[Bug 1968757] Re: [UIFe] New icon still not present on Ubuntu Desktop Guide
An issue with the various reddish background banners is that everyone seems to use something a little different for RGB. Examples: 233/84/20; 220/70/29; 208/86/48; 221/72/20 and so any logo that has a visible red area around the white circle of friends part has a visible transition against such a background. What is needed is a master 32X32 new circle of friends part, with transparent background for these applications (help.ubuntu.com, ubuntu forums, ask ubuntu, ...) Anyway, I think we have a good enough solution for now. It should go live on help.ubuntu.com in about 9 hours. We'll wait for favicon.ico until the main site changes it, and then just steal it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1968757 Title: [UIFe] New icon still not present on Ubuntu Desktop Guide To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-docs/+bug/1968757/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1969243] Re: gdm 42.0-1ubuntu4 no longer shows Wayland option
This bug was fixed in the package gdm3 - 42.0-1ubuntu6 --- gdm3 (42.0-1ubuntu6) jammy; urgency=medium * Fix Wayland no longer being available for everyone - Fix by adding a separate revert patch instead of trying to rebase the cherry-picked patches (LP: #1969243) * Please note that Wayland is not currently available for systems using the Nvidia graphics drivers because those drivers don't properly handle suspend and resuming from suspend. It is intended for those drivers to be fixed in a future stable release update for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. [Bug 1969314] Re: xdg-user-dirs-gtk-update not display panel
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Libera.chat. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1969314/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1969311] [NEW] Wayland disabled unconditionally on 22.04 (except for Nvidia)
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1969243 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969243 Public bug reported: Since the following commit, Wayland is not available (the gears button on the login screen does not show at all): https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/commit/data/61-gdm.rules.in?h=applied/ubuntu/jammy=54712c1fdc52345749802a0c1d3647458b9c9bef Commenting out the lines in /lib/udev/rules.d/61-gdm.rules that are added by this commit resolves the problem. The commit introduces a check for presence of some Nvidia utilities that are required for suspend/resume under Wayland. However my machine does not have an Nvidia GPU, so it is obviously missing those utilities, and Wayland is disabled erroneously. Upstream has an additional guard to skip these checks (and as such keeping Wayland enabled) on non-Nvidia hardware, see https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gdm/-/blob/main/data/61-gdm.rules.in#L50 It seems like these guards were accidentally omitted in the Ubuntu cherry-pick. To make matters worse, this missing guard causes "/usr/libexec/gdm- runtime-config set daemon WaylandEnable false" to be executed on EVERY udev event. Probably related to bug 1968809 and bug 1968929. [Bug 1969121] Re: System fallback to gdm login screen when hot-plugging a external monitor in 1st time
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Changed in: oem-priority Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969121 Title: System fallback to gdm login screen when hot-plugging a external monitor in 1st time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/1969121/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
