Bug closed upstream since 4.8 is EOL and the bug does not appear in 4.9 and 4.10. I'm willing to do a bisect to find the problematic commit, but only if I can get some guarantee that this will lead to someone taking the time to review the result and do what's needed to get a fix in 16.10. [Bug 1655065] Re: Regression: Suspend broken on Thinkpad P50 with 4.8.0-32-generic
Kernel 4.8.0-32 introduced changes from the mainline kernels 4.8.7, 4.8.8, 4.8.9, 4.8.10 and 4.8.11 . In my testing, 4.8.8 works fine and suspend is broken starting with 4.8.9. Furthermore, suspend is still broken with the latest 4.8 kernel which is 4.8.17 (therefore the tag kernel-fixed-upstream might not be appropriate). Do you have any kind of infrastructure to find regressions in kernels? For example, something that would automatically build kernels for every commit between 4.8.8 and 4.8.9 so that I can try to find the culprit by bisection? ** Bug watch added: Linux Kernel Bug Tracker #192471 http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=192471 ** Also affects: linux via http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=192471 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1655065 Title: Regression: Suspend broken on Thinkpad P50 with 4.8.0-32-generic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/1655065/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1655065] [NEW] Regression: Suspend broken on Thinkpad P50 with 4.8.0-32-generic
Public bug reported: Suspending to ram and to disk works perfectly fine on the 4.8.0-30-generic kernel. On 4.8.0-32-generic it works some of the time, but most of the time it freezes the machine. I can confirm that all these packages can be installed alongside the unstripped ffmpeg libs without any problem, they also all run fine, but I can't say for sure if the features which use ffmpeg work, but it would be surprising if they don't. cmus: playing music works libdlna0: launching ushare which rdepends it works, so it works ushare: haven't figured out how to use it properly mocp: playing music works idjc: needs jack, and I can't get it to run openmovieeditor: same paraview: seems to work smilutils: not sure, I haven't been able to get the ffmpeg2raw binary to produce something, but using the stripped variant wasn't more successful xmms2: playing music works -- Should depend on libavformat52 or libavformat-unstripped-52 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/289600 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 301696] Re: Virtual keyboard (kvkbd) doesn't show the current keyboard mapping
Yes, this is a known problem(see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=174110 ), and not an easily solvable one unfortunately. You can use the same workaround I explained in the kde bug report, change the layout using the setxkbmap command, like for german keyboard: setxkbmap de For thai, replaces de with th, etc using the layout name. It's shown by the systemsettings keyboard layout module next to the country name. ** Changed in: kvkbd (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Guillaume Martres (smarter) Status: New = Confirmed -- Virtual keyboard (kvkbd) doesn't show the current keyboard mapping https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301696 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 300947] Re: Directory mismatch
Okay, this is definitely a bug in the update from Hardy to Intrepid, here is a workaround until I find a proper way to fix that(sorry for the inconvenience): sudo rmdir /usr/share/games/etracer sudo ln -s /usr/share/games/extremetuxracer /usr/share/games/etracer This is due to the fact that extremetuxracer stores the data directory path in the user config, and that the Debian package which was created after the Ubuntu package of extremetuxracer was using a different directory for storing datas, when I merged the package I tried to workaround that by adding a link but this apparently did not work, the commands I posted above are what the package should have done automatically, hopefully I'll soon find a way to fix that in the package. ** Changed in: extremetuxracer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium Status: New = Confirmed -- Directory mismatch https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/300947 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 273553] [NEW] [Feature Freeze Exception] kepas 0.9+svn080923
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kepas Plasma from KDE 4.1 is not API compatible with KDE 4.0 plasmoids, like Kepas. [Bug 209358] [NEW] fonts in Qt4 look ugly because it uses Nimbus Sans L instead of Deja Vu Sans for Sans-Serif
Public bug reported: In /etc/fonts/conf.d/45-latin.conf and /etc/fonts/conf.d/60-latin.conf, DejaVu Sans is the second alias for Sans Serif and Nimbus Sans L is the next to last alias. Furthermore, Qt3 and GTK apps use DejaVu Sans as the Sans Serif font. But Qt4 seems to completely ignore these settings and use Nimbus Sans L as the Sans Serif font, which looks really ugly(at least with my monitor), changing the default font from Sans Serif to DejaVu Sans in qtconfig-qt4 workaround the problem, the change must also be done in KDE4 Appearance kcm module. Attached is a screenshot of qtconfig-qt3(left) and qtconfig-qt4(right) for comparison, they both use the default font(Sans Serif). ** Affects: qt4-x11 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- fonts in Qt4 look ugly because it uses Nimbus Sans L instead of Deja Vu Sans for Sans-Serif https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209358 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
