but when I today tried the live CD of 4.1., the partitioner saw my SATA
disk and the partitions on it normally. It would be interesting to know,

Nv driver works for me now and installation is fine. Have you redabour
tried to install from alternate CD? That way you propably would be able
to get a working system with the command line and see the installation
logs. I'm not sure which logs would be the most helpfull, but no doubt

I am using a single-monitor 1280x1024 setup with a 256M FireGL V3700,
and a similar issue is exhibited (differing only in log output). I have
successfully used a dual-monitor setup with this card where _both_
monitors had higher resolution than this one; I agree that this is not

It seems that I might be suffering from the same problem. After
upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10, the only account visible in Evolution is
me@localhost, when it should be me@gmail.com. The old messages were
imported to this localhost account during the upgrade, but I'm not able
to receive any messages
I tried the instructions linked by bagl0312 (comment #5), and things
got quite a lot faster for me too. I didn't remove the xorg.conf file
though. I wonder if it's safe to remove it, and does removing affect
anything else than (possibly) performance?

I'm not experiencing this bug any more on Ubuntu 10.10. At least it's
not present with the default themes, including New Wave, which used to
