behavior of unclean exit and high CPU usage, and disabling sound with
their respective switches eliminates this issue in, at least, my own

be handled in GConf, I wasn't aware (as I wasn't aware that the launcher
was for the default e-mail client and not Evolution specifically).

This was a matter of preference last time it came up in a bug report,
IIRC. I dunno if any Gnome/Ubuntu people are even willing to fix it

I have the same results as Daniel Botelho, using Ubuntu Gutsy (both i386
and AMD64 installs). Newly installed Sabayon, create new profile, then
clicking on Edit crashes it right after an xnest window appears. Very
frustrating - especially since this would be a GREAT tool for the 6
schools I have

Nautilus, it is a brand new install of Gutsy. I was able to reproduce it
the first time the first created user logged out (with extremely minimal
usage of Gnome, not including the actual browsing through the Nautilus

sites to administrate, but I have to wonder if it is worth it to even

Just wanted to add that we are experiencing this same problem (6-school
Ubuntu/LTSP5/FF install). A fix would be pretty nice, because this issue
is causing our thin clients to hard-lock constantly with regular usage.
Not very fun for the students, and the image of Linux/Open source

as of 2007/10/29, Firefox will crash semi-instantly (you can see the
window appear, and then close out, with a Segmentation fault (core

Yesterday I did updates - I am not sure exactly what version I updated
to for OOo (newest as of 7/24) and SlideShow seems to be working now -
no crashes. This bug can probably be closed - I will re-open it if I
experience further issues.

I should also mention that I was at a school site a few days ago and
noticed this bug in action (again) - it seems to cause other booting
LTSP clients to not get a DHCP lease if dhcpd is on the same server
(maybe due to heavy server i/o when building other swapfiles?) Causes
half clients to fail
I can confirm this bug on Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS running with LTSP5.
I can also confirm the fix of replacing the Hardy version of:
/usr/lib/libxcb-xlib.so.0
With the Gutsy version, as described in above comment. I have performed
this fix on 2 separate LTSP networks and it seems to work fine, with no
