I believe you can find a lot of resources by making a search.
If you're testing on your real f-spot db I recommend you to backup
~/.gnome2/f-spot/photos.db somewhere before starting (shouldn't be harmful, but
who knows?

thunderbird -compose subject=test
should pop up a thunderbird compose window. f-spot issues this command,
with the attachment just after.

I have similar need using pam_winbind login, to access a PDC (samba in my case).
On Windows I am offered to change the password, on Ubuntu 10.04/GDM I just see
a message below login saying Your password is expired but I can login anyway.

As this is happening to me too right now I'm attaching what requested.
To be precise, my laptop was discharging, I plugged power and the
battery indicator is still red, while laptop led is orange (charging)

This bug triggers a more serious problem: sometimes when opening files
via /run/user/... the document is opened correctly, then when you press
save there is no error but the document is not saved to network!

hm indeed I skipped an important step: my Google account has two factor
authentication enabled.
So when I add my gmail account I get a popup with a gmail login page. At this
stage I cancelled my login so in g-c-c-s the account remained partially
configured, or unconfirmed as I said.

while in ubuntu/debian the server is started via /etc/init.d/nfs-kernel-server.
It would be better to serve it patched to the distribution
