Following a restart of Ubuntu server to finish updates, the computer is stuck

Internal Speakers on DELL Inspirion broken
I'm on a PI4, where the latest impish kernel is linux-
image-5.13.0-1009-raspi 5.13.0-1009.10 and I saw the bug
there. I reverted to kernel linux-image-5.11.0-1021-raspi
5.11.0-1021.22 and was able to mount my encrypted datasets again.
The kernel versioning seems to be different in the
Contacted Ubuntu maintainers who pointed me to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates where I get stuck in
Chapter 3 Step 3 to 4.

I upgraded from 21.04 to 21.10. Afterwards the internal speakers of my
DELL Inspirion laptop are no longer recognized. Instead headphones are
recognized (which are not there) and there is no speaker output. A USB
Headset works fine.
If I boot the system with the old kernel
I have the same issue with XPS 9310 when upgrading from 5.13.0-19 or 5.13.0-20
to 5.13.0-21.
5.13.0-19 or 5.13.0-20 work both fine for me.
