[Bug 1759628] Re: bluez regression: Bluetooth audio fails to reconnect after resume

2018-04-09 Thread Guillaume Martres

I've definitely noticed it. And manually running "sudo systemctl restart
bluetooth" everytime I open my laptop is annoying. Is there a way to
automate the workaround? (Putting a script in /lib/systemd/system-sleep/
does not seem to work).

[Bug 1655065] Re: Regression: Suspend broken on Thinkpad P50 with 4.8.0-32-generic

2017-01-19 Thread Guillaume Martres
Bug closed upstream since 4.8 is EOL and the bug does not appear in 4.9
and 4.10. I'm willing to do a bisect to find the problematic commit, but
only if I can get some guarantee that this will lead to someone taking
the time to review the result and do what's needed to get a fix in
16.10. Otherwise I'm personally fine running a mainline kernel.

[Bug 1655065] Re: Regression: Suspend broken on Thinkpad P50 with 4.8.0-32-generic

2017-01-12 Thread Guillaume Martres
Kernel 4.8.0-32 introduced changes from the mainline kernels 4.8.7,
4.8.8, 4.8.9, 4.8.10 and 4.8.11 . In my testing, 4.8.8 works fine and
suspend is broken starting with 4.8.9. Furthermore, suspend is still
broken with the latest 4.8 kernel which is 4.8.17 (therefore the tag
kernel-fixed-upstream might not be appropriate).

Do you have any kind of infrastructure to find regressions in kernels?
For example, something that would automatically build kernels for every
commit between 4.8.8 and 4.8.9 so that I can try to find the culprit by
bisection?

[Bug 1655065] [NEW] Regression: Suspend broken on Thinkpad P50 with 4.8.0-32-generic

2017-01-09 Thread Guillaume Martres
Public bug reported:

Suspending to ram and to disk works perfectly fine on the
4.8.0-30-generic kernel. On 4.8.0-32-generic it works some of the time,
but most of the time it freezes the machine. When the machine is frozen
the screen is turned off, the power button light is on, but the machine
does not respond to any input including the Magic SysRq keys, the only
thing that can be done is powering off the machine by pressing the power
button for 10 seconds. This happens both with suspend-to-ram and
suspend-to-disk.

[Bug 1257707] [NEW] ssh-agent upstart script should not run when gpg-agent is used

2013-12-04 Thread Guillaume Martres
Public bug reported:

As mentioned in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/1244736
the ssh-agent upstart script does not check if an ssh-agent instance is already
running. This is bad, but fixing this bug does not prevent ssh-agent to be
launched when gpg-agent is also used. The gpg-agent upstart script test whether
gpg-agent is used or not using the following line:
grep -qs '^[[:space:]]*use-agent' $GNUPGHOME/gpg.conf
$GNUPGHOME/options || { stop; exit 0; }
This should be used to decide whether or not to run ssh-agent.

because of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnupg2/+bug/1257706 )

[Bug 1244736] Re: upstart configuration for user launches an extra ssh-agent

2013-12-04 Thread Guillaume Martres
Using:
grep -q ^use-ssh-agent$ /etc/X11/Xsession.options || { stop; exit 0; }
To detect whether or not to launch the ssh agent doesn't seem to make sense to
me, since if use-ssh-agent is true then ssh-agent will be setup by
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/90x11-common_ssh-agent (and later launched), so there
doesn't seem to be a need for an upstart script here.

[Bug 1257706] [NEW] gpg-agent environment variables not correctly exported

2013-12-04 Thread Guillaume Martres
Public bug reported:

Since Ubuntu 13.10, there is an Upstart script
/usr/share/upstart/sessions/gpg-agent.conf which launches the gpg-agent daemon
and then export the GPG_AGENT_INFO environment variable:
   initctl set-env --global GPG_AGENT_INFO=$GPG_AGENT_INFO
This is enough to prevent the /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90gpg-agent script from
launching gpg-agent itself, but it's not enough to actually use gpg-agent, you
also need to export SSH_AUTH_SOCK and SSH_AGENT_PID.

[Bug 779030] [NEW] The kernel man pages (section 9) are not packaged

2011-05-07 Thread Guillaume Martres
Public bug reported:

Hi,
It'd be great if the kernel man pages were packaged(kfifo_alloc,
kmem_cache_alloc, ...) just like they are in Debian:
http://packages.debian.org/sid/linux-manual-2.6.38

Thanks!

