the glyphs (and that particular diacritics). And then, LibreOffice
displays that glyphs with another font that covers it. In this case,
LibO is using Liberation fonts to display missing characters from Arial.

I can reproduce it too. Also, if the launcher is set in “autohide” and
you have a maximised window below, if you try to do step 4 you can’t
because the launcher hides itself. It seems that the launcher, after
closing a lens, can’t detect if the mouse still is over itself.

This occurs when you enable/disable plugins like ”Screenshot“, “Unity MT
Grab handles” or “Title bar info”. As seen in the screenshot of comment
#6 (I took it), elements in top panel (like the menus and the Ubuntu
button) still work --you can press Alt+F and the “File” menu comes up,
as usual. But
