sorry, i've got that alittle backwards... it has been afew weeks. Ubuntu/Debian's change changes the option in about:config browser.link.open_newwindow to 2. Without updating wherever the gui is pulling its data from... so what happens is the core is set to 2 (2 is open in window) while the gui
