I have this problem and removing/ installing flashplugin-nonfree doesn't
fix anything.
Some flash animations work but most do not. Like if I go to some flash
sudoku site the frame comes there but I cannot insert anything.
Dilbert.com animations don't work at all and slow down firefox.

Update: Lot of problems so tried to install 32bit Mint Linux over

formating. This time installation was a success and no problems so far.

This package is currently unusable because of this bug. It should either
be fixed or removed altogether from xenial -- the current (longstanding)
situation is not bearable and does not look very good. :(

Actually it looks this is probably a bit different than the original
issue in this bug, sorry about that. However, I have attached our
cupsd.conf and any printers we are using have "OpPolicy authenticated".
With this config (the difference to stock Ubuntu config is AuthType

We had very similar symptoms (the user always gets a username/password

Thanks for triaging and investigating this, Julian!
A fix for at least the aptcc backend would be highly appreciated -- I'd
hope the other backends will fix this on their own if they care about
it.

Hi and thanks everyone!
I tested the patch and it works fine on focal (packagekit-1.1.13), but
even though it applies, it doesn't fix this on bionic
(packagekit-1.1.9).

I checked the patch again on bionic, turns out I missed the packagekit
restart the first time and the package postinst script for one reason or
another didn't restart the daemon on my test machine as it did on focal.
The patch seems to work on bionic as well.
