[Bug 1956263] Re: Situationm
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem. 2. The behavior you expected. 3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Bug reporting is mostly about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug. I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709 You mention `grub` which is a boot loader; thus it's a boot issue and the OS doesn't start? Screen blanking can occur during the boot process (video hardware switches modes) for some hardware setups. Grub config has documentation; eg. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2/Setup but it's all geared at altering the boot process; or making the grub menu more appealing. You're also not using Ubuntu kernel, with various 3rd party packages, such as what is found in a 3rd OS/source (eg. not `21.0.3-0ubuntu0.3~20.04.5` but `21.2.2-1ubuntu1pop0~1634226723~20.04~b715ae2~dev` so issues should be addressed with the 3rd party packager (possibly system76) as you're not using Ubuntu packages. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956263 Title: Situationm To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1956263/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1956263] [NEW] Situationm
Public bug reported: I have been using ubuntu for nearly ten years, but have only recently started taking things seriously. My particular issue is that every now and then I have a screen blinking problem. I have done a bunch of research, and it points to the grub configuration. I have downloaded and installed grub customizer. But I am not sure what all the options are and am afraid of messing anyting up. Not sure that coming here will help, or how I can pay for any help. Thanks for reading, and for any help you are able to provide. PS I am running Ubundu 20.03 on a System 76 Mini box. [Bug 1956248] [NEW] I get two characters in Activities when I press one key for the first key I press...
Public bug reported: If I click the Activities in the upper right hand corner of the screen, then do NOT click in the search bar and begin to type, I get two of whatever character I hit. At first I thought it was due to my keyboard wearing out, but it happens on multiple computers, and whatever key I type, even infrequently used ones. If I click in the search bar before I type, then the characters are not duplicated. If I then backspace over the single character that was correctly displayed in the search bar and type another character, that character is doubled. Bounce keys will not eliminate this either. I started noticing doubling characters a couple of weeks (approximately) ago. I didn't start to suspect the real reason until recently. Thanks for working on this for all of us! [Bug 1952421] Re: Issue on sshd finds correct private key for a certificate when using ssh-agent
Hey everyone, I can confirm the fix has been tested by our friends at Google (Anthos) for Focal 20.04, using the same patch used in 1:8.2p1-4ubuntu0.4 but *not* by using the package from focal-proposed itself. Hopefully this still suffices? Please let me know if not and I'll re-run the verification again using an instance pulling from focal-proposed. [RATIONALE] Need SSH to authenticate a ``HostCertificate`` and an SSH agent that holds the corresponding host private key. The sshd_config has the following directives: -- HostCertificate the public host certificate whose public key matches the private key stored in the ssh agent -- HostKey the public key of the host keypair -- HostKeyAgent the socket of the ssh agent that holds the host private key Before the patch, this combination didn't work - even though it authenticated successfully the setup behaved as if ``HostCertificate`` was never configured (i.e. it authenticated using only the public key and the private key in the ssh agent). [VERIFICATION OF FIX] sh-agent -a /path/agent-socket SSH_AUTH_SOCK=/path/agent-socket ssh-add -k /path/hostkey Then ran ``sshd`` with: HostCertificate /path/hostkey-cert.pub HostKey /path/hostkey.pub HostKeyAgent /path/agent-socket Then configured the CA trust anchor on the client's side. (localhost was used, but it would be the same if a second host is used as a client) ssh -vv localhost shows the host certificate was seen and used. ** Tags removed: verification-needed-focal ** Tags added: verification-done-focal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1952421 Title: Issue on sshd finds correct private key for a certificate when using ssh-agent To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1952421/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1845797]
Unfortunately I replicated those same failures. All five speakers work just fine in Windows (using qemu) although the played back verbs will only continue activating the same speakers. When I tested it I was able to "break" and "restore" the speakers using different verb-sets, so while it's definitely making some changes, it doesn't seem to be impacting the bottom speakers in the slightest. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1845797 Title: Microphone not detected Lenovo Yoga S940 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1845797/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1891673] Fix merged to neutron (stable/queens)
Reviewed: https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/neutron/+/810397 Committed: https://opendev.org/openstack/neutron/commit/b950fff6700bdfaacbf64415b322525ddcab85ef Submitter: "Zuul (22348)" Branch:stable/queens commit b950fff6700bdfaacbf64415b322525ddcab85ef Author: Rodolfo Alonso Hernandez Date: Thu Jun 3 14:49:45 2021 + Populate self.floating_ips_dict using "ip rule" information When the L3 agent starts, reads the floating IP rule priority from a state file created by "FipRulePriorityAllocator". In case of not having all floating IPs registers in this file, the method: - Creates a new priority for this floating IP. - Creates the "ip rule" in the namespace. - Adds a new entry in "self.floating_ips_dict". All "ip rules" present in the namespace that do not match the registered fixed IP address ("from") and the priority assigned are deleted. Closes-Bug: #1891673 Closes-Bug: #1929821 Conflicts: neutron/agent/l3/dvr_local_router.py neutron/tests/unit/agent/l3/test_agent.py neutron/tests/unit/agent/l3/test_dvr_local_router.py That patch additionally changes to use old IpRuleCommand.add() method from the ip_lib module as in that branch it's not yet moved to use pyroute2 library. Public bug reported: g++ 9.3.0-17ubuntu1~20.04 miscompiles the following example for x86 (bar_stdcall should pop 4 bytes fewer than an bar_cdecl, as stdcall is callee-cleanup for the argument). The regression seems to have happened upstream in https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=90750 - https://gcc.gnu.org/git/?p=gcc.git;a=commit;h=aa988998be8f85334665a6b049d5d9139408c250 - which ubuntu has backported into git-updates.patch (it's in in gcc-9_9.3.0-17ubuntu1~20.04.debian.tar.xz, I have not pinned down when ubuntu picked this up). The regression was fixed in 10.2 by https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=95222 - https://gcc.gnu.org/git/?p=gcc.git;a=commit;efdbd4fbea08005091e490ec3f9972aa9c946374 and https://gcc.gnu.org/git/?p=gcc.git;a=commit;0c473d8f32510fcc96d584ee5099b856cfd3d8d6). I don't think it was realized (when the was found/fixed upstream) that it could also cause wrong-code, so I'm just posting this to make you aware that ubuntu has backported a regression and not the fix. [Bug 1956235] Re: Pointer Location (which uses Ctrl key) conflicts with other Ctrl-based shortcuts
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1956235/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1956235] [NEW] Pointer Location (which uses Ctrl key) conflicts with other Ctrl-based shortcuts
Public bug reported: When activating Pointer Location function, I cannot use any other Ctrl- based shortcuts. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X, etc. just stop working because Pointer Location is fired up once Ctrl is pressed. I think that shortcuts should work as follows: shortcut bound commands should be activated after keys are released. (BTW, don't know whether it's OK to write here but I've never had such issues with Windows OS, because no shortcuts interrupt one another there and it's very important nowadays because shortcuts help saving one's valuable time).
