If I do a local build and install of kde-l10n-fr and start KDE as a new
user which /etc/default/locale is set to French it starts in French with
french locale settings (e.g. comma for decimal separator).
This has a spec, but it's a non-trivial amount of work.

Unfortunately System-Config-Printer-kde is not yet complete and only
supports local printers (which will be autoconfigured). For hardy you
would need to use System-Config-Printer-gnome for Samba printers I'm

The debconf question is not asked when installing with jockey (-gtk or
-kde), so nothing gets downloaded and there are no files in
/lib/firmware/b43*.fw.

The problem is that jockey sets

scim fails to initialize, segfaults, makes kde4 apps take long to load
The problem is in scim-bridge-client-qt4, if you do not have scim
installed it delays applications starting up by several seconds while it
tries and fails to connect. If you do it insists on running scim even
when you don't need it and when quitting it just restarts. scim-bridge-
client-qt (qt3)
