One similar solution which I have read about is to go fetch the edid
file from a windows installation (if you have one). The windows drivers
detect the screen correctly and the format of the file is the same..
solution was posted for 210M but I believe it could work for 310M as

Vuze does not launch after Lucid update
I experience this also, however, only if moonlight-plugin-mozilla is
installed. As long as it is not installed, Firefox doesn't crash a few
seconds after starting it up. (I left libmoon and moonlight-plugin-core
still installed, I only removed moonlight-plugin-mozilla).

In my opinion, this bug should be raised (at least) to a Medium
priority. As I pointed out in another bug report

rendering problem is very frequent. At least within the little community
of mathematicians, whose main interest in
Friends, i had this problem too until i install python-all-dev and
python-libmimic. After that emesene works fine.
For the first one i use Synaptic for install it. The second did it manually
with this instrucction:
sudo apt-get install python-libmimic

The guy emphasizes that Evince is slow. I also had the feeling that when
characters were blurry, Evince was notably slowier than usually, or as
compared to xpdf on the same document (non blurry, fast).

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but the ntfs drives I mount via
fstab always gets randomized.
I have it set in this order: C-D-F-G. But for every boot, they get

In my previous comment, the test was performed with Ubuntu 8.04.1.
Now, testing as proposed by Bryce on 2008-12-20 with the live CD option
2. Download and test the Jaunty alpha-2 (or newer) Live CD,
(which includes a beta of the new xserver 1.6 as well).

It seems this was caused my me having libclamav5 installed after I tried
to install clamav from source.
I've since tried this again (removing libclamav5 first), then installing
clamav via aptitude with no issues.

In my Ubuntu 7.10, 386 machine:
- Confirmed, nautilus search doesn't work.
- Confirmed, search through placessearch for files... DOES work.

No report from Spain so far?... well, here is one. This bug is widely
spread over here, although things are going better:
- Some 50% among my colleagues and friends (mostly engineers) know about linux,
and some 15% have a distro installed. Although usually as a secondary option,
in a smaller
upgraded to gutsy 2.6.22-14-generic
same problem still exists
