[Bug 1084380] Re: wicd wrongly and repeatedly reports BAD PASSWORD error
Jason: I'll make sure I'll add that command, just to be on the safe side. Leo: it seems to be like a problem in wpa_supplicant really: as you can see, when the connection succeeds you have WPA_CLI RESULT IS COMPLETED, while you don't have that in all other cases. I guess wpa_supplicant it's taking more time than usual to finish association. You could try increasing the time it tries -- it's currently set to 35 seconds. Open wicd/wnettools.py, and look for MAX_TIME, and set it to, say, 60. If that solves the issue (i.e. you find a WPA_CLI RESULT IS COMPLETED in the log), then we need to find out why wpa_supplicant takes so long to complete (and maybe it could be a good idea letting the user set that timeout from the GUIs). [Bug 1084380] Re: wicd wrongly and repeatedly reports BAD PASSWORD error
Hello, it would've been much more useful if you attached your wicd.log to the bugreport; instead of writing an essay. The bad password message might be misleading, but it means that wpa_supplicant failed. You should have a line like connect result is failed in your log to testify that. ** Tags removed: bug critical wicd -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084380 Title: wicd wrongly and repeatedly reports BAD PASSWORD error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/wicd/+bug/1084380/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 817749] Re: josm is in the wrong category in the Software Centre
Please don't play bug ping-pong. I'm not going to change it in Debian -- Education is a parent category of Geography, and it should be included. Citing the freedesktop standard: ... The list of Main Categories consist of those categories that every conforming desktop environment MUST support. By including one of these categories in an application's desktop entry file the application will be ensured that it will show up in a section of the application menu dedicated to this category. The list of Additional Categories provides categories that can be used to provide more fine grained information about the application. Additional Categories should always be used in combination with one of the Main Categories. ... That means, not everybody is using Gnome, or Unity, or whatever. One could also use a DE not supporting Geography, so JOSM must fall inside Education. If there's a bug, it's in USC, since it shouldn't show a software in a main category, if an additional category is listed. Closing again. ** Changed in: josm (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/817749 Title: josm is in the wrong category in the Software Centre To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/josm/+bug/817749/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 817749] Re: josm is in the wrong category in the Software Centre
This is not a bug in JOSM. JOSM is listed in the correct categories, which are Education AND Geography. The available categories are listed at http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/apa.html . This smells much like a USC bug, but, given I don't use Ubuntu, I'll leave to other people dealing with this bug. [Bug 762634] [NEW] Bogus error message when auth failed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: josm When the authorization process fails, JOSM shows an OAuth failed message, even when no OAuth is involved. This will also cause problems when, from tomorrow, OSM servers will give a 403 if the contributor hasn't explicitely accepted/declined the new license that the project is adopting. Upstream has already released 4021, fixing the error message by including the response body in the dialog. Hi Mahyuddin, yes, the package is ready. I'm waiting for the security team response about the embedded code copies. I wrote to them yesterday, I'll re-ping them in a few days if I have no response. After that, the package has to go through the NEW queue, and then it will land into the repositories. As soon as it does, I'll take care of requesting sync myself. Colin, I was waiting for some kind of ACK :-) Just uploaded 1.8.8-2 to experimental. I merged all Ubuntu's changelog, apart from the last entry by doko -- it was just a rebuild, and would've been in the middle of other Debian revisions with a greater version. I skipped it so that I don't inadvertently break any external tool :-) (and it didn't give any useful information to end users either). [Bug 643205] Re: Josm's category should be Geography, not Geoscience
This is a good question, don't worry. The .menu file is for the old Debian menu system. GNOME, KDE, Xfce and other modern desktop environments all use the .desktop file. In Debian there has been discussion whether to deprecate .menu files at all. However, I just missed that bit in the first commit, and did the change to josm.menu soon after ;) http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg- grass/josm.git;a=commit;h=89971dd706077d1dda431b28c84eebf724753368 -- Josm's category should be Geography, not Geoscience https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/643205 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 678283] Re: Sync python-pyproj 1.8.8-1 (universe) from Debian experimental (main)
