When booting the Edgy knot 2 liveCD on a macbook pro, when X starts
everything is streched horizontally and wraps around the screen such
that the mouse is almost an inch wide but only a few pixels tall and
moving the mouse up and down causes the image of the mouse to move
It's sad, but the only properly working (without latency) flash on linux
is accessible with IE and wine.
I do the same thing but with firefox instead of IE. 1: because I despise
IE and 2: because firefox in wine just works (TM). Just apt-get install
wine, run the windows firefox installer,
Just my $0.002: I had horrible DNS resolution times ( 10 seconds ) for
a long time and I assumed that it was because my router / ISP didn't
support ipv6, so I went through the hassle of turning off ipv6 and the

This week I decided to switch to openDNS
I tried reformatting my entire drive and using an MBR instead of a GUID
partition table and although there were no errors when running the
installer, the mac did not recognize the partition as being bootable so
I still cannot boot Ubuntu from the hard drive.

this problem is well documented in every tutorial for Dual booting
Ubuntu and OS X on intel macs ( why there hasn't been a bug report
before this I don't know )

I have actually already upgraded ( using apt-get dist-upgrade and doing A
LOT of fixing ) but I had to download many packages manually from
packages.ubuntu.com and install them with dpkg -i because they were being
held back, they are still being held back but they are all currently at the
newest
I would like to re-install and the only thing keeping me from doing so

dragging the video image, and it does what Lynoure reports, and I tried

to is stored in debconf as a string like /dev/sdb. The problem is that
/dev/sdb won't always be the same device if drives are moved around or,

Running a non-existent or misspelled command from a guest session causes
command-not-found to crash and output a long set of error messages:

The guest account should only be able to read absolutely neccissary
files ( enforced via apparmor ), so I am not surprised that /usr/share
/command-not-found/ isn't readable.

I guess the mirror I am using hasn't gotten your new packages yet ( I
updated and still had the problem ) but installing the .debs you linked
to has fixed the problem.

The gentoo wiki has instructions for 2.6.27, I couldn't get them to work
with intrepid's kernel but maybe this will help get someone closer:
