I guess this is ZFS related, however upon checking I still have read write
access to my ZFS pools etc. So not entirely sure if this is a major bug or not.
Please note it has only started occurring after update from 15.10 (Wily) to

Presenting available updates works as intended. It is the embedded
terminal window during applying updates that is broken.
This broken behavior has been present since at least 17.04 alpha/beta,
and is present in 17.10 and 18.04. I haven't tried 16.10 but this was
working in 16.04.

After a fresh ubuntu 12.04 install, and after installing ubuntuone-
client-proxy, launched ubuntuone and then install, login, setup and sync
worked flawlessly. At last, after almost 3 years. good job! I am behind
a proxy without authentication. Now will try on android and windows.
However, It is
ctr+alt+t opens terminal and then you can do $gnome-session-quit to log
out. however, you get no panel and no dock
