After a random amount of time, i simply can't type anywhere.
However actions such as ctrl+alt+F1 and ctrl+alt+backspace still work.
Also, pressing the *lock keys still respond, chaning the lights on

Ok its changed a bit on my machine now
A bit further on in the boot i lose the artwork, get about the top 7/8
of the screen orange and the bottom black.
It then goes to a black screen.
I then get bits of what i think is grub code, then the tty1 log in
underneath that in a strange thin font.

I've been helping shiv with this problem via irc.
I still think that it is an actual problem with the ntfs partition. (he
has used ntfs-3g btw). I recommend using windows repair software to try
to check out the partition.
