Apologies, I believe I have found a solution.
I have 13.04 and loaded up the gnome interface. Since then i've received
the same error.
I opened Passwords and KeysViewBy Keyring
I unlocked the Gnome 2 Key

unlocking the Gnome2 Key Storage in Passwords and Keys is what made
it stop. However it relocks on reboot, and it will not let you write a

A couple of people seems to have had this problem and deleting secmod.db
in ~/.mozilla/firefox/PROFILE seems to solve it.
'seems' to solve it? why did it fail in the first place? just a user,
not a developer, so very uneasy about rooting around inside the
application.

Not a developer, just an end user. I haven't noticed this lock-up
problem lately, so I imagine it has been fixed in the updates, thank

For the Toshiba NB205-B210 NetBook it is necessary to add the nohz=off
parameter to the kernel boot options. This avoids the slow boot problem
(at least until a better solution is found).

I experience this issue as well. It happens with Ubuntu 14.04 when
leaving the computer idle long enough for it to lock the screen due to
idle timeout. It does not happen every time it goes idle, but every now
and then. More often the past couple of months.
The only resolution that I know of is

A workaround, that is not acceptable in the long run, seems to be to lock the
screen manually every time I leave the computer, to prevent the idle timeout.
