifically /.config (yes - off the root directory). Of course, the folder doesn't exist and even if it did, in it's location we wouldn't have access to it. Simple to "fix", but a bit clumsy terminal - sudo su or whatever you gotta do to get root cd / mkdir .config cd .config touch debconf-kde-helperrc cd / chown -hR username .config Inelegant, but whatever, it works. I've avoided too much command line trickery as that's always a bit confusing for some folks (myself included - just getting back into linux after years away, gotta say it's AMAZING). Anyway, be looking into the root cause of this issue as time allows, but until then, it's working without error and the file doesn't seem to get written to anyway (still 0 bytes) Cheers -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1851573 Title: configuration file //.config/debconf-kde-helperrc not writable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kde-runtime/+bug/1851573/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1930359] Re: gdm fails to start with latest mutter 3.36.9-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 in focal-updates
I spent some time attempting to reproduce on AWS today, using a g4dn.xlarge instance, which has a Nvidia Tesla T4 GPU, which supports GRID. I installed ubuntu-desktop-minimal and rebooted, and gdm started fine with mutter 3.36.9-0ubuntu0.20.04.1. I confirmed this by looking at the instance screenshot. I then downloaded and installed the Nvidia GRID 450.51.05 driver, and rebooted. The system came up, I checked lsmod, the nvidia kernel modules were loaded, and the instance screenshot shows gdm running. I then installed VMware Horizon Agent 7.13.0-17123958 and rebooted, and again, gdm started just fine. Attached status of gdm3.service, nvidia-smi and instance screenshot. I wonder if this is GPU specific? or hypervisor specific, since the affected user runs on VMware esxi. I will again ask for more information. But for the moment, this seems very specific to the affected user's environment, and not a widespread regression. ** Attachment added: "Output of systemctl status and nvidia smi" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1930359/+attachment/5505411/+files/aws-working-g4dn-xlarge.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1930359 Title: gdm fails to start with latest mutter 3.36.9-0ubuntu0.20.04.1 in focal-updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1930359/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

For 1, because don't know the details about operated registers in - rtl_hw_aspm_clkreq_enable, it have higher risk. + rtl_hw_aspm_clkreq_enable, it have higher risk on power usage during + suspend. For 2, Use PHY_POLL have a lower risk because don't change any register operations and use polling method to query link change status. SRU the patches for 2 first. Currently keep discussing with Realtek but don't figure out yet. Will re-SRU the official solution once Realtek resolve the issue. Ref [1], https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net- next.git/commit/?id=1ee8856de82faec9bc8bd0f2308a7f27e30ba207 [Test] Verified on machines with Realtek Ethernet device, the Ethernet works well after hotplug 30 times. We verified on the DL360 Gen10 plus and Apollo 4200 Gen10 Plus with onboard Intel NIC. The SUT installed OS is from the ubuntu-18.04.4 -server-amd64.iso. Since the OS is not able to boot, there is no info for the "uname -a" command. [Bug 1927868] Re: vRouter not working after update to 16.3.1
FWIW, I don't believe that the commit referenced in comment #9 is related to the problem, unless there's a race condition introduced by the added delay. Looking at that commit, the code will try harder to make sure that the device in the namespace exists before proceeding on as it did before. The log shows the error messages because the referenced change introduced a log message for the condition that the device doesn't exist in the namespace. The code in that code path continues as it did previously even when the error is logged. As a result, that change primarily waits up to 3 seconds longer for the device to exist and will then log the error for awareness, but still continues in the same code path. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927868 Title: vRouter not working after update to 16.3.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1927868/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1932367] [NEW] Pixel format change broken for Elgato Cam Link 4K
Public bug reported: The Elgato Cam Link 4K HDMI video capture card reports to support three different pixel formats, where the first format depends on the connected HDMI device. ``` $ v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video0 --list-formats-ext ioctl: VIDIOC_ENUM_FMT Type: Video Capture [0]: 'NV12' (Y/CbCr 4:2:0) Size: Discrete 3840x2160 Interval: Discrete 0.033s (29.970 fps) [1]: 'NV12' (Y/CbCr 4:2:0) Size: Discrete 3840x2160 Interval: Discrete 0.033s (29.970 fps) [2]: 'YU12' (Planar YUV 4:2:0) Size: Discrete 3840x2160 Interval: Discrete 0.033s (29.970 fps) ``` Changing the pixel format to anything besides the first pixel format does not work: ``` $ v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video0 --try-fmt-video pixelformat=YU12 Format Video Capture: Width/Height : 3840/2160 Pixel Format : 'NV12' (Y/CbCr 4:2:0) Field : None