[Bug 1272475] Re: running bittorrent client causes kernel panic
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). From my quick test on 14.04 it is partially fixed. Yes just close this bug as invalid You should always check if bugs have already been reported and also you need to avoid generic 'not working' or 'broken' as each reported bug needs a single specific issue. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs The bluetooth-applet has been replaced by bluetooth-indicator so not a bug here but see #1198539 The indicator-bluetooth 'send file' bug see #1148033 The indicator-bluetooth 'browse files' bug looks new and I saw the same issue however it opened Nautilus once connected to device. If the timeout issue using dun was in indicator-bluetooth then report that here too bluedevil issues should be checked for existing reported to that packages bug page: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluedevil -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1242462 Title: bluetooth seems badly broken in saucy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-bluetooth/+bug/1242462/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1037718] Re: Intel wifi led is off after resuming from suspend
I have narrowed the problem further to commits in 2.6.39, likely somewhere in the splitting of iwl3945 drivers into iwlegacy directory[1] I am struggling to get any further narrowing it down as either I am facing kernel build issues or wireless is not working on the builds that are in the middle of iwlegacy commits. I will report this upstream and update with url. The problem I have found is that if I suspend the laptop then upon resuming the wifi led is permanently off yet the wifi still works properly. Also it is not just suspend that affects the LED, disabling wifi from network menu or using the hardware wifi switch on the laptop results it the same problem that the LED is permanently off after turning wifi back on. - This is regression going from kernel 2.6.38 (Natty) to 3.0 onwards. + This is regression going from kernel 2.6.38 (Natty) to 2.6.39 (Oneiric). [Bug 1254138] Re: Bluetooth LED on Dell laptop permanently on
I have identified the commit specific to Dell laptops that broke this and quite coincidentally this same commit was just reverted on the next branch only a few days ago. It's not all good however as the companion commits replace a laptop blacklist with a whitelist meaning it currently only works with Latitude models so I have to see if I can get Precision models also included. The commit that resulted in this issue was introduced in 3.5 kernel as dell-laptop: Remove rfkill code[1] I have built and tested the linux next branch code with the revert commit [2] and then modify the Latitude product string commit [3] to Precision and the bluetooth LED is now switching off as it should do. [Bug 1126108] Re: Indicator disappears entirely when disabling / turning off bluetooth
@charlemagne86 The patch in #13 is for an older version of indicator- bluetooth, the latest code is quite different so the patch will not work. I have been looking in the code and the newly added 'supported' option would work and thought I would update the ticket to show that it is possible with simple changes. === modified file 'src/bluez.vala' void on_default_adapter_changed (string? object_path) { clear_adapter (); +supported = object_path != null; === modified file 'src/desktop.vala' -visible = bluetooth.enabled settings.get_boolean(visible); +visible = (bluetooth.enabled || bluetooth.supported) settings.get_boolean(visible); However this uncovers a bug whereby turning bluetooth on/off from indicator or settings works only once then fails on further attempts and stays off with only a restart of the bluetooth service fixing the issue. The requirement that hiding the indicator when no adaptor is physically available is also possible but need to do a bit more testing as the above issue confused things. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1126108 Title: Indicator disappears entirely when disabling / turning off bluetooth To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-bluetooth/+bug/1126108/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1168858] Re: Nautilus window opens behind current window
xdg-open is the tool used in linux to open the default application but how can it be used by user/scripts/applications (without an api) if it doesn't behave as expected with nautilus? Following on from that if you then set the env var (as per my xdg-open change) in scripts then we have gone full circle and those scripts will then steal focus. Why does it matter if gnome-open knows which event as long as a correct timestamp is issued if no timestamp has been set? If it is possible to modify gnome-open to correctly set a timestamp that seems like a good solution and it does mention in the gtk api that the timestamp is only ideally from the event so it's not a requirement. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168858 Title: Nautilus window opens behind current window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1168858/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1168858] Re: Nautilus window opens behind current window