Hello, yes, the Ubuntu package exists since before the Debian one. I must've missed it when I originally packaged pyproj in Debian. I gave a look at the Ubuntu package, and it seems there are no fixes to backport to Debian. 1.8.6-0ubuntu1 has two patches, which are useless in the Debian package. In fact, I'm using data from the proj-data binary, instead of the embedded copies (which in Ubuntu are shipped in python-pyproj-data). I'd say this is a good thing (but I'm the maintainer, so I'm biased :)). I checked in Natty, and the only rdepend of python-pyproj-data is python-pyproj itself. So here's the plan: - I upload a 1.8.8-2 version to Debian/experimental, with the Ubuntu changelog merged - remove pyproj source package from Ubuntu - upload python-pyproj source package as NEW to Ubuntu. I don't see the need for particular upgrade paths. python-pyproj-data would be removed because not-built-from-source (at least, in Debian it would be so, I hope here it's more or less the same), and users will have proj-data pulled in by my python-pyproj package. Also, there's no conflict between proj-data and python-pyproj-data -- the first puts data in /usr/share/proj/, while the latter in /usr/share/pyproj/data. I could just add a Conflicts to my 1.8.8-2 to force removal of python-pyproj-data. What do you think? Re: [Bug 680107] Re: Sync bootchart2 0.12.4-2 from Debian unstable (main)
On Wed, 24 Nov 2010 14:26:08 -, Scott James Remnant wrote: So it's worth clearing up a few misconceptions about our bootchart packages and bootchart2. [..] Thank you Scott for your clarifying message. [..] There have been improvements and changes to the collector made upstream, but these relied on libraries and kernel features that were only available (at least in sensible form) on Fedora at the time, so I never merged them. Conversely Tollef and I originally put a *LOT* of work into making apt- get install bootchart _just_work_ on Ubuntu, that work was never accepted by Debian back into the bootchart package and has never made it into their bootchart2 package. I'm not maintaining bootchart, just -2. We're just different maintainers. Do you have a bugreport handy? Thus getting bootchart2 up and running is basically a lot of work for not a huge amount of gain. You'd quickly discover that the extra features of the collector are hard to get going and don't give a great benefit; and then you'd realise that the way Debian package it requires mucking around with the kernel command-line and replacing the init daemon with bootchart (and thus missing out on the entire initramfs). Yes, I noticed that too. And I'd like to fix that, if possible. That's why I never took the time out to do the update - it would have been a hiatus in the boot performance work mucking around with the charting tools, and what we have now worked well enough. I'm not saying we shouldn't do the update, we certainly should, I'd just encourage it to be done carefully because just dropping in the Debian packages will mean all the tools and processes we have for working with bootcharts get thrown out of the window too. I guess I'll take some time to see the bootchart package in Ubuntu -- which I see now diverged enough to be considered something different :) $ rmadison bootchart bootchart | 0.9-4 | etch | source, all bootchart | 0.10~svn407-3 | lenny | source, all bootchart | 0.10~svn407-3.3 | sid | source, all $ rmadison -u ubuntu bootchart bootchart | 0.9-0ubuntu6 |dapper | source, all bootchart | 0.9-0ubuntu7 | hardy | source, all bootchart | 0.90.1-3 | jaunty/universe | source, amd64, i386 bootchart | 0.90.2-3 | karmic/universe | source, amd64, i386 bootchart | 0.90.2-7 | lucid | source, amd64, i386 bootchart | 0.90.2-7 | maverick/universe | source, amd64, i386 bootchart | 0.90.2-7 | natty/universe | source, amd64, i386 $ Scott, if bootchart2 upstream ACKs your (Ubuntu's) changes, would you agree to find a common path to reduce the Deb-Ubu delta, and have a common package (or, at least, a common basis)? Requesting FeatureFreezeException. It would be nice to have a newer JOSM in Maverick, because the current version doesn't have OAuth support, which was disabled due to missing dependencies. Now these dependencies have been uploaded, and have had their FFe :) There's no upstream changelog; being SVN snapshots, a svn diff -r 3397:3514 is all that's available. You can see it at https://josm.openstreetmap.de/log/josm/trunk?action=stop_on_copymode=stop_on_copyrev=3514stop_rev=3397limit=100verbose=on , but I'm attaching it here. The reason is a change I made in debian/control: - default-jdk, + default-jdk (= 1:1.6), It fails on Maverick because it has default-jdk 1.6, while Debian has 1:1.6. I could fix this in a -2 (maybe using (= 1:1.6) | (= 1.6), or maybe some more solid hack using dpkg-vendor), and I also have another change [0] pending for -2 -- would it be acceptable to FFe this new version (which I should still upload to sid)?
