I would love to see the system monitor get implemented in some way into
the ctrl-alt-delete. It is a very comfortable and familiar way to access
the system manager when an application freezes and your mouse cursor is

resize in any other interface rather than unity (gnome-shell, gnome-

I too have this issue. On Precise I have installed fglrx through Jockey,
but in system settingsdetails it still says vesa. I do now know if the
fglrx driver is in fact running, but I have 3D acceleration and glx
gears reports 60fps. Also, I can effectively change color settings VIA

Another note. After completely removing the xorg.conf file, at first
startup the flicker dissapeared, and, again, came back after a couple of
minutes of use. Setting [Option SwapbuffersWait on] in the xorg.conf
file was ineffective, and there is no difference between with or without
the xorg.conf
I did try enabling Force full screen redraw (buffer swap) on repaint
in ccsm did not aleviate any flickering and only caused more artifacts
and screen glitching than before.
Also, it isn't by any means exactly 5 min, and I believe that it is more

back and forth 3-4 times the icon would be completely off the screen.