Bytes per Line: 3840 Size Image: 12441600 Colorspace: sRGB Transfer Function : Rec. 709 YCbCr/HSV Encoding: Rec. 709 Quantization : Default (maps to Limited Range) Flags : ``` User space applications like VLC might show an error message on the terminal in that case: ``` libv4l2: error set_fmt gave us a different result than try_fmt! ``` Depending on the error handling of the user space applications, they might display a distorted video, because they use the wrong pixel format for decoding the stream. The Elgato Cam Link 4K responds to the USB video probe VS_PROBE_CONTROL/VS_COMMIT_CONTROL with a malformed data structure: The second byte contains bFormatIndex (instead of being the second byte of bmHint). The first byte is always zero. The third byte is always 1. The firmware bug was reported to Elgato on 2020-12-01 and it was forwarded by the support team to the developers as feature request. There is no firmware update available since then. The latest firmware for Elgato Cam Link 4K as of 2021-03-23 has MCU 20.02.19 and FPGA 67. Therefore correct the malformed data structure for this device. The change was successfully tested with VLC, OBS, and Chromium using different pixel formats (YUYV, NV12, YU12), resolutions (3840x2160, 1920x1080), and frame rates (29.970 and 59.940 fps). The fix was reviewed and accepted by the subsystem maintainer and will be included upstream: https://git.linuxtv.org/media_stage.git/commit/?id=4c6e0976295add7f0ed94d276c04a3d6f1ea8f83 Attached a backported patch for Ubuntu. [Bug 1926062] Re: [hirsute/impish] Can't turn bluetooth on again after turning it off
I upgraded yesterday from 20.10 to 21.04. In 20.10 I had trouble pairing with my current headphones (Havit 162) - I had to repair through the terminal. Now, in 21.04, the repairing works in the GUI. However, today I turned off the bluetooth in the GUI and when I tried to turn it on again the toggle did not work. I had to input in the terminal ```systemctl restart bluetooth``` -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1926062 Title: [hirsute/impish] Can't turn bluetooth on again after turning it off To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1926062/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1931815] Re: the %{remote_ip} output format is broken on proxied connections
The socks.c code shows that cURL does not even attempt DNS resolution on SOCKS4a. Strictly speaking, the SOCKS4a spec expects apps to /attempt/ DNS resolution before contacting the socks server. I won't complain on this point though because the status quo is favorable to Tor users (as it protects them from DNS leaks). The fallout is that the SOCKS server does not give feedback to the app on the IP it settles on in the socks4a scenario. This means cURL has no possible way of knowing which IP to express in the %{remote_ip} output. After seeing the code I'm calling out these bugs: bug 1) SOCKS4a: Considering that Curl_resolve() is unconditionally bypassed, when a user supplies both --resolve and also demands socks4a cURL will neglect to honor the --resolve option even though the two options are theoretically compatible. This is a minor bug because socks4 can be used instead as a workaround. But certainly the man page should at a minimum disclose the artificial incompatibility between socks4a and --resolve. bug 2) SOCKS4a docs: cURL has some discretion whether to attempt DNS resolution or not. Yet the docs do not clarify. Users should get reassurance in the man page that using socks4a unconditionally refrains from internal DNS resolution. bug 3) SOCKS4: Since cURL *must* do DNS resolution, cURL must also know what the target IP is. Thus cURL should properly return the %{remote_ip} value. bug 4) The docs for %{remote_ip} should tell users what to expect for that value. The man page is vague enough to be useless. Workaround: if proxy users need to know which IP cURL connected to, they must do their own DNS resolution manually outside of cURL (e.g. using dig), supply the IP & hostname via --resolve, and use SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 (not SOCKS4a). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1931815 Title: the %{remote_ip} output format is broken on proxied connections To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/curl/+bug/1931815/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1929657] Re: [Ubuntu 20.4.2] vLan not getting static IP assigned (on s390x)
No, I think we cannot gather much more data and logs than we already did. (Except the ude rules themselves, but they will not change with a kernel update.) I am relatively confident that this is not an netplan issue since I verified the files in /run/systemd/network/ and the look good and fit nicely to the yaml. I found a similar upstream issue, checking if this is close enough. I'm gonna reach out to another team and will discuss some potential next steps. So you can (and should) update, since the 5.4.0-74 is a significant update (and incl. the upstream stable patches from v5.4.107 to .114). [Bug 1881941] Re: Ubuntu dock behaves crazy when hidden at the bottom of the screen
