Confirmed on Intrepid with nautilus 1:2.23.92-0ubuntu1 and gvfs
0.99.8-0ubuntu1. To reproduce, mount any network file system (ssh for
instance) then drag a folder from that filesystem into nautilus'
sidebar. Eject the network filesystem, then double click on your
bookmark in the sidebar. You
Works for me in 2.6.27-4 on the X61. Is there anything that might have

damaged windows fail to redraw
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: x11-common
The failsafe X11 invocation calls get-edid, but nothing in Ubuntu
depends on the read-edid package, which contains get-edid. If the
failsafe graphics system is going to call get-edid, then it should
depend on read-edid, and read-edid should
This bug causes the user to lose his graphics upon reboot. After the
upgrade, the packages appear to be installed but the nvidia module is
not built. When the computer restarts there will either be VESA
graphics or failsafe graphics.
The workaround for the user is to apt-get install --reinstall
In case it's not completely obvious, this happens when beagle or tracker
tries to index the spreadsheet. Confirmed on Intrepid Alpha, gnumeric
version 1.8.3-3ubuntu2

ssindex crashed with SIGSEGV in g_object_unref()
Is the upstream getting any traction on this? w3m crashes quite
frequently as a subprocess of trackerd, even in the latest Intrepid.

original reporter left a perfectly good bug report, and someone set it
to invalid without fixing it. Two and a half years later, we still have
the same bug!)