From my position the logic behind the changes just don't make sense and I am thinking of the bigger picture not just Deluge. I can open any file with xdg-open, with the associated application opening focused, file-roller, image viewer, firefox etc... So that begs the question why is Nautilus a special case and we have to jump through hoops to open a Nautilus window focused? An application developer when using xdg-open should not have to worry about special cases involving Nautilus file manager to have the new window focused like every other application. With 13.04 so close to release all the applications that use the 'open folder' feature will encounter this issue and users (inc devs?) will be irate but you have not addressed this concern? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168858 Title: Nautilus window opens behind current window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1168858/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1098827] Re: Deluge doesn't stay in the same workspace when a magnet link is clicked in a browser
A workaround is to disable 'focus add dialog' in preferences, which will prevent the application switching workspaces. I am not sure what the best practice is for dealing with workspaces but I think, based on observing other applications, the first expected outcome should be modified to the following: If another workspace is active then do not switch workspace but indicate the application needs attention in the launcher. User then switches to the application needing attention by clicking on the icon in launcher which also switches workspace. The fix for this outcome would be to only focus the Add Dialog if the Deluge workspace is active. The second outcome might be more correct when it involves dialogs. For example I have seen Thunderbird displaying a new message dialog on the active workspace while the application remains in another. The Deluge fix for this would be to disable set_transient_for(mainwindow) in the Add Dialog however this may result in unintended consequences for other users so will need tested before implementing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1098827 Title: Deluge doesn't stay in the same workspace when a magnet link is clicked in a browser To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/deluge/+bug/1098827/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 599234] Re: deluged and deluge-web violate home dir when they should not
Reviewing this I can only conclude that there is not an issue with Deluge but with start-stop-daemon failing to start because the location that you are using to store the config and log files is not available. It suggests that the mount point is not available at the point that deluge init script is being run and as expected start-stop-daemon will quietly fail. If there was any issue with deluged/deluge-web starting and not finding a directory etc. then there would be error log output in /media/raid5/deluge_config/deluged.log. Just to add that in the OP init script details, for DAEMON2_ARGS the log file name is the same as in DAEMON1_ARGS so will be clobbered. ** Changed in: deluge (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/599234 Title: deluged and deluge-web violate home dir when they should not To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/deluge/+bug/599234/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1055953] Re: deluge, deluge-gtk crashes with TypeError: object of type `AppIndicator' does not have property `title'
I have 12.04 and gir1.2-appindicator3-0.1 is installed instead however it is not a package marked as a dependency for Deluge installation so I doubt this is a Deluge packaging issue. If anything this is a missing dependency somewhere in the indicator package requirements that has been missed in the dist upgrade. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1055953 Title: deluge, deluge-gtk crashes with TypeError: object of type `AppIndicator' does not have property `title' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/deluge/+bug/1055953/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1053761] Re: deluge doesn't handle magnet urls by default
I do not think this is an issue with Deluge. What browser are you using? If it is Firefox you would need to goto Preferences | Applications | magnet and 'choose other' and select /usr/bin/deluge as the option. I did test this in 12.10 and although Deluge did not appear in the inital list, using /usr/bin/deluge and the ticking 'Always Use' does work. I am not sure why Ubuntu is not picking up the Mimetype from the Deluge.desktop file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1053761 Title: deluge doesn't handle magnet urls by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/deluge/+bug/1053761/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1053761] Re: deluge doesn't handle magnet urls by default
I was thinking it would be helpful if you could include the output from the following commands (some files may not exist): cat /usr/share/applications/mimeapps.list | grep magnet cat /usr/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache | grep magnet cat /usr/share/applications/defaults.list | grep magnet cat ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list | grep magnet cat ~/.local/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache | grep magnet cat ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list | grep magnet grep magnet /usr/share/applications/*.desktop grep magnet ~/.local/share/applications/*.desktop xdg-mime query default x-sheme-handler/magnet This is the old way of setting magnet so is simply for completeness: gconftool-2 -g /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/magnet/command -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1053761 Title: deluge doesn't handle magnet urls by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/deluge/+bug/1053761/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