I can recreate this issue with many other applications, not limited to intellij. From my experience, this has much more to do with timing. Order of operations for recreation that I tested with only firefox open: 1. Make any program doc/stick to the bottom of the screen (easiest way to do this is to make the program full screen). 2. Move your mouse cursor to the bottom of the screen to unhide the bottom dock. (This will force it to draw over the full screen aplication you have open). 3. Very quickly move your cursor away from the bottom of the screen forcing the dock to start to hide again. 4. Before the doc hides again, this happens very quickly, move the mouse back down to the bottom of the screen to unhide the dock again. Very often, but not always, this procedure will recreate the bug and cause the dock menu to fidgit between trying to hide its self and un- hide its self. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1881941 Title: Ubuntu dock behaves crazy when hidden at the bottom of the screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock/+bug/1881941/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The following upstream stable patches should be included in the Ubuntu kernel: upstream stable patchset 2021-06-17 Ported from the following upstream stable releases: v5.4.121, v5.10.39 v5.4.122, v5.10.40 v5.4.123, v5.10.41 from git://git.kernel.org/ x86/msr: Fix wr/rdmsr_safe_regs_on_cpu() prototypes kgdb: fix gcc-11 warning on indentation usb: sl811-hcd: improve misleading indentation cxgb4: Fix the -Wmisleading-indentation warning isdn: capi: fix mismatched prototypes virtio_net: Do not pull payload in skb->head PCI: thunder: Fix compile testing dmaengine: dw-edma: Fix crash on loading/unloading driver ARM: 9066/1: ftrace: pause/unpause function graph tracer in cpu_suspend() ACPI / hotplug / PCI: Fix reference count leak in enable_slot() Input: elants_i2c - do not bind to i2c-hid compatible ACPI instantiated devices Input: silead - add workaround for x86 BIOS-es which bring the chip up in a stuck state um: Mark all kernel symbols as local um: Disable CONFIG_GCOV with MODULES ARM: 9075/1: kernel: Fix interrupted SMC calls scripts/recordmcount.pl: Fix RISC-V regex for clang riscv: Workaround mcount name prior to clang-13 scsi: lpfc: Fix illegal memory access on Abort IOCBs ceph: fix fscache invalidation scsi: target: tcmu: Return from tcmu_handle_completions() if cmd_id not found bridge: Fix possible races between assigning rx_handler_data and setting IFF_BRIDGE_PORT bit drm/amd/display: Fix two cursor duplication when using overlay gpiolib: acpi: Add quirk to ignore EC wakeups on Dell Venue 10 Pro 5055 ALSA: hda: generic: change the DAC ctl name for LO+SPK or LO+HP block: reexpand iov_iter after read/write lib: stackdepot: turn depot_lock spinlock to raw_spinlock net: stmmac: Do not enable RX FIFO overflow interrupts ip6_gre: proper dev_{hold|put} in ndo_[un]init methods sit: proper dev_{hold|put} in ndo_[un]init methods ip6_tunnel: sit: proper dev_{hold|put} in ndo_[un]init methods ipv6: remove extra dev_hold() for fallback tunnels tweewide: Fix most Shebang lines scripts: switch explicitly to Python 3 drm/i915/display: fix compiler warning about array overrun airo: work around stack usage warning PCI: tegra: Fix runtime PM imbalance in pex_ep_event_pex_rst_deassert() NFS: NFS_INO_REVAL_PAGECACHE should mark the change attribute invalid riscv: Use $(LD) instead of $(CC) to link vDSO ceph: don't clobber i_snap_caps on non-I_NEW inode ceph: don't allow access to MDS-private inodes nvmet: remove unsupported command noise net:CXGB4: fix leak if sk_buff is not used UBUNTU: upstream stable to v5.4.121, v5.10.39 firmware: arm_scpi: Prevent the ternary sign expansion bug openrisc: Fix a memory leak RDMA/siw: Properly check send and receive CQ pointers RDMA/siw: Release xarray entry RDMA/rxe: Clear all QP fields if creation failed scsi: ufs: core: Increase the usable queue depth scsi: qla2xxx: Fix error return code in qla82xx_write_flash_dword() RDMA/mlx5: Recover from fatal event in dual port mode RDMA/core: Don't access cm_id after its destruction platform/mellanox: mlxbf-tmfifo: Fix a memory barrier issue platform/x86: dell-smbios-wmi: Fix oops on rmmod dell_smbios RDMA/uverbs: Fix a NULL vs IS_ERR() bug ptrace: make ptrace() fail if the tracee changed its pid unexpectedly nvmet: seset ns->file when open fails locking/mutex: clear MUTEX_FLAGS if wait_list is empty due to signal btrfs: avoid RCU stalls while running delayed iputs cifs: fix memory leak in smb2_copychunk_range ALSA: dice: fix stream format for TC Electronic Konnekt Live at high sampling transfer frequency ALSA: intel8x0: Don't update period unless prepared ALSA: line6: Fix racy initialization of LINE6 MIDI ALSA: dice: fix stream format at middle sampling rate for Alesis iO 26 ALSA: firewire-lib: fix calculation for size of IR context payload ALSA: usb-audio: Validate MS endpoint descriptors ALSA: bebob/oxfw: fix Kconfig entry for Mackie d.2 Pro ALSA: hda: fixup headset for ASUS GU502 laptop Revert "ALSA: sb8: add a check for request_region" ALSA: firewire-lib: fix check for the size of isochronous packet payload ALSA: hda/realtek: reset eapd coeff to default value for alc287 ALSA: hda/realtek: Add some CLOVE SSIDs of ALC293 ALSA: hda/realtek: Fix silent headphone output on ASUS UX430UA ALSA: hda/realtek: Add fixup for HP OMEN laptop ALSA: hda/realtek: Add fixup for HP Spectre x360 15-df0xxx uio_hv_generic: Fix a memory leak in error handling paths Revert "rapidio: fix a NULL pointer dereference when create_workqueue() fails" rapidio: handle create_workqueue
