[Bug 1587997] Re: Screen flashes when opening other windows.
I have noticed this only happens after running a full screen application like a game. For example I run a game like Dying Light or Left 4 Dead 2 in steam and after I close out of the game, that is when I get the flashing. After a reboot everything is fine until I run another full screen application. I should note when I say full screen it isn't a window that is maximized. ** Description changed: - system Kubuntu 16.04 - backports enabled. + system Kubuntu 16.04 - backports enabled. uname -a Linux chainsaw-server 4.4.0-22-generic #40-Ubuntu SMP Thu May 12 22:03:46 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux nvidia driver = 364.19 - graphics card = nvidia 980 + graphics card = nvidia 980 OpenGL version 4.5 X.Org X Server 1.18.3 Release Date: 2016-04-04 X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0 Build Operating System: Linux 3.13.0-86-generic x86_64 Ubuntu Current Operating System: Linux chainsaw-server 4.4.0-22-generic #40-Ubuntu SMP Thu May 12 22:03:46 UTC 2016 x86_64 Kernel command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-4.4.0-22-generic.efi.signed root=UUID=12498d04-a56d-4154-a205-002a33db41d0 ro noprompt quiet splash nomdmonddf nomdmonisw vt.handoff=7 Build Date: 18 May 2016 01:07:07AM - xorg-server 2:1.18.3-1ubuntu2.2 (For technical support please see http://www.ubuntu.com/support) + xorg-server 2:1.18.3-1ubuntu2.2 (For technical support please see http://www.ubuntu.com/support) Current version of pixman: 0.33.6 + Package associated with bug = plasmashell - When an application is opened the desktop screen flashes. I have found that if I turn off the composter the flashing will go away. So it is somewhere in the composter code. Using the alt-shift-F12 keys I can toggle the flashing. It comes back as soon as I turn the composter back on. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1587997 Title: Screen flashes when opening other windows.
