[Bug 1740175] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 not resuming from suspend, freezing on shut down
Yes, suspend had no issues on 16.10. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1740175 Title: Ubuntu 17.10 not resuming from suspend, freezing on shut down To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1740175/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1740175] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 not resuming from suspend, freezing on shut down
The issue is with suspend. It suspends perfectly if I just boot up and immediately try it. If I work on a project in vs code for a couple hours, it almost always freezes.
[Bug 1740175] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 not resuming from suspend, freezing on shut down
I was able to fix the stop job on shut down, but I froze again on 'reboot: Power down' - it looks like the hard drive is turning off but the screen stays on.
[Bug 1740175] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 not resuming from suspend, freezing on shut down
I did a number of the steps in the link provided for debugging to the best of my ability (i'm pretty new). Last night I had an issue with shutdown: after running a stop job on mysql community server the system froze on 'reboot: Power down'. I just properly turned off the i915 driver and updated grub, so i'll see if that has any impact.
[Bug 1740175] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 not resuming from suspend, freezing on shut down
So, 'echo freeze | sudo tee /sys/power/state' seems to work quite smoothly. Is there any reason NOT to use this from here on out instead of 'systemctl suspend'. [Bug 582944] [NEW] package phpmyadmin 4:3.3.2-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: phpmyadmin I was trying to install LAMP using the instructions found on http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu_lamp_for_newbies These instructions worked fine on 9.10 I installed Apache2 and PHP5 no problem. Then I installed MySQL using: sudo apt-get install mysql-server And finally I installed phpmyadmin: sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-auth-mysql php5-mysql phpmyadmin But phpmyadmin was never able to read the mysql password table. I always got the error: 1290 - The MySQL server is running with the --skip-grant-tables option so it cannot execute this statement So I went to uninstall phpmyadmin and got this bug. It seems that there are problems with mysql and Lucid Lynx. [Bug 544317] Re: Contact List of Empathy went blank.
I see this bug in both my i386 and AMD64 versions of Ubuntu 9.10. In the mean time I've switched to Pidgin. But I would rather use Empathy (Same version as #1) Installed: 2.28.1.1-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 2.28.1.1-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 2.28.1.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic-updates/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.28.1-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages -- Contact List of Empathy went blank. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/544317 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 550979] Re: Volume increase decrease by function buttons never release on Dell Studio 1558
Moved this bug report over from bug #465250 I'm running Karmic (9.10) amd64 on my Dell Studio 1558 (Intel Core i3 processor) and I also experience this bug. The mute key (F7) works fine. But the volume up (F9) and volume down (F8) keys have problems Not only do they not stop increasing (or decreasing) in volume, but my computer becomes unresponsive. I find myself having to press control + alt + delete to restart (brings me back to the good old days of Windows!) Looking forward to a fix. @Jerone Thank you for the file. So if I understand correctly, copying 95 -keyboard-force-release.rules to /lib/udev/rules.d/ will only work on 10.04, and not on 9.10? -- Volume increase decrease by function buttons never release on Dell Studio 1558 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550979 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
