ok... all this workarounds and install I've seen so far tells me that I would have to rebuilt the driver from source... which avoiding that is the reason I am using ubuntu (I used to have fedora)... I love when plug in and just works what surprises me, is that my webcam (genius eye 110) works

Ok, I got some new info on this bug. I disconnected the battery and try to boot live USB, and it didn't shut off it... so I'm thinking it may has to do with the battery drivers, or something. I can boot 10.10 from a live usb stick, I have installed 10.04 in order to keep using the laptop. What
