This bug is not unconfirmed, thanks not to reject it. If you guys need
more information (dmesg, lspci, etc.), simply ask. Querying for that bug
on forums such as ubuntuforums.org will return a few threads, and even
more if querying on other (non ubuntu) forums (google is your friend).
As mention,
with case insensivity and backslahses, there's a
patch available. This meant recompiling atftpd from source. This doesn't work
out of the box, the symbol CLK_TCK in the file stats.c must be replaced by
CLOCKS_PER_SEC
Could you please report this upstream?

part but the bug #448811 prevent using the box.
The kernel with CONFIG_DVB_USB_DIBUSB_MB_FAULTY=y solved a problem of
hardware detection. By rmmoding usbtest, and then connecting the artec
box the firmware loaded in the box
Somehow the problem disappeared once I edited /etc/default/hal by adding
the --verbose=yes option to the daemon. And then the problem did stay
away when removing the --verbose=yes.
It sounds like the default /etc/default/hal option has some problem,
maybe a missing end of line or something. I
workaround fixed it for me on a dell latitude E4310
