The acx driver does not support NetworkManager. Unfortunately, the acx
driver is also unmaintained and has been removed from Karmic and Lucid
kernels. I suggest using ndiswrapper with the windows driver for this
card. However, ndiswrapper is not supported by Ubuntu either.

I wrote the wrong command to install the updated linux-firmware-nonfree
package. The third command should be:
$ sudo apt-get install linux-firmware-nonfree
That will install the package if it wasn't already installed, and it
will upgrade it if it was. Please try this and retest.
In the 2.6.32-19 kernel a patch went it to disable lid switch usage for
all gpus of both i915 generation 2 and 3 [1]. Please test this kernel
out to see if it fixes your issue.

If you boot with the 'acpi_enforce_resources=lax' option, it will allow
the i2c-nforce2 driver to bind. Since that's been tested before, it is
not a fix for the boot speed issue.

Many short licenses are pasted into the WHENCE file in linux-firmware.
The WHENCE file only refers to LICENCE.* files when they are rather
large and cumbersome. This WHENCE file is then packaged up as the README

My guess is that this is a bluetooth-applet issue as well. I'm moving
this bug to the gnome-bluetooth package. Even if it's not a gnome-
bluetooth bug, hopefully the maintainers and developers there would have
a better idea of what is going wrong.