2008-12-22 Thread Guillaume Martres
I can confirm that all these packages can be installed alongside the unstripped
ffmpeg libs without any problem, they also all run fine, but I can't say for
sure if the features which use ffmpeg work, but it would be surprising if they
don't.
cmus: playing music works
libdlna0: launching ushare which rdepends it works, so it works
ushare: haven't figured out how to use it properly
mocp: playing music works
idjc: needs jack, and I can't get it to run
openmovieeditor: same
paraview: seems to work
smilutils: not sure, I haven't been able to get the ffmpeg2raw binary to
produce something, but using the stripped variant wasn't more successful
xmms2: playing music works

[Bug 301696] Re: Virtual keyboard (kvkbd) doesn't show the current keyboard mapping

2008-12-04 Thread Guillaume Martres
Yes, this is a known problem(see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=174110 ),
and not an easily solvable one unfortunately.
You can use the same workaround I explained in the kde bug report, change the
layout using the setxkbmap command, like for german keyboard:
setxkbmap de

For thai, replaces de with th, etc using the layout name. It's shown
by the systemsettings keyboard layout module next to the country name.

[Bug 300947] Re: Directory mismatch

2008-12-01 Thread Guillaume Martres
Okay, this is definitely a bug in the update from Hardy to Intrepid, here is a
workaround until I find a proper way to fix that(sorry for the inconvenience):
sudo rmdir /usr/share/games/etracer
sudo ln -s /usr/share/games/extremetuxracer /usr/share/games/etracer
This is due to the fact that extremetuxracer stores the data directory path in
the user config, and that the Debian package which was created after the Ubuntu
package of extremetuxracer was using a different directory for storing datas,
when I merged the package I tried to workaround that by adding a link but this
apparently did not work, the commands I posted above are what the package
should have done automatically, hopefully I'll soon find a way to fix that in
the package.

[Bug 273553] [NEW] [Feature Freeze Exception] kepas 0.9+svn080923

2008-09-23 Thread Guillaume Martres
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kepas

Plasma from KDE 4.1 is not API compatible with KDE 4.0 plasmoids, like Kepas.
Since there was no new version of Kepas I've decided to package a svn snapshot,
which I have tested and seems to only contains bug fixes and updates to the
desktop files.
In addition, I've splitted the plasmoid to a binary package plasmoid-kepas to
follow the naming scheme we have adopted for plasmoids and updated the
packaging to what we currently uses in Kubuntu for KDE4 packages.
Uploading this snapshot would fix Bug #268082 .

[Bug 262862] Re: [intrepid] plasmoid-xbar does not start

2008-08-30 Thread Guillaume Martres
Are you sure it doesn't work? It's not a standard plasmoid, it's intended to be
used on a panel like this:
- right-click on a panel - add Panel
- right-click on this panel -add Widgets.. - choose the XBar -- drag'n'drop
it on the new panel.

PlanetPenguin Racer has been unmaintained for ages, ExtremeTuxRacer will
eventually replace it completely and ppracer will become just a dummy
transition package, so if one of the binary package should be removed,
it should be the one from ppracer, not etracer imho.

[Bug 209358] Re: fonts in Qt4 look ugly because it uses Nimbus Sans L instead of Deja Vu Sans for Sans-Serif

2008-04-15 Thread Guillaume Martres
This bug is not really fixed, it has been worked around in KDE4 by
forcing DejaVu Sans as default font in kubuntu-default-settings, but the
bug is still there for pure Qt4 apps and people who don't use kubuntu-
default-settings.

[Bug 209358] [NEW] fonts in Qt4 look ugly because it uses Nimbus Sans L instead of Deja Vu Sans for Sans-Serif

2008-03-30 Thread Guillaume Martres
Public bug reported:

In /etc/fonts/conf.d/45-latin.conf and /etc/fonts/conf.d/60-latin.conf, DejaVu
Sans is the second alias for Sans Serif and Nimbus Sans L is the next to
last alias. Furthermore, Qt3 and GTK apps use DejaVu Sans as the Sans Serif
font.
But Qt4 seems to completely ignore these settings and use Nimbus Sans L as
the Sans Serif font, which looks really ugly(at least with my monitor),
changing the default font from Sans Serif to DejaVu Sans in qtconfig-qt4
workaround the problem, the change must also be done in KDE4 Appearance kcm
module.
Attached is a screenshot of qtconfig-qt3(left) and qtconfig-qt4(right) for
comparison, they both use the default font(Sans Serif).
