I get this too, all the time, since I upgraded to intrepid on Friday. At
times, a folder might display negative message counts (my Unread mail
(local) folder is showing -7 messages right now), and might display
several new mails in the folder list, when in fact there are no new
mails. Worst is

Dean, unfortunately royalty-free is not good enough. The image needs
to have a license that explictly allows certain things. For example, the
license must allow modification, and re-distribution of modified
versions. Without a license, such things are not allowed.

The GTK user interface actually does attempt to do that: it shows you a
list of all the things it wants to do and lets the user decide to ignore
some of the stuff. The user can also not click the Cleanup button.
Thus, to see the obsolete packages, they can start system-cleaner-gtk,
and click on
Unfortunately, there is currently no way for system-cleaner to know
which packages are obsolete (because they are no longer available via
apt-get), and which ones are third-party packages installed outside of
apt. Thus the bug is valid, but we can't fix it for now.

I agree that not purging packages leaves some cruft. The amount is
typically fairly small, though.
Purging instead of removing carries the risk of the user accidentally
removing configs they care about, and I'd like to be very careful about
that. Thus, at least for intrepid, system-cleaner won't
Broom for getting rid of dirt (unwanted packages). Screwdriver (or
hammer?) for adjusting things (relatime).

priviledges. When you start it from the menu, it is started using gksu,

When I run Xubuntu (dapper, gutsy) under kvm, and start their terminal
emulator, the guest X server crashes. Every time.
I'm told this doesn't happen on real hardware, so it is probably a kvm
bug, though I admit I can't imagine what might cause it.

On a lark, I tried to create a 27 terabyte virtual disk with qemu-img.
With RAW format it works OK. With QCOW2 format it segmentation faults.
The commands I ran:
qemu-img create -f raw bar.qemu 27000G

I have this problem on my system as well. I use the radeonhd driver. It
goes away if I set /apps/gnome-settings-daemon/plugins/xrandr/active and
/apps/gnome_settings_daemon/plugins/xrandr/active both to false (perhaps
one of the might have been enough).

When I run this:

the result is that the Python interpreter dies from SIGKILL, instead of
