[Bug 1246037] [NEW] Almost impossible to read in Adwaita Dark theme

2013-10-29 Thread Erkin Alp Güney
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 899878 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/899878

Public bug reported:

White text on white background appears in package selection and details when
used with GNOME 3's Adwaita dark theme.
Steps to reproduce:
Log in to a GNOME 3 desktop(maybe same issue appears in Unity, but only tested
in GNOME-3.6,3.8,3.10 series):
Run the GNOME tweak tool(first install it if you do not have it installed)
Select Theme/Enable dark theme for all applications=ON
Run Ubuntu Software center
Search something or look into any history tabs
You can read the text in package details only if you selected in this case,
where in package selection this is not possible either.

Re: [Bug 1422106] Re: Keyword argument should be used in translation strings

2015-07-23 Thread Erkin Alp Güney
 The original string is:
  Command '%s' from package '%s' (%s)
And the three %s will be replaced by the appropriate command name,
package name and main/universe/multiverse, respectively. So presumably the
error message about missing argument comes when if a translator leave any
of these out.

No, component names are untranslatable and should stay that way.
Or.. are you saying you need more control over the arguments in order to
rearrange them, because the current order won't make sense in your
 language?

I cannot. It keeps me from saving my translation due to missing argument.
Original needs to be keyword argument, too, in order to be able to use
keyword argument.

Reason of focus loss is different in mantic (GNOME 40 series) than
before (GNOME 3 series). For GNOME 40 series, I have temporarily applied
a workaround in my personal configuration to disable the lock screen,

[Bug 2060391] Re: gnome desktop cannot start as mutter fails to find drmModeCloseFB

2024-04-07 Thread Erkin Alp Güney
Yes, I do have librdm2 version 2.4.120-2 both for amd64 and i386 (dpkg
won't let me install different versions for each). As the graphical
session failed to start, I tried to invoke apport-collect from terminal
(with multi-user.target -ish level of services having already started),
but it redirected me to the "default" browser, which happens to be
firefox for GUI and lynx for terminal in my case. I couldn't progress
after the password prompt as lynx apparently doesn't support http
Referer feature. Here, apport should present its own login prompt or
allow fetching the access token from system keyring for more robustness.

[Bug 2060391] Re: gnome desktop cannot start as mutter fails to find drmModeCloseFB (when the 3rd party amdgpu driver is installed)

This is actually a constant problem we are experiencing with ROCm and
AMDGPU (yes, the official AMD driver and library stack for compute-
oriented GPU), because they update their drivers right on the release
day and do not leave us a time to test it.
