also did you guys upgrade or fresh install? I did an upgrade. if you
want all the logs I can get it later, i'm booted into W7 cause Ubuntu is

What worked for me was to change the background image to a smaller file,
and not selecting the tile effect either - I noticed after booting
that my theme would unload as my background loaded, This fixed the
problem of my themes not loading after boot which I'm assuming also
caused the problem

You have to uninstall al the indicator-* that you don't use.
Of course it's a bad thing you can't choose in other ways the stuffs you want,
and moreover, that the background of this indicator thing is buggy on certain
themes -.- .

It's a better solution to separate them to let users decide the disposition
(minimize,maximize,close or maximize,close,minimize etc etc) and the decorator
to decide if it's a dialog or a normal window or a menu.

Forgot to mention that I have also tried removing the Nvidia drivers and
disabling Compiz. Tried Kubuntu Heron before the final clean install of
Ubuntu Heron, but it crashed more frequently.

I get the exact same problem on Kubuntu 7.10 Beta. I heard on #ubuntu+1
(irc.freenode.net) that taking the system offline during the install
should solve the problem. I'll try that and see how it goes.

I opened pidgin and about 4 minutes from the time I had logged in all my
