terms of freedesktop wm spec that covers something like the intellihide
case. Struts effect both maximized windows and placement. We wish only
to restrain initial placement. We should be proposing something along

BAMF goes through 3 layers of matching before falling back to a
failure state where no .desktop file is associated. The layers in
short are:
1) A gio module which directly informs bamf which PID is launched with which
.desktop file
2) wm-class - desktop_id association

Retaining a live preview of the window requires fundamentally changing
how compiz handles minimized windows. There was a point where compiz did
this, however it was removed due to memory usage constraints. Retaining
a static preview is also possible, again with additional memory
consumption.

It might be easiest to rule out driver issues (or rule in) by providing
some patched clutter packages that provide some additional debugging in
this area. It would be cool if we could convince it to save the
offscreen hit detection render with a marker for where it thinks the
cursor is. It
No, the issue is with gl_read_pixels inside of mesa. The only way around
it is to change the entire input scheme in clutter (which they have
honestly considered). I don't think there is anything we can do about
this one, the drivers have to implement gl_read_pixels properly.
On side note, this
The L shaped memory thing probably goes a long way to explain why my
(quick) glance at the models of the notebooks of those effected are not
netbooks.

I am still having significant issues duplicating this bug despite
following instructions posted here. I do strongly believe this bug to be
a race condition however. I have attached a branch that may help in this
regard, if anyone can beta test it that is effected by the bug, please
let me know.
This is somewhat confusing. After looking at the code for nl-window, it
appears it doesn't actually call gtk_window_present on itself at all. It
does that for transient windows assigned to itself but not on itself. I
think the keyring is actually getting minimized(?) rather than being
obstructed
Ok I have a more in depth break down of the bugs behavior.
1) Gnome Keyring window is opened (in the forground)
2) Netbook Remix Launcher is opened (in the background)
3) Window manager, for some reason performs a focus event on NL (netbook
launcher)
4) In response, NL performs a
