[Bug 1861191] Re: System hangs on graphical boot after kernel and nVidia upgrade
System was in unstable state after trying to use nvidia version 340 as suggested in post #2. Needed to have system in functional state. Was able to use sudo dpkg-divert --remove to remove the mismatched packages from nvidia-340 attempt. Afterwards all nvidia* packages were purged from the system. Removed kernel packages for 5.30.28 and reinstalled. Installed nvidia-driver-390 System boots into 5.3.0-28 without black-screen, however nvidia driver while installed does not load. > ERROR: NVIDIA driver is not loaded This is repeatable However if I revert to kernel 5.3.0-26 using nvidia 390.116 it loads and runs correctly. I can provide you any logs you require, however after the work above was completed I am unable to reproduce the hang and black screen that started this AM. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1861191 Title: System hangs on graphical boot after kernel and nVidia upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1861191/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
