In the latest ubuntu precise (12.04.5), the udev version is
175-0ubuntu9.8, and the keymap in the #31 still exists in this version
udev, so this problem still happens on the V480c machines with latest

Installed sutton-precise-amd64-20130916-0 on the lenovo-v480c, and ran the s3
stress test, below two problems disappeared.

I found the root cause for this problem
This machine has touchpad toggle function key (Fn+F6), its physical
scancode is 0xe0 0x71, its translated scancode is 0xf1, and udev rules
activates this function key in the /lib/udev/rules.d/95-keymap.rules:

Upgraded the BIOS to version 1.16 according to the comment #16, re-did
the test, the problem still can be reproduced.

I installed ubuntu-12.10-desktop-amd64.iso into a usb disk on a non-
haswell machine, then update kernel to a version which support i915-hsw,
then use this usb disk to boot on a haswell machine, the ubuntu-12.10
can be successfully booted up.

will cover this kind of disk. While all errors were reported from sas
driver (serial scsi driver, intel isci driver). so from my point of

After add the /etc/udev/hwdb.d/60-dell-mic-mute-hotkey.hwdb and
update the database, the mic mute hotkey can work.

It seems the Dell microphone mute hotkey udev rule (below) is not in the
systemd - 204-5ubuntu20.8 yet. I have a bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net
/oem-priority/trusty/+bug/1339998) and need this udev rule be backported
to trusty.

generate a file named 60-hp-mic-mute-hotkey.hwdb and place the file at
/etc/udev/hwdb.d/
echo the content below into the 60-hp-mic-mute-hotkey.hwdb:
keyboard:dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svnHewlett-Packard*:pn*:pvr*
KEYBOARD_KEY_81=f20
Then
If it is ubuntu 12.04.4:
a simple way to test is edit /lib/udev/keymaps/hewlett-packard, change the
line:
0x81 fn_esc
to
0x81 f20

what is the microphone mute key on this machine? Fn+F8 or something
elese?
And please use sudo showkey -s to catch the scancode of this key.

the scancode? scancode is more important to solve this problem.

Please install latest alsa daily dkms, then redo the test to see if it
can fix this problem. If it can fix the problem, I am going to backport
the fix to ubunutu utopic kernel. It is difficult to backport the fix to
linux-3.13 since the fix relies on the pin quirk framework.
